Chapter 95: Electromagnetic Lines

A line of light blue text flashed before his eyes: Hunted Pink Rathian, Evolution Points +15.

Logan slowly withdrew his massive tail blade from the Pink Rathian's split forehead. He gave the blade a light flick, shaking off the mixture of red and white fluids clinging to the edge. He mused to himself—this fellow's strength wasn't much to write home about, yet she was surprisingly "valuable" when it came to Evolution Points. Was it because she was a subspecies?

Speaking of which, since he had been reborn into this world, he hadn't yet tasted Rathian meat. Now was his chance to feast, especially since he'd heard that Rathian tongue was a rare delicacy. He couldn't help but feel a spark of anticipation.

Just as Logan was preparing to start gorging himself on the spot, he caught a glimpse of three Grimalkynes out of the corner of his eye. They were rapidly scaling the vines spreading across the cliff face. It suddenly clicked—in the past, he'd had no choice due to various limitations, but now that he had the Grimalkynes to help, he could try "cooked" cuisine. Surely that would be a different kind of flavor altogether.

He gave a gentle pat to Zhu Peiniang, who was already impatiently tucking in, then turned his gaze toward the three Grimalkynes and let out a low, rumbling growl.

"Can you help me prepare this Rathian? In exchange, you can have the scales, shell, bones, and anything else like that."

After the white Grimalkyne acted as a translator, the other two felines' eyes instantly lit up.

"We can do that, meow!"

"Of course, no problem at all, meow!"

For Logan, when facing all sorts of monsters, the standard for measuring their value was always simple and direct: food.

Those sturdy scales, sharp claws, and unique furs were, in his eyes, often nothing more than "kitchen waste" to be tossed aside. However, for intelligent creatures like hunters and Grimalkynes, these seemingly useless items were precious raw materials essential for crafting weapons and armor.

It was no exaggeration to say that often, it was the desire for these materials—rather than just the need to fill their bellies—that drove them to risk their lives hunting dangerous monsters.

In this way, Logan and the Grimalkynes' needs aligned perfectly, creating a win-win situation.

The Pink Rathian before them was eighteen meters long—a truly staggering size. The materials on its body were almost enough to craft armor for every single cat in the Grimalkyne tribe. Without the help of two massive beasts like Logan and Zhu Peiniang, simply figuring out how to transport it back would have been a headache.

It took them nearly twice as long as the journey there to drag the heavy Pink Rathian to the mouth of the open cave. One Grimalkyne ran ahead to report back to the tribe, and before long, a large swarm of cats came pouring out like a tide.

They called out with cheerful enthusiasm, wielding various knives and tools as they excitedly began butchering the Rathian's carcass.

After a monster dies, the Bio-Energy flowing through its body gradually returns to nature. Simultaneously, the physical toughness of its flesh drops by a grade. Even so, for the Grimalkynes, carving through the gaps between the Rathian's shell and scales was a difficult task that took a great deal of effort to complete.

Large quantities of fresh raw meat and various edible parts were placed into giant shells, while piles of bonfires were already being built in a spacious clearing nearby. Some had massive roasting racks set over them, while others held large spiral shells filled with water.

The cats picked out various strange plants, mincing and mixing them until a unique, pungent fragrance filled the air. Meanwhile, some giant insects were sizzled in hot oil; the protein underwent the Maillard reaction under the high heat, releasing a rich aroma.

By now, the sun had long since dipped below the horizon, and night had draped over the world like a massive sheet of black silk. But this didn't dampen the cats' enthusiasm one bit. The flickering firelight illuminated the semi-open cave, making the atmosphere vibrant and festive.

Large slabs of roasted meat, thick soups shimmering with oil, coral salads, and fried insect snacks...

All kinds of delicacies were served before Logan and Zhu Peiniang like a flowing stream. While not exactly "refined," the sheer volume satisfied their bottomless appetites.

To ensure he successfully obtained Evolution Points, Logan still chose to eat certain key internal organs—like the heart and liver—raw. As the familiar blue light flashed before his eyes again, another ten Evolution Points were safely banked.

This grand feast continued in high spirits until nearly dawn before finally winding down. By then, almost nothing remained of the once-massive Pink Rathian. Not only was the meat picked clean, but even the bones had been dismantled, leaving only scattered scraps behind.

Once the banquet officially ended, some small animals, lured by the scent, emerged from their hidden corners. They peered around warily, constantly checking for danger before beginning to enjoy these rare "gifts."

It wouldn't be long before these remains were completely digested by nature. Perhaps only the shells collected by the Grimalkynes to be made into weapons and armor would remain as proof that this Pink Rathian had once existed in this world.

If I die one day, I'll probably end up just like this Rathian, won't I?

Logan lay quietly in the cave, a slightly melancholy thought drifting through his mind. But he quickly shook his head and tossed the idea aside.

During the previous battle with the Pink Rathian, he hadn't come out unscathed. Many of his scales had been twisted and deformed by the sheer impact. Now, with the continuous intake of nutrients, they were slowly recovering.

The scales that were too severely damaged gradually fell from his skin as the underlying capillaries and neurons retracted, hitting the ground with a crisp clink.

During this process, he dumped all of his twenty-plus newly acquired Evolution Points into his Electric Organs. A familiar warm current emerged, coiling around his entire spine.

The spine is a vital "highway" for information processing in living beings. It acts as a sturdy bridge connecting the brain to the rest of the body. Its complex and exquisite internal neural transmission structure can almost be called a second central processing hub. In a creature's daily life, instinctive reactions like urination or the knee-jerk reflex are controlled directly by the spine without needing to pass through the brain.

Now, in this area already dense with neurons, a frantic proliferation began. In the gaps between the vertebrae, the vigorously growing neurons pushed upward, threading through the surrounding muscle and skin until they were finally exposed to the air.

The newborn neural bundles looked like tiny tentacles emitting a mysterious blue light. But as time passed, their surfaces began to take on the silver sheen unique to metal, and they continued to grow in length.

This change stemmed from the series of highly conductive metals Logan had consumed recently—copper, silver, aluminum, and more. Under the combined influence of Bio-Energy and Evolution Points, these underwent a strange and wonderful catalytic reaction.

This transformation lasted for an entire week. When everything finally settled, these silver tentacles had reached varying lengths of twenty to thirty meters. Corresponding to the number of vertebrae in Logan's body, there were 144 in total.

Among them, thirty-six longer silver tentacles were distributed across his torso, while the other 108 shorter silver tentacles spiraled around his long, powerful tail.

These silver tentacles were a special sensory organ—or rather, they could be viewed as electromagnetic induction lines.

Whenever a current surged through them, their surfaces pulsed with a rhythmic blue-white light. They encircled Logan's body and limbs, working in tandem with the pair of massive "Pale Horns" on his head to generate a powerful magnetic field around him at all times.

The speed of static electricity accumulation in the surrounding air began to skyrocket, pouring into Logan's body. Consequently, both his electrical storage capacity and discharge intensity were massively upgraded. He was essentially a miniature power station, generating immense energy at every moment.
