Treesa met Ethan's gaze.
"Is that true?" she asked, her tone calm but firm.
The shop owner's eyes flicked toward Daniel before meeting hers again.
"Yes, Madam."
Silence hung in the air for a brief moment.
Without another word, Treesa placed the small wooden plate on the stall counter, then pulled a handkerchief from her satchel and wiped her hands.
"Let's go, Daniel," she said.
The two of them walked away in silence.
The customers watched them leave without saying a word.
Even though Treesa didn't say a single word, her actions spoke louder than words. Seeing her walk away without finishing her meal, a few customers quietly set down their unfinished plates and left as well.

"People these days are becoming more and more dishonest. I hate it when they profit from someone else's hard work," Treesa muttered as they walked through the marketplace.
Daniel didn't say a word, simply listening.
