Era 2137, Germany, Walthem Sector, Second Space Station, Keon City
Joseph and the others struggled to climb out of their hospital beds. At this moment, the Great Walthem Hospital had turned into a pile of ruins. Even more terrifying was that most of the patients had died in this explosion.
Ankalia was the first to wake up. The explosion had almost made her forget the conversation she had with Joseph right before it happened. However, she understood that as a mere technician, there was a high probability that she couldn't obtain or build a particle wave detector identical to the Seventh Base's model. If she asked the Director of the Secret Police Bureau directly, not only would she owe a favor, but it might also give the Seventh Base leverage over her—assuming Joseph's theory was actually correct. Whether Joseph's theory could even stand on its own feet was still a question, especially since most of the team didn't support his ideas, let alone going directly to the Seventh Base. Their team of agents hadn't found even a single clue worth a chicken feather.
Joseph looked out the window. He knew that a fierce battle was inevitable. What he held in his hand was the biggest clue regarding the Plasma Gems. The first gem had already been successfully monitored and located by the Seventh Base, so their target was now set on the fourth gem recorded by the Nazis. According to the data left by the Tomorrow Party, this Plasma Gem was right here in Keon City. However, it was currently in the hands of those evil militants, and finding the militants' base behind the scenes wouldn't be easy. Fortunately, the militants' armed base had remained stationary. The energy of the Plasma Gem required a special field controller to contain it. This machine was massive and heavy, making it difficult to transport. So, as long as they investigated the background of this group of militants, they would find the fourth crystal sooner or later. Joseph believed that this group would launch a third attack on the hospital soon. As their counterattacks increased, the militants would naturally surface. As long as they searched carefully, they would find that crystal eventually. As for the other crystals, it was hard to say; they hadn't found even a shadow of a clue for those yet.
Focus on the present.
Joseph turned and returned to the hospital ward. His comrades had mostly recovered, except for Burgrade. Joseph knew his waist had been severely injured; five pieces of shrapnel had hit the same spot successively, shattering his entire left waist. Fortunately, thanks to advanced medical technology, he had snatched his life back. The shrapnel pieces were small and didn't cause massive external wounds, but he was still seriously ill. While the other comrades could resume their normal lives and work, he could only lie there hooked up to an IV, speaking with difficulty.
"Alright, comrades, our enemies have targeted us. I believe they will launch a third attack very soon. It is time for our final meeting. Life or death depends on the success of this meeting. If we win, the remaining crystals and the secrets of the Seventh Base will soon surface, but if we lose..."
"The consequences will be unimaginable," Burgrade barely finished Joseph's sentence, speaking with great effort. Edward, who had served as a military doctor, could tell just by looking at him.
Joseph sat down and spoke slowly: "First, the Plasma Crystals were taken from the remaining Nazis. Second, as descendants of the Nazis, it is absolutely unlikely that the Tomorrow Party would hand over data to the Solar System Federal Committee, with whom they are hostile. Third, the Seventh Base is an important scientific research institution of the Solar System Federal Committee, but its location is extremely mysterious. Currently, we have almost no data on it. These are all the problems we face now. Oh, right, regarding the other Plasma Crystals, the Solar System Federal Committee and the Seventh Base are continuously providing us with data. These are just the basics, and our most basic tasks. Points one, two, and three that I mentioned earlier are all additional tasks. I believe these people are by no means good people."
"Anyway, let's fight the battle facing us right now first. Otherwise, it will be almost impossible for us to settle down and research properly," Ankalia, the combative Russian beauty, said urgently. She was one of the people Joseph trusted most, although she found Joseph's rhetoric from yesterday and today hard to understand. Without the support of the Solar System Federal Committee, the Tomorrow Party, and the Seventh Base, they couldn't possibly have found so much data.
In the darkness, those sharp hawk-like eyes picked up a walkie-talkie. Speaking German, he whispered something to the person on the other end. Then, the corners of his mouth rose slightly, forming an evil arc, and he muttered softly: "The show is about to begin..."
