Chapter 8 - Interesting outcomes

Sombra never thought his random raors would attract attention. It was a mistake on his part, and he admitted that he made a mistake, whether intentionally or not; but he already made the heart remove a, god knows how many millions expensive, satellite from orbit.

So, whether he liked it or not, he was already exposed. The only question that remained is: when will those in power give him a visit?

So, although it was an unintentional mistake, it did work in his favour. His biggest problem was the lack of population; if he can get a few thousands, he can use the crystal heart on weekly basis without worrying about it running empty.

Of course, it was just Sombra's estimation; he wasn't sure how much exactly the heart would need or get from ordinary citizens. After all, till now, Sombra was the only measurement unit, and he by no means was an ordinary person. In fact, although he looked humanoid, he was sure he wasn't really human.

Sombra was floating atop the snow lands, waiting for Jack's answer.

Sombra would never show it, but he was desperate. He needed Jack to accept for two main reasons: the first is the obvious source of energy for the heart, and the most important of all….. Information.

Jack was a normal human of this world, which means he had information about the state of the world, even if it was vague.

Sombra had no intentions of forcing Jack; if Jack refused, then Sombra was willing to take the information he could from him and then teleport him somewhere across the world.

Why? Because Sombra needed Loyalty. He doesn't have the mind control of the original, and he wasn't willing to welcome any unstable factors into his new home.

So, he gave Jack a choice: accept a new home, serve a new purpose, and Sombra would give him the opportunity to be…. Unique.

After all, magic is unique, isn't it? He can teach him magic.

Of course, if Jack accepted and then tried to steal the knowledge Sombra would provide and escape? Or to send it back to his home country for some sense of loyalty? Then Sombra would place Jack's head on a spike…

Maybe cut his limb and leave him to rot in the dungeons, barely alive, just to provide emotional energy for the heart.

Sombra promised his grandfather to do his best, and he would do just that…. He would build the greatest empire to ever grace this earth.

He would give everything for his new home, for his empire, and it's future citizens. In fact, Sombra was willing to burn armies if it meant saving a single Citizen beneath his throne.

Why? Because that's how his grandfather raised him…. Just like a farmer takes care of his workers, he would take care of his own.

And anything that stood in his way would be removed….. Anyone outside of his empire wasn't his responsibility… In fact, one of the plans Sombra had to prevent being nuked is for him to teleport to the capital of whatever country that plans to invade or harm his empire.

They have nukes? Then let them nuke him in the middle of their capital, and he could teleport at the last second …. their capital couldn't.

See? It's fine nukes doesn't make them invincible . After all, the crystal empire has him, and Sombra believe he can make any country bleed all alone.

And if a nuke was aimed at the empire? Then he would use the crystal heart to open a portal that would send the nuke right above the aggressor capital.

Just thinking about it brought a small smirk to his lips

Sombra cut his thoughts off as he saw Jack's hesitation finally end as he kneeled slowly, which formed a huge grin on Sombra's dragonic face.

"Welcome to your new home, Jack."

Sombra aura flared as he teleported both of them inside the castle.

Sombra, already in his human form yet almost 8 feet tall, walked slowly, ignoring Jack, who almost threw up from the teleportation spell after effects.

Jack's eyes moved to Sombra's figure, finally seeing him clearly without the snow haze, as Sombra stood just in front of his throne with the air of someone who owns the world.

"Step forward, Jack, and kneel… Swear an oath of allegiance. It's not anything formal; I only need your honesty."

Sombra didn't need the oath, but he needed Jack to speak it for a simple reason…. Although Sombra lost his mind control ability, but detecting lies? That was as easy as a normal telekinesis spell.

So, Sombra watched closely as Jack, who looked slightly pale, moved to the front of the throne, looking at the crystal walls and the place that seemed out of a fairytale with disbelief and increased astonishment.

As Jack sank to his knee and started giving a self made oath, Sombra grinned… Jack didn't have loyalty yet, but he was honest, which meant as Long as Sombra kept his word, then Jack would have no reason to turn traitor.

"As long as you give what you promised, then I would serve the crown… unless you betray me first."

As Jack words ended, the crystal heart on the top of the castle started beating slow heartbeats. It wasn't the angry, destructive one of before; this one was calm and welcoming.

A small transparent thread of magic flowed from the heart as it connected with Jack, already drawing his emotional energy.

Just as Sombra was thinking whether he should allow Jack magical access directly or wait for a while, something astonishing happened that Sombra stopped, and for the first time, his confident expression fractured in shock.

Jack, who was a rather normal individual with black hair and brown eyes, maybe 170 cm tall at best? With small muscles and some fat here and there.

Jack started glowing. His small frame started growing from 5 feet something to 6.5 feet tall, or maybe more or less. His ordinary frame filled with lean muscles, while two new limbs started growing from his back.

While the transformation was happening, Jack was covered in the blinding light of pure magical energy.

A few seconds passed as new beautiful deep black wings formed on his back, while his skin was turned crystalline, becoming tougher and stronger as new magical energy started crossing through his body.

'A pegasus?!'

As the magical ligh disappeared, showing the new jack that looked with awe at his hands while examining his body.

The shocked look on Sombra's face disappeared, to be replaced with a huge smile, devilish smile.

'Very interesting.'

(A few hours later)

Sombra was sitting on his throne. Jack was walking around the Crystal Empire while trying to get used to his new body.

Earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasi….. That's the three types of ponies in my little pony universe, or at least the main types.

Unicorns can use magic spells, the most versatile and dangerous if correctly trained. Their limits are completely dependent on talent.

Teleportation is just a simple example of how useful they can be, and Sombra would be able to make them place protection for the empire instead of building all the traps himself.

Pegasus can control the weather and can walk on clouds and, if trained to the limit, can break through the sound barrier and can fly.

Earth ponies? Super durable. In short, a humans with superhuman limits, and they can raise crops like the earth owes them money.

All three types, all three of them, are super soldiers that any country would kill for.

And the best of all? The transformation is permanent as long as the crystal heart allows it to be, which means if, for instance, a unicorn betrayed Sombra, then he can make the crystal heart sever the connection with the traitor.

Which would turn them back to human.

Although it would depend on how strong the individual is…Sombra guessed that if a very skilled unicorn lost his connection it would take over half a year to return to human form.

For normal individuals it would be less than a week.

The possibilities were countless because, unlike ponies who normally stagnated, humans were different Jack was no pony he wouldn't scream and run like 99.9% of the pony population on Equestria or at least sombra hoped that it is….. It was like getting the human thirst for pushing forward and giving it superpowers.

But not all were good….. His citizens would be a target. Superpowers would attract greed and ambitions of the powerful.

He can already imagine it…. Jack strapped to an experimental table while his wings are cut off for humanity's greater good.

That was Fine….. Let the world try. Sombra would burn it to the ground.

Sombra rose from his seat and walked to the window, seeing his empire on the horizon and looked down, seeing his first citizen trying to fly while failing pathetically at it.

Green magical aura flared around Sombra's eyes as a chuckle escaped his throat.

"Let them try. I want to see who dares place his sight on my subjects…. A show of force will have to be made once I go puplic. The only difference is who would be at the receiving end of my fury."

Somewhere atop the castle, the crystal heart thumped slightly with hidden heartbeats, agreeing with its master's will.

The subjects of the crystal empire will never bow to the laws or orders of outsiders.

And outsiders that question the authority of the king will learn their lesson with blood.

For the King bows to no one
