Chapter 9 - Arc 1: Chapter 9, Clown

It was a lovely and Sunny day, with the sun shining and illuminating the entire City of Paris and waking those sleeping up.

In a white painted house. A Teenage Boy was sleeping soundly on his bed in his room when his alarm clock rang off, making him get up and stop it from ringing. The Teenage boy didn't want to get up from bed, but knowing he had to go to school, especially when it was his Birthday, it was the day he became 17 as marked on his calendar. The Teenage boy with Blonde-golden hair and Emerald Green eyes got up and sat on the edge of his bed and stared at the wall for several minutes first and then stretched his body, and got up and started to get ready.

He brushed his teeth, took a shower, put on a white shirt and black pants and combed his hair, and went down the stairs. There, on the Dining Table, He saw a pretty blonde-haired and emerald green-eyed girl. She was eating an omelette sandwich with a glass of milk on the side. On the opposite side of her was another omelette sandwich and a glass of milk. She looked at the handsome teenage boy and said with a deadpan expression: "Adrian, eat your food before it gets cold."

It was obvious from her tone that she didn't want to chit-chat. Adrian was also not in the mood for any chit-chat, and so, He sat down and started to have his breakfast quietly. A quiet breakfast was a normal thing for the siblings since both of them have always been tired in the morning, and as the day goes on, they will become more energetic.

Adrian, after having his breakfast, got up, picked up his bag, and wore his black shoes and got out of his house, and walked to the Bus station. Adrian and his sister Lily have been living like this for the past 7 years. Their parents were famous Archaeologists who had to travel a lot to go to different archaeological sites and different countries all the time, and thus, Adrian and Lily had to live alone in their home. They often make phone calls and bring money every month, but nothing more than that. Their last names are Blackbell.

While walking to the Bus station. Adrian observed little kids going to school with their parents and some leaving their kids at the Bus station. He has always been envious of other kids with their parents always with them, with him being irritated and annoyed in the morning. His envy became worse as his brows furrowed a little, but he didn't say anything and sat at the Bus station and waited for the bus to come.

After the Bus came, he rode it and took a seat and quietly started to scroll on his phone while momentarily looking outside his window.

....

Eric, Max, Ruby, and Zoe got out of the Taxi, which had stood in front of an apartment complex. This was the place where they were gonna live from now on while being in Paris. Ruby paid the Taxi Driver, and they all went to the register to enter and get their keys, and then took the lift until they reached the 38th floor. There they walked up to in front of two rooms. 3817 and 3819. Eric passed Max the keys to Room no. 3819 and told him to keep some quiet, please.

Eric opened Room no. 3817 and entered with Ruby. It was a spacious room for two people with a bedroom. Two bathrooms, a kitchen, a laundry, a storage room, and a balcony to hang clothes to dry off, and, as Ruby wanted to see, there was a 90-inch smart TV for her in the living area.

She was delighted to see that and immediately went to check it out, while Eric went to check out his personal room he wanted to have for work. It was a simple room with a desk, a comfy chair, and a window. This was a white marble tiled room which was average size and up to the preferences of Eric, especially with the Tiles as his favourite colour is white.

After looking at his apartment and making sure everything was working right. There was a desk with a workable computer to do work and store files. Eric walked up to the chair behind the desk and sat on it, and lay back. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, and stared at the ceiling for a few minutes, looking dazed while being in deep thought. After a few minutes, He got out of the Daze and sat straight on his chair and took out a notebook and a black pen from his desk. He ripped out a page from the notebook and wrote a heading on the first line with the Black pen. "Things to follow not to lose control."

Then he pulled out a blue pen from the Desk and started writing

1. I am Eric Heisenberg.

2. Max is my only Friend, whom I can fully trust

3. Do not kill, harm, or help until necessary.

4. Always show an appropriate reaction to everything.

After writing all of these points. He looked at the page intently and read all the points carefully again, a few more times, and nodded in satisfaction after feeling that it was correct with no problems.

He put the paper up, and suddenly the Golden Liquid came out of his Wrist and as soon as it touched the surface of the Paper. It turned into a burning golden flame and engulfed the entire paper and leaving not even a speck of dust.

Eric stood up from his chair and walked out of the room. Upon leaving the room, he noticed Ruby watching cooking videos on the large TV with a beaming smile. Looking at her, his lips curled up into a gentle smile.

Eric walked and sat near Ruby on the sofa in front of the large TV. His eyes were looking at the lady explaining how to make bread softer than normal bread, but he was not focusing on the content on the TV, but rather the soft breeze coming from the balcony, hitting his right cheek. It was a quiet moment, a serene moment, a peaceful moment, and he loved moments like these. He appreciated them even more now because he knew there were not going to be many moments like this in the near future.

He sat there with his eyes half-closed, just feeling the wind and quietness. Ruby noticed his eyes and face and thought that he was sleepy as she asked,

"Eric, are you sleepy?" Eric tilted his head in her direction and said in a sleepy and tired tone,

"Yes."

Ruby raised her hand and put Eric's head on her lap, and started to stroke his hair quietly as she continued watching the baking video.

...

Adrian got off the bus after passing four stations and looked around to find any of his friends who might be heading to school in the same way as he did, but to his misfortune, there was no one. He may not be the most cheerful and happy person in the morning, but that doesn't mean he is bad at socializing. In fact, he has many friends in school, but not even one that he could call a true or close friend.

He is quite complicated. He likes to be alone but also yearns for the company of others. After making sure there was no one, he turned right and started to walk to his school. There was still quite a distance left to his school, and since he always wakes up early, he could even buy some morning snacks at his favourite place.

Adrian turned left again at an intersection and saw his favourite snack shop. He headed to the old lady there and asked her for the usual. The gentle old lady told him to wait at the table with a warm smile. It was morning, and there were not many customers around, but in the evening, the place is like a hellhole.

Adrian sat on a chair and brought out one of his books, and started to read it to pass the time. He was quiet and minding his own business when he noticed something very colourful from the corner of his eyes and turned his head back to reveal a clown. The clown wore very colourful clothes and had plastered makeup on his face.

The clown had a smile on top of his plastered smile and held a bouquet of red roses in his hands. He happily handed out a poster to Adrian while saying, "Please pay a visit with your family, sir." This was a poster for the central circus show that was going to be held eight days later. Adrian felt a little sad when hearing the word family, but he didn't say anything out loud, and before he could even speak—

The clown handed Adrian the bouquet he was holding, and when Adrian was about to refuse, the clown looked into Adrian's eyes and said with a sweet smile,

"Consider this a gift from me to lessen your troubles."

For some reason, the more Adrian heard his words, noticed his gaze, his hand movements, his expression, and behaviour, the more trustful he felt of the clown until he did not doubt him at all and nodded in a daze.

Afterwards, the clown left to hand out more posters. Adrian looked at the poster in a daze when he was suddenly called back to his senses by the gentle old lady.

....

In the evening, Eric and Max were out in the streets to buy some groceries and were going to the nearest mall to buy them. Max was very enthusiastic and happily looking around.

Eric was quietly looking around with his hands in his pockets, just when he turned his head to the left and saw a smiling clown staring at him from a distance. Eric and the clown stared at each other for some time before Eric approached the clown, and the clown bowed and asked,

"Would you perhaps like a bouquet of red roses, dear sir?"

Eric also smiled at the smiling clown and nodded in agreement, and after the clown handed Eric the bouquet, both of them smiled at each other for the last time before disappearing into the crowd on the streets of Paris.
