Chapter 262 - Chapter 262: Exploring Abilities, Evolution Occurs Silently

Recalling these thoughts, Lacus turned her gaze to Felix. Noticing her look, Felix met her eyes with gentle warmth.

Under their mutual gaze, Lacus spoke first.

"I've heard of the Seed Factor, but this genetic marker can only be detected through scientific instruments."

At this point, Lacus pressed her lips together.

"But sensing it through direct physical contact with others—this is the first time I've heard of such a thing."

Hearing Lacus's words, Felix nodded lightly and replied.

"It's a first for me as well."

After a moment of contemplation, Lacus asked thoughtfully.

"Can you only sense the Seed Factor?"

Shaking his head, Felix responded to Lacus.

"I'm not entirely sure what exactly I can sense, since this is my first time experiencing it."

Upon hearing this, Lacus's expression turned serious. After careful consideration, she suggested.

"Perhaps you should try to focus and explore this sensation further?"

Looking at Lacus, Felix nodded firmly in agreement. He raised his hand and placed it on Lacus's shoulder, closing his eyes to concentrate deeply on this ability.

As he intensified his focus, Felix suddenly felt the Seed Factor within him seemed to be pulling at the Seed Factor inside Lacus.

This pull felt as though it was trying to elevate the activity level of Lacus's Seed Factor to match the intensity of his own.

While Felix was immersed in this sensation, Lacus furrowed her brows, experiencing an unusual feeling within her body.

This sensation grew increasingly distinct in her mind.

'What is happening?'

She wondered inwardly.

Suddenly, Lacus felt a sharp pain in her head.

She reached up and unconsciously massaged her temples.

'Why does my head hurt?'

Just as Lacus was rubbing her temples, Felix happened to open his eyes. Seeing her condition, he asked with deep concern.

"Lacus, are you alright?"

Hearing this, Lacus looked up and met Felix's worried gaze, then shook her head.

"I'm fine."

In response, Felix's expression hardened, and he spoke seriously.

"If you were truly fine, you wouldn't have emphasized it so deliberately."

Saying this, his intense eyes remained fixed on Lacus.

Feeling the warmth of Felix's concern, Lacus explained her situation to him.

"It's just that I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head a moment ago."

Felix looked puzzled and repeated.

"A sharp pain?"

Lacus turned her gaze to Felix, choosing not to dwell on the topic, and instead continued.

"Felix, shall we continue exploring?"

Upon hearing this, Felix firmly refused.

"No!"

Removing his hand from her shoulder, Felix took Lacus's delicate hand in his, his expression tense and worried as he said.

"I can't take any risks with you."

Feeling a warmth in her heart, Lacus replied with a concerned tone.

"But in that case, there's no way to test out your unique ability?"

Felix smiled, his expression open and unreserved as he spoke.

"If it can't be tested, then so be it. It doesn't matter whether it exists or not."

Upon hearing this, Lacus fixed her gaze on Felix.

After a long while, Lacus stopped trying to persuade him further.

...

Two hours later,

Aric sent over the completed evacuation plan.

Seeing the notification on the computer, Felix turned to Lacus and said gently,

"Lacus, I'm going to take a look at that document. I'll keep you company again in a bit."

Hearing this, Lacus replied with a soft smile,

"I'll look at it with you."

Turning to Lacus, Felix agreed to her request without a second thought.

The two stood up simultaneously and walked over to the computer.

"Lacus, the chair opposite can be unlocked and removed using magnetic adhesion."

Just as he was about to sit down, Felix commented while looking at the chair across from him. After saying this, Felix promptly got up and personally removed the chair, bringing it over to his side.

Placing the chair beside him, Felix pressed the magnetic adhesion button. As electricity generated magnetism, the chair was firmly secured to the ground once again.

Lacus sat on this chair, while Felix took the other one.

While Felix operated the computer, Lacus leaned sideways and rested her head on his shoulder. Glancing at her out of the corner of his eye, Felix revealed a doting smile.

After smiling, Felix turned his attention to the computer.

Just as he was about to start working, Felix spoke with a hint of concern,

"Lacus, I'm a bit worried that what happened earlier might occur again."

"It's fine." Lacus shook her head slightly and lifted her gaze to look at Felix. "I think as long as you don't deliberately think about it, that kind of thing won't happen."

Having said this, Lacus nuzzled her head against Felix's shoulder, finding a comfortable position to continue leaning on him.

Felix looked at Lacus, pondering her words, and feeling they made sense, he didn't press the matter further.

His focus shifted entirely to the computer.

Just as the two had completely put the matter aside, the Seed Factor within Felix's body began to act on its own, like a mischievous child.

Under its influence, Lacus didn't feel any stinging pain, but a wave of drowsiness spread through her.

Before she knew it, Lacus had fallen asleep.

While reviewing the plan, Felix felt the steady rhythm of Lacus's breathing against his shoulder.

Glancing sideways at Lacus and seeing she was asleep, Felix smiled affectionately before returning his attention to the evacuation plan.

Over ten minutes later,

Felix finished reading all the content.

Turning to look at Lacus, who was still sound asleep, Felix couldn't bring himself to disturb her.

And so, the two sat quietly in their chairs.

One was fast asleep, while the other quietly admired the sleeping figure.

...

Another hour passed in this manner. Just as Felix began to feel a slight ache in his shoulder, a communication alert appeared on the computer screen.

Seeing the incoming call, Felix muted it first to avoid disturbing Lacus, then checked the communication details.

"Is there something you need?"

Looking at Aric on the screen, Felix inquired softly. When Aric noticed Lacus sleeping against Felix's shoulder, he immediately understood and responded in an equally hushed tone.

"Captain, what do you think of the plan?"

Hearing the question, Felix nodded in agreement.

"The overall plan is sound. We can proceed directly with this evacuation plan."

"Yes, Captain."
