Damn it!
A moment of carelessness had caused Daisuke to throw away such an excellent position.
He clenched his fists tightly, his heart overflowing with regret.
Had he been slightly more cautious, he might have been able to secure victory in this battle.
However, regret was already useless.
Thinking of this, Daisuke took a deep breath and worked to calm himself.
He directed all his attention toward the battle that lay ahead.
He understood that only by focusing on the present could he find an opportunity to reverse the situation.
Firm determination shone in his eyes, as though he were declaring that no predicament would be able to hold him down.
He knew that every failure was a valuable lesson.
This time, he would draw strength from that lesson and pull himself together.
His fists remained tightly clenched, as though he intended to transform all his regret and unwillingness into strength.
Every muscle in his body tensed as he prepared to confront the next challenge.
After a brief silence, the spectators once again erupted into thunderous cheers and applause.
There was no need for further explanation.
In their eyes, this round of the battle had been absolutely spectacular.
It had not merely been an intense clash between two Pokémon.
The battle of intelligence and strategy between the two Trainers had been equally admirable.
Daisuke's Water Pulse strategy had resembled a dazzling visual spectacle.
It had left the audience mesmerized.
The spectators could not help but marvel at the extraordinary confrontation.
They had expected Daisuke to attack with overwhelming force and turn the unfavorable battle around.
However, no one had anticipated that Spiritomb would use the unexpected move Destiny Bond at the crucial moment.
It had directly taken Persian down with it.
As a result, Spiritomb had achieved the remarkable accomplishment of defeating two opponents by itself.
It had secured an overwhelming victory.
Daisuke's side, meanwhile, had been plunged completely into a disadvantageous position.
This dramatic reversal thoroughly ignited the spectators' enthusiasm.
Every person stared intently at the fierce battle taking place in the arena.
They had been completely captivated by the heart-pounding confrontation.
It had to be acknowledged that once the tournament entered its final stage, the excitement steadily increased.
Every round was filled with relentless action.
It was truly spectacular.
It was obvious that the intense competition between these contestants was not merely a contest of strength and speed.
It was also a battle of tactical intelligence.
This unquestionably made the tournament even more entertaining.
Throughout this contest of technique and strategy, both competitors displayed extraordinary battle awareness and tactical planning.
The entire battle was filled with suspense and unexpected developments.
It resembled a carefully arranged drama, making it impossible to predict what would happen next.
Inside the VIP viewing area, Shiko watched the battle with keen interest.
From his perspective, neither Spiritomb nor Persian possessed particularly impressive strength.
After all, Shiko himself was the strongest being in the universe.
Naturally, Pokémon at this level could not attract his attention through strength alone.
What he appreciated was the battle intuition and intelligence displayed by the two Trainers.
Humanity truly deserved to be called an intelligent species.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield below, both competitors sent out their next Pokémon.
"I choose you, Gardevoir!"
Daisuke sent out his Gardevoir.
"That really is an excellent Pokémon!"
"Then I'm counting on you, Milotic!"
Denjiro chuckled softly and sent out his own Pokémon.
A wave of quiet exclamations immediately spread through the audience.
There was no other reason for their reaction.
These two Pokémon were both remarkably rare and seldom seen.
Being able to witness them battle here today was genuinely fortunate.
"Go, Gardevoir! Use Psychic!"
"We're attacking too! Hydro Pump!"
Gardevoir's eyes began to glow.
It directed Psychic toward Milotic.
Milotic immediately felt its entire body being restrained.
Fortunately, the binding force was not powerful enough to make escape impossible.
In the next instant, Milotic forcefully broke through the restraint and fired Hydro Pump toward Gardevoir in the air.
Unfortunately, the attack did not follow the trajectory Milotic had intended.
It appeared that Psychic's interference had caused the attack to miss its mark.
"Rain Dance!"
"Hmph! Psychic!"
Milotic's eyes began to glow.
In the next instant, dark clouds appeared directly above the battlefield.
To accommodate this type of weather move, the arena's roof began to close.
Only the section directly above the battlefield remained open to the sky.
In other words, only the two battling Trainers and their Pokémon would be exposed to the rain.
As the sky darkened beneath the dense clouds and raindrops began falling, a bluish-purple shock wave surged toward Milotic.
Milotic had already anticipated the incoming attack.
It immediately coiled its body on the ground.
However, it was still slightly too slow.
The attack struck Milotic and knocked it to the ground.
Daisuke frowned slightly when he saw Milotic's condition.
The effect he had expected had not appeared at all.
He had believed that after Milotic was struck directly by Psychic, its Special Defense would decrease.
However, nothing of the sort had happened.
Daisuke immediately understood.
"You used Safeguard?"
Denjiro ignored him.
Seeing that Milotic had not been significantly affected, he immediately responded with another command.
"Milotic! Use Rain Dance again!"
"What?"
Hearing Denjiro's command, Daisuke was momentarily dumbfounded.
If Denjiro merely wanted to change the weather, using Rain Dance once should have been enough.
What was the purpose of using it a second time?
Daisuke watched the raindrops slowly fall onto his body.
The slight, icy chill instantly cleared his thoughts.
Wait!
If Rain Dance was used a second time, then the weather that followed would become—
Damn it!
No!
Daisuke's eyes suddenly widened with alarm.
