Afraid it would end up ill-fitting again, she measured everything very carefully.
Minho stood quietly with patience, his red eyes fixed forward, cooperating the entire time.
Hayoon had previously measured herself as well, and comparing the two, she could not help but click his tongue in her mind.
Compared to the other sub-beastmen in the tribe, she was indeed thin.
And standing in front of Minho, she did not quite measure up.
That narrow waist and those absurdly long legs seemed to be favored by the creator himself, perfect in every way and impossible not to admire.
Seeing her not move for a moment, Minho lowered his head and looked at him with his narrow eyes. "What is it?"
Hayoon snapped back to reality. "Ah, nothing. I am done measuring. Tomorrow when it is brighter, I will start making your trousers."
Minho nodded. "Alright. Thank you."
Hayoon did as she said.
The next morning after breakfast, Minho went out hunting, and she began carefully sewing the trousers.
Before noon, they were finished.
After confirming there were no issues, she folded them and placed them aside, then went outside and found a relatively soft patch of ground.
From her storage space, she took out the stone hoe.
Haeun had just returned from collecting firewood. Seeing this, he put down the wood and asked, "Sis, is that the hoe Minho gave you?"
"Yes. I will try it."
Haeun said confidently that it would definitely be good and ran over expectantly.
Hayoon's eyes lit up as well.
Haeun rubbed his hands together, gripped the hoe, and swung downward.
With a crisp sound, the soil was neatly turned over, forming a small pit.
It was excellent.
He increased his strength slightly and swung a few more times.
As long as it did not hit rocks, the soil was very easy to turn over.
He flipped the stone hoe over and checked the connection between the stone and the wooden handle.
There was no sign of loosening at all.
Haeun exclaimed, "Why is this hoe so easy to use?!"
Hayoon said happily, "Probably because of this resin."
Haeun was surprised. "Resin? I have never seen anything that can stick this firmly."
Hayoon said, "We will know once Minho comes back and we ask him."
If they could gather this kind of resin, making more useful tools would make building a house much easier.
In the afternoon, when Minho returned with his hunt, Hayoon first handed him the finished trousers and urged him to try them on.
"See if anything needs adjusting. I will fix it."
"I will go wash up and put them on," Minho said.
"Alright."
The summer temperatures were high, so Hayoon found it troublesome to gather firewood and boil water.
She usually went to the stream in the evening to wash herself.
Large trees blocked the view, so no one could see her.
However, Minho seemed to be considerate of her and would go even farther away to bathe.
About half an hour later, he returned with his hair half-dry and a faint trace of moisture still on his body.
Aside from the short robe he wore before, he had also put on the trousers Hayoon made for him.
The two pieces of linen were different in color, with the trousers being noticeably darker.
With his naturally well-proportioned build, the outfit looked layered and striking.
"How is it?" Hayoon asked expectantly.
Minho said with a faint smile, "It fits well. No need to alter it."
"That is good." Hayoon finally relaxed, then brought up what she had been thinking about all day.
"You want to collect this kind of resin?" Minho asked after hearing her explanation.
Hayoon nodded. "Yes. Do you know where it can be found?"
"I do know, but it is not strong enough if used on its own."
"Huh? Then how did you make it work?"
"It is mixed with the sap of a plant called Saxaul. First, the resin is melted by steaming it over water. Then the juice squeezed from crushed leaves is added and slowly stirred in."
"Saxaul…" Hayoon frowned slightly. She had no idea what this plant looked like or where it grew.
Minho seemed to understand her thoughts and said, "Tomorrow there is no group hunting. I can take you to collect resin first."
Hayoon was overjoyed. "Really? That is great! Is it far?"
"It is still within the southern territory of the tribe. If we leave our beast skin bags behind, we can return by noon."
Hayoon thought for a moment. "Then I will still prepare some food, just in case something unexpected happens. And we should bring two baskets too. Maybe we will find other useful things."
Minho did not object. "Alright."
The next day, they left at dawn, leaving Haeun at home to watch over things.
Minho transformed into his beast form in an open area.
The enormous snake head turned toward her, its red vertical pupils fixed on Hayoon.
"Get on."
After spending time together, Hayoon was no longer afraid of his beast form, though instinct still made her feel cautious.
She hid that uneasiness well and climbed onto his back without hesitation.
"Do you not need to sit in front?" the snow-white giant snake asked.
"No need. Your back is already quite spacious."
Hayoon removed her basket and placed it beside her legs, then silently added in her mind that his scales were cool to the touch, like a natural refrigerator.
"Then we are off."
With that, he turned his head and began to move.
Once again, Hayoon experienced his incredible speed. Grasslands, hills, and even rivers were crossed in an instant.
If the forest was not too dense, he would go around it. If it was too dense, he would go straight through. Thick tree trunks that even several people could not embrace were snapped cleanly with a crack as he passed through, extremely direct and efficient.
The terrifying, savage strength left Hayoon completely stunned.
Trees kept toppling on both sides. She lay low against the giant python's back to avoid being scratched by branches.
