Chapter 265 - Chapter 265: Eddie and Venom Separated

Chapter 265: Eddie and Venom Separated

"I told you, we should have eaten her back then," Venom grumbled gloomily. If his weaknesses were exposed to those people, he was in serious trouble.

Through his time bonded with Peter and Eddie, Venom had learned enough about modern human society to know that with their high-tech capabilities, building a sonic gun wouldn't be a difficult task.

"Don't say that. Maybe Dr. Skirth didn't tell them anything?" Eddie clung to a sliver of hope.

"No, that snack definitely talked," Venom hissed. He desperately wanted to charge back and swallow that woman whole.

"What do we do now, Venom?" Eddie sat on the ground, feeling dejected. He was beginning to realize that the only being he could truly open up to right now was a parasitic alien symbiote.

"Don't ask me. I don't know. I don't exactly have a brain," Venom remarked.

"Sigh..." Eddie sighed and picked up the mask the stranger had given him. "If I put this on, can we really go anywhere in the world?"

"Are you sure about this, Eddie?" Venom still didn't like the idea of Eddie wearing the mask. Who knew what kind of effect it would have on him?

Eddie thought for a moment, then eventually put the mask back into his jacket pocket. "I have a feeling that masked guy is playing me. What do you think, Venom?"

Venom wanted to say "no kidding." In his eyes, Silas was an incredibly manipulative and dark individual; you couldn't trust a single word that came out of his mouth. But fearing Silas might be listening, Venom simply said, "It's up to you, Eddie. Your choice."

Ring ring ring—!

Just then, Eddie's phone rang.

"Hello?" Eddie checked the screen; it was an unknown number.

"Hi, Eddie. It's Dr. Skirth."

"Dr. Skirth? You didn't tell the police about me, did you?" Eddie asked urgently.

"I'm sorry, Eddie. I'm calling to warn you. You need to be careful. The government already knows about the symbiote's weaknesses," Dora said, her voice tinged with guilt.

"..." Eddie hung up without a word. His worst fears had been realized.

"Let's go! Let's go eat her!" Venom hated Dora now. He couldn't wait to kill her.

Eddie shook his head. "Do you think she doesn't know the danger? By the time she made this call, she was likely already gone."

Indeed, Dora was currently on a plane. Before leaving, she had decided to warn Eddie out of a sense of responsibility; after all, he only went to the Life Foundation because of her, and he was only bonded to the symbiote because of her.

"I don't believe it!" Venom forcibly took control of Eddie's body and sprinted toward Dora's house. Eddie didn't resist, letting the symbiote have his way.

After running for nearly ten minutes, they reached her home. As expected, Dora was long gone.

"Careful, Eddie. I think we walked into a trap." The moment Venom entered the house, he smelled several unfamiliar scents.

Eddie looked around, whispering, "What do we do?"

"Eat them!" Venom surged over Eddie, grabbed a table, and hurled it toward the window curtains.

Crash!

"Ah!" Two fully armed police officers tumbled out from behind the drapes.

Venom lunged toward them, but before he could grab them, a wave of intense heat blasted from behind him.

"I HATE FIRE!" Venom grabbed one of the officers by the legs and swung him backward like a club.

BOOM!

A flaming projectile was knocked aside by Venom, landing on a nearby sofa and instantly igniting it.

"We have to get out of here, Eddie!" Venom tossed the officer aside and leaped toward the ceiling, desperate to escape. If the fire spread too far, he would be trapped.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!

Four fireballs erupted from different directions, all aimed directly at the mid-air Venom. He twisted his body violently in flight, the flames whistling past him. The searing heat caused his mass to shrivel slightly.

"Things aren't looking good," Eddie muttered.

"They are very not good!" Venom landed back on the floor and shot black webbing onto the ceiling.

"GET DOWN HERE!" Venom yanked with all his might. The entire ceiling was ripped down, crashing onto the floor and creating a massive cloud of dust.

Under the cover of the debris, Venom leaped outside. He intended to pick off the "little mice" hiding in the shadows one by one.

"Target lost!" a hidden operative whispered into his headset.

"Behind you!" Venom snatched up the operative and shoved him into his mouth.

Crunch... crunch...

"Quite chewy." Venom tossed the man's lower half aside and continued his hunt.

Inside a nearby Armored Command Vehicle

"This is really making more work for me," said a man in a military uniform with a distinctive white mustache.

"General Ross, what should we do?" a subordinate asked.

General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross stroked his mustache. "Bring out that vehicle."

"Yes, sir!" The subordinate immediately relayed the order.

Two tanks equipped with specialized sonic weaponry were deployed. General Ross had originally intended to use them against the Hulk. Although the Hulk had smashed them in a rage during their first encounter, they had finally been repaired. Now, they were perfect for dealing with another monster that shared a weakness to noise.

Near Dora's House

Venom continued to flush out the hiding officers, biting off their heads to replenish his strength and stamina.

"What is that, Eddie?" Venom paused, spotting two tanks rolling toward him.

"Are those... tanks?!" Eddie noticed that instead of traditional cannons, the tanks were fitted with two large, satellite-dish-like devices.

"Tanks? What are they?" Venom didn't know what a tank was, but seeing Eddie's panic, he knew it was something dangerous.

Eddie stared at the dishes, and his eyes suddenly went wide. He realized exactly what they were.

"Venom, RUN!" Eddie screamed.

Venom hesitated for a split second, but he quickly followed Eddie's lead. Just as he turned to bolt—

BONG—!

Two massive waves of sonic energy blasted forward. The speed was so great that Venom couldn't react. The sound waves slammed into him.

"EDDIE!" Venom shrieked in agony. He didn't even last a second before being violently torn from Eddie's body by the sheer frequency.

Venom reverted to a puddle of black liquid, splattered against a nearby wall. He shrunk into a tight, shivering ball. He was dying! The sonic power was so overwhelming he couldn't even crawl; his entire form vibrated violently.

"I'm... I'm not dead?" Eddie clutched his ears. His eardrums felt like they were about to explode, but he realized that despite being separated from the symbiote, he was still alive.

Squelch!

"AAARGH!" Blood began to leak from Eddie's eyes, nose, and ears. His eardrums finally ruptured under the pressure, and he collapsed to the ground.

"Well done," General Ross said, a cold smile spreading across his face. The humiliation he had suffered at the hands of the Hulk was finally being paid back on this black monster.
