Chapter 42 - a conversation with Killian

In Kernal's Room

Killian looked at Kernal with a serious expression.

Killian: "Kernal, I have to say this. This is dangerous. You don't have to do this."

Kernal: "It's no problem, Sir Killian. I can handle it alone. Even if something goes wrong, I should be the one to bear the consequences."

Killian sighed.

Killian: "I already told you to stop calling me 'Sir Killian.' Just call me Killian."

Kernal smiled awkwardly.

Kernal: "Sorry. Since we're alone, I'll call you Killian."

Killian nodded before asking,

Killian: "What about Sasha? Are you still watching her?"

Kernal: "Don't worry about it. Everything is under control. She will never know."

Killian let out a relieved breath.

Killian: "That's a relief."

After a brief silence, Kernal spoke again.

Kernal: "Killian... how's Frank?"

Killian's expression turned serious.

Killian: "Frank is on the run. Every bounty hunter has their eyes on him. Governments and even heroes want him. After the Phoenix incident, he barely escaped with his life."

Kernal frowned.

Kernal: "How can the kingdoms offer such a huge bounty?"

Killian folded his arms.

Killian: "I think neutral kingdom already knew before the others that he might be connected to the Blood Clan base at that school with in ritna. They know one of the students is James' descendant, but they can't prove it."

Kernal shook his head.

Kernal: "Even if he is James' descendant, he's still just a weak kid."

Killian immediately replied,

Killian: "That's not what the kingdoms are looking for."

Kernal looked confused.

Kernal: "Then what are they after?"

Killian answered calmly.

Killian: "They're probably searching for James' techniques. Rumors say they were handed down secretly. It's said that his Aura Technique possessed incredible power."

Kernal nodded.

Kernal: "So basically, it's a lost technique."

Killian smiled slightly.

Killian: "Yes, but it's far more than that. History says it had no obvious weaknesses. It's like a man who keeps filling a pool with blood—even after every drop is used, it somehow fills again."

He paused before continuing.

Killian: "Frank's Aura Technique was advancing rapidly during every fight. He almost reached the second stage."

Kernal looked thoughtful.

Kernal: "Then he hasn't mastered it yet."

Killian: "No. Not yet."

Kernal looked toward the window.

Kernal: "We might need to prepare. The world will know about us very soon."

Killian nodded.

Killian: "Yeah..."

Kernal changed the subject.

Kernal: "Did U.S.E. cancel the tournament?"

Killian shook his head.

Killian: "No. The tournament starts after two months. They can't remove that step now. How's the Moon Base going?"

Kernal: "Great."

Killian smiled.

Killian: "Okay. Since I'm here, let's go to Arnold."

Before leaving, Kernal asked one last question.

Kernal: "Do you want to show your Aura Technique to the kids?"

Killian laughed.

Killian: "Yeah, why not?"

Kernal replied,

Kernal: "Before going, show them the Aura Technique of the Elf King's ."

Killian grinned.

Killian: "Good idea. It'll make tomorrow's much more interesting."

Kernal sighed.

Kernal: "I don't know if that's a good idea."

Killian chuckled.

Killian: "Are you trying to stop me again? Arnold's like you—he doesn't show everything by himself."

Kernal smiled confidently.

Kernal: "Don't worry. I won't even use half of my strength."

Meanwhile...

Somewhere deep inside a broken building hidden within the jungle, several people were gathered.

One person hid behind a wall, carrying nothing but a bag and a katana. Sweat rolled down his face.

He whispered,

Person: "What should I do? If I come out, I'll be killed. If I stay here, I'm going to die anyway."

A soldier suddenly shouted from outside,

Soldier: "If you come out, we won't hurt you! Other soldiers are searching every part of Turn. There is nowhere left to run, Frank!"
