Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Stark Tower

He coughed up another small mouthful of blood, but the smile on Luca's face didn't diminish in the slightest.

If he hadn't chosen to use his prosthetic arm to block earlier, simply because he hadn't adapted to the loss of his right arm, he might have lost his left arm as well.

With such a joyous occasion, how could Luca not be happy?

He ignored the intense pain and weakness spreading throughout his body.

Looking at Tony Stark in the distance, only two Chitauri soldiers remained.

Because of the previous explosion, Luca's folding light gun was nowhere to be found. He exerted a little force with his left hand, directly tearing off his right prosthetic arm, which was less than a third of its original size, and casually tossed it in front of him.

Immediately after, he pushed off with his right foot, and electric arcs once again flashed on his red and white athletic shoes.

The next moment.

"Bang—"

The shattered prosthetic arm, like a cannonball, instantly shot over a dozen meters from under Luca's foot, hitting the head of a Chitauri soldier with sparks and lightning all the way.

Electric arcs exploded, and parts scattered.

It was unclear whether it was due to the enhancement of the rule's power, or if the force of this blow was just right.

The Chitauri whose head was struck by the 'cannonball' tilted his head, didn't even make a sound, and cleanly fainted.

Tony Stark, who had just eliminated the last Chitauri around him, looked at Luca, whose right forearm was empty, his mouth full of blood, yet he stood ramrod straight with an unceasing smile, and was momentarily stunned.

'This kid...'

Even the experienced Stark didn't know how to evaluate the young man before him at this moment.

However, he knew one thing at least: everything this young man did was to assist him.

But before he could say anything more, a voice came through his armor's comms again.

"Stark! Can you hear me? There's a missile heading for Manhattan!"

Upon hearing Nick Fury's announcement, the expression beneath Tony Stark's faceplate immediately became serious.

After glancing at Luca, who was sitting against a wrecked car, he quickly asked, "How long until the missile arrives?"

"Three minutes at most. The nuclear warhead it carries can level the entire city center!"

Hearing this, Tony Stark dared not delay any longer.

He yelled at Luca in the distance, "Kid, find a place to hide! Don't run around!"

After saying this, flames immediately shot from his limbs, and he rapidly flew into the air.

Watching Iron Man fly away, Luca twitched the corner of his mouth, revealing an ugly smile, and didn't take the other party's words to heart.

He simply propped himself up with one hand and stood up again, his gaze fixed on Stark Tower in the distance, his eyes showing a hint of excitement he hadn't had before.

"A nuclear bomb is coming? Then I'd better hurry up~"

Perhaps even Luca himself didn't notice that, at some point, the thrill of progressing towards his goal had far outweighed his fear of death.

He picked up the backpack that had fallen nearby and then pulled out a 90% new folding light gun from a Chitauri corpse.

Luca pouted with a hint of disdain.

'I don't even have a spatial storage item. I'm really disgracing the Crossings.'

Time flew by in a blink of an eye.

For the next two minutes, Luca didn't engage in combat with any Chitauri soldiers.

Although he felt somewhat overly excited at this point, he still knew the difference between enjoying a thrill and actively seeking death.

While trying his best to avoid enemies and occasionally ambushing with a few shots, Luca witnessed Iron Man carrying the missile straight into the sky and saw the huge hole in the sky close.

Countless Chitauri soldiers fell in droves, like robots whose power had been cut.

The massive Leviathan warships crashed to the ground, and the previously speeding Chitauri airships crashed uncontrollably into buildings and streets.

The few remaining people on the streets went from surprise to cheers, then to crying and wild laughter.

Everyone seemed to be celebrating this hard-won victory.

Only Luca had already hurried to the vicinity of Stark Tower.

"So this is how these guys got upstairs?"

He watched Hulk, one in each hand, carrying Iron Man and Captain America, leap to the top floor of Stark Tower, followed closely by Thor, who was twirling Mjolnir and carrying Hawkeye.

'How did these people get in front of Loki and pose before he woke up?'

This question, which had troubled Luca for a long time, finally had an answer.

'Is it really necessary...'

After shaking his head speechlessly, Luca, who had been paying attention to the movements in the sky, immediately noticed another golden-red figure silently flying into the top floor of the building.

'It's starting...'

He only glanced before retracting his gaze.

Luca's attention was more focused on the first floor of Stark Tower in front of him.

The Chitauri soldiers had only just been dealt with, and the first-floor lobby was still very chaotic.

The Police and rescue personnel hadn't arrived yet, and most of the people on site were Stark Tower employees and nearby civilians.

Some wanted to run out and ask for rescue, while others wanted to run in and seek shelter. The few security guards who were still diligently on duty simply couldn't manage so many people.

If Luca wanted to sneak in at this moment, it would be effortless.

However, he also knew that S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents would arrive soon, and Luca temporarily didn't want to be exposed to them.

Moreover, to prevent Loki from taking the Tesseract, it wasn't necessarily required to enter the building.

After searching around and finding a spot where he could see the entire first floor of the building through the exterior glass, Luca began to wait silently.

Not long after, a large number of Agents arrived at the scene and began to maintain order.

However, at this moment, people were in a state of panic, and the Chitauri, who had been the enemies earlier, had very distinct features.

So, these Agents and the New York Police who followed closely behind were only trying their best to maintain order and evacuate the injured, and did not disperse ordinary civilians.

At the same time, Luca also noticed that above the building, the Tony Stark from the future leaped down and landed in a hidden corner.

Not long after, a fully armed 'S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent' in a special forces uniform walked out from the corner where Tony Stark had disappeared.

However, the 'white light' covering his entire body was simply too conspicuous.

'Nano armor? That's really convenient!'

Watching the disguised Tony walk into the building, and watching Loki, escorted by the Avengers, take the elevator downstairs and appear in the lobby, Luca also twisted the knob on his Power Enhancement Shoes again.

After thinking for a moment, he also took out the [Little Monkey Bomb], which was missing a hex crystal, from his backpack.

However, just as Luca finished this action, he suddenly realized that the surrounding noisy environment had suddenly fallen silent. The previously loud Police sirens and the continuous shouts of the crowd seemed to have been abruptly cut off.
