Allyson's POV
My eyes swept the crowded room until they landed on Reagan. He stood near the elevated platform, chatting with several unfamiliar faces. The instant he spotted me, his expression brightened considerably.
"Allyson!" His voice carried across the space as he politely extracted himself from his conversation. Within moments, he was beside me, his palm settling against my forearm with familiar ease.
"I was beginning to think you wouldn't show up. You look absolutely stunning tonight."
Heat crept up my neck at his compliment, especially with so many curious gazes following our interaction.
Without warning, Reagan opened his arms and drew me against him in an embrace that felt far too intimate for the public setting. My pulse quickened, not from his touch, but from the realization that dozens of people were observing every second.
From somewhere behind me, Snow's voice drifted over, "I should give you two some privacy. It looks like the big moment is finally here."
