Chapter 196: So Why Do Reincarnations Still Carry Genetic Information? That Is Not Scientific!

By the time the gene analysis finished, evening had already arrived.

Kenichi had almost nodded off while waiting, but the instant the machine stopped, he jolted awake.

"Let me see… my guess." He leaned in, nervous, eyes locked on the data scrolling across the instrument. Within seconds, his expression shifted.

Itachi's and Shisui's genetic markers were far denser than those of an ordinary Uchiha, similar to Obito's.

"Just as I thought…" Kenichi exhaled, then slumped back into the chair, curling up slightly, eyes unfocused for a moment.

He had suspected the Mangekyo Sharingan was a kind of atavism. Now it looked like he was not completely wrong, only the order was different.

It was not that the Mangekyo awakened first and the genes reverted afterward.

It was the reverse. Only those with the atavistic genes could activate the Mangekyo in the first place.

The conclusion was almost funny in a cruel way.

For the Uchiha, talent was decided at birth.

"But does this count as a breakthrough in Sharingan research?" Kenichi muttered, glancing at the elective assignment he still had not finished. "Or does it only count after I complete the genetic programming for the Sharingan?"

The disappointment hit him harder than it should have.

This discovery already explained the Mangekyo's foundation, yet apparently it still did not qualify as a breakthrough in the way the assignment wanted.

Shisui and Obito had awakened the Sharingan and possessed the Mangekyo. Kenichi could argue their extra genes were tied to awakening.

But Itachi had not even awakened his Sharingan yet, and he already showed the same abundance of extra genetic information as Shisui.

How was that supposed to be explained?

Was Kenichi meant to believe Itachi had secretly activated the Mangekyo already?

Even if he forced himself to accept that, what about the other case?

Kenichi rubbed his temples, the headache building. He had not run every comparison he wanted yet, like a direct contrast between Shisui and Obito, but based on the excess genetic data, the pattern was obvious.

Shisui and Obito matched closely.

Itachi also resembled Obito.

The only clear outlier was Sasuke.

Kenichi did not have Fugaku's genes to confirm it, but he could already guess Fugaku and Sasuke would show a similar structure, with the only question being whether Fugaku possessed the Mangekyo.

Of course, that did not mean Kenichi should immediately hand out the ability to freely toggle the Sharingan on and off.

It meant he needed more test subjects.

But he had just used Konoha's resources today, and he had no idea how that would affect the upcoming deal.

Compared to an ordinary Uchiha, Shisui and Itachi showed ninety eight additional genetic records.

Sasuke, however…

That seemingly ordinary brat had one hundred ninety six more genetic records than Shisui, Itachi, and Obito.

Kenichi stared at the number for a long time.

"Two months from today."

Shiori's earlier words surfaced in his mind. Kenichi looked at the calendar.

Two months.

His teacher had not specified the details, but Kenichi could guess it involved Root and Konoha. He had seen Hiruzen's letter before.

Interesting.

And cruel.

"Lord Amamiya, Lord Orochimaru has gone out on a mission," Shiori reported, composed as always. "He asked me to inform you that the transaction will take place in Misen Town, in the Land of Fire. The specific time is…"

She paused and checked the calendar before continuing.

After confirming it, Kenichi left immediately.

Before he went, he glanced toward the lab holding Hidan.

Hidan's head was probably still submerged in there.

Tragic did not even begin to cover it.

On the biological side, reincarnation made even less sense.

They were born through a normal reproductive process. A mother became pregnant, a child was born, and yet extra genetic information appeared as if it had been inserted.

This just did not make sense.

Kenichi's confusion deepened when he considered Sasuke again.

Sasuke had not even opened the Sharingan yet. Not a single tomoe.

And yet Sasuke's talent was already written into the numbers in a way Kenichi could not ignore.

It was only after he dispelled one of his shadow clones that he realized what had happened.

The realization hit him so hard it felt like a mental collapse.

His teacher had gone out, and Kenichi's shadow clone had escorted Shiori back because the high end gene separation device Kenichi had ordered had arrived. That shadow clone had gone to receive it.

"Wait… what about Naruto?"

Kenichi immediately pulled out the hair he had collected from Naruto earlier and ran a test.

When the results appeared, he froze.

Naruto's genetic profile was also far beyond ordinary shinobi.

A new question rose instantly.

How could Indra's reincarnation affect someone else's genetics?

How was that even possible?

Neither Sasuke nor Naruto had any past life memories.

Kenichi tested Minato and Kushina next. When he compared the results, he discovered Naruto had one hundred ninety six more genetic records than his parents.

"Should I say this was expected?" Kenichi pinched the bridge of his nose, then licked his lips and picked up the report again, reading it line by line.

"Lord Amamiya! I… I…" Kenichi's lips twitched as he watched Koji Tadokoro frantically pull Zero off him. The scene was painful to witness in every possible way.

Carrying the isolated genetic data with him, Kenichi returned to his laboratory. The moment he entered, he saw Shiori cleaning with methodical focus. None of his shadow clones were present.

Compared to an ordinary Uchiha, Sasuke had two hundred ninety four additional genetic records.

"Where's Koji?" Kenichi nodded, then looked at Shiori. With the Uchiha clan's arrival, the need for reliable flight had become far more urgent. He wanted to know whether Koji had improved anything.

"I'm supplying Zero with enough chakra for experiments," Koji said with an awkward smile.

Kenichi gave him a long look, but did not comment. He simply asked about the current progress.

If Fugaku did not have the Mangekyo, the gap would be even more exaggerated. From a purely genetic perspective, if someone had not told you in advance, you would never assume those datasets were even related by blood.

Kenichi let out a slow breath.

"This must be tied to the Otsutsuki bloodline…" He rubbed his temples again, the headache worsening. "I heard that in Boruto, the Otsutsuki seem to have some unique genetic method."

Minato's parents were not Senju.

Uchiha inheritance could be explained through bloodline transmission, even if the details were ugly.

But Naruto?

The last Ashura reincarnation had been Hashirama, and Naruto had no relation to Hashirama at all.

"Mr. Koji is in Laboratory Number Three," Shiori said, calm and efficient. She really was suited to being developed into a secretary. Kenichi could not deny his teacher's judgment there.

Kenichi nodded and headed for Laboratory Three.

The moment he stepped inside, he saw Koji working on something unusually novel.

"But if that's true…" Kenichi rubbed his face, exhausted. "Then reincarnation means you carry your genetic information with you. That's outrageous. Completely unscientific."

At this point, he was certain about the Uchiha's talent structure.

Shisui and Obito's genetics determined they could awaken the Mangekyo.

Itachi's genetics suggested the same.

Only Sasuke was entirely different.

Kenichi suspected Sasuke's excess genetic information was tied to being Indra's reincarnation.

"What are you doing?" Kenichi asked, looking at Koji pressed far too close to Zero, expression complicated. Had this guy really gone so far that he was developing some brand new XP system?

For the first time, Kenichi regretted not watching Boruto. If he had, he might have formed new hypotheses faster.

Now he had to deduce from scratch.

Kenichi glanced around the lab.

The shadow clones he had left behind to handle genetic identification were gone, yet he had not received any memories from them.

Even more absurd was the fact that Itachi and Sasuke were biological brothers, sharing the same parents, yet their genetic profiles were so different that it was fair to say they might not even look like brothers from the data alone.

"That's interesting," Kenichi said quietly. "So is Naruto the same? He and the Fourth Hokage are father and son, but genetics says otherwise."

He snapped his fingers, and a shadow clone silently poured him a cup of tea.

As for entering and exiting the aerial base, Kenichi already had ideas. He planned to use small inventions from the Sky Ninja Village to let people fly freely, though it would require Wind Release chakra. For Uchiha, that would not be a serious issue.

The results on Koji's side were also somewhat effective.

Koji had improved the energy conversion device, increasing its efficiency by two percent.

It sounded minor, almost useless on paper, yet Kenichi was satisfied.

At least it proved Koji was not simply wasting time. Otherwise, Kenichi would have needed a different method to motivate him.

And after checking some materials, Kenichi also confirmed something else.

Fugaku did possess the Mangekyo Sharingan in The True Story of Itachi, but he never used it.
