*Rattle~*
The wagon rattled along the dirt road as it made its way from Raven Town toward their next destination—
Cinder Town.
Daniel sat alone at the rear of the wagon, a healing potion in hand, his back resting against the wooden wall as faint arcs of electricity continuously crackled across his body.
A layer of wooden boards had been fastened to the front of the wagon to keep the wagoner a safe distance away from the stray lightning.
"Something's happening to my body," Daniel murmured, staring at his palm.
A strange sensation pulsed through it — not pain, not numbness.
It reminded him of the tingling feeling in a leg after sitting in one position for too long, except this sensation was stronger… and alive, as though tiny currents of electricity were flowing beneath his skin.
Daniel's comrades and Marco rode in the wagon ahead, leading the convoy toward Cinder Town.
His thoughts drifted back to the aftermath of the duel.
