I stepped out of the bunker- the cold outside wind sharply hitting my face. I took in the area, still filled with debris; and that woman- Sylvia walking in front of me. From all the intel i have gathered from her, there are few things such that
1. She's a cyborg maker
2. She's an absolute menace
And the other few regarding of my identity and where i come here - she had conveniently left them out only mentioning twice that i was some man she found on the street with severed limbs and decided to turn into a cyborg and that one day i ran off somewhere after she fixed me.
I don't completely trust her story, nor her; but until now, she had been accommodating me through this rough patch.
The sharp scent of blood was still there, my eyes darted towards her as she was walking in front of me, her dyed blue hair bouncing with each step; i had to take my chance and get something, anything useful out from her about myself
"You.. do you simply turn people into Cyborgs because you feel like it? I mean.. it certainly requires resources and materials to do so. Why do you put in such an effort?"
She stopped midway in her track and turned, her eyes scanned over me the same way one would look over an interesting specimen in a petri dish.
"Because i simply want to- it was once a passion of mine, and now it's something I love to do for the greater good of people- ugh. Did you seriously think I'd say something as cliché and cheesy as that?"
I saw her roll her eyes and look at me with mirth glimmering in her expression
"You do not have enough privileges to ask about how I do my things."
She said slowly as if speaking to a child as she pointed at my chest, tapping the spot over my heart
"You should be grateful. I have saved you, and I do not get the right to be nosy in the business I do."
I scoffed mentally, following her while grumbling about arrogant lunatic women, internally. The audacity she has without even telling me my own name or who I am then flipping me off over in the conversation.
"I understand what you're saying, but could you just update me over how things are going in the current world after everything that has gone wrong with that false Messiah?"
I asked firmly, my eyes set upon her as she looked up at me and raised a brow, perhaps contemplating if to indulge in answering my question or leaving me hanging
"From what I've heard in all the chaos is that the supreme commander of an army of those monsters is a human woman."
My head cocked to the side in surprise as I took in her words
"You mean to say, a human woman has managed to hold a position between the creatures who despise humanity even more so now after the False messiah incident?"
I saw her nod wordlessly while I pondered over it- a human woman. It wasn't unusual to see a few humans willingly working with those creatures; but this would be the first time I'm hearing of a woman who managed to get hold of such a position between them.
"Where are we going?"
I asked Sylvia as she led me through the roads and to the main street; I remember fragments of visiting this place before but now? It was simply ruined. It was unusual how no one was in plain sight there would at least be a few monsters we would have come across by now.
Sylvia spoke suddenly snapping me out of my thoughts as I looked at her intently
"It's the eighth of December; the same day their leader had descended onto our earth and wreacked havoc. Most of those monsters should be in the Eryndor prime city, celebrating alongside some humans."
"We should go there"
"Are you nuts?! Why would you want to go somewhere like that?"
"I have to get answers"
I muttered looking down at my hands, there were things I needed answers to and without them, I don't know how long I can live without these fragments of memories destroying me from within
After all, the word 'celebrating" felt foreign in this dying world
