Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Battle Begins, The Defense Commences

Watching the two Dogfight Missiles flying toward him at high speed, Felix pulled the trigger. The muzzle of the Heavy Assault Machine Gun flashed as bullets shot out from the barrel.

Two bursts of fire lit up as the Dogfight Missiles were successfully shot down by the bullets.

With the crisis averted, Felix observed the Mobile Armor that had just launched a decent offensive. He realized that real-world Mobile Armors were vastly different from the NPC-like ones in anime.

"Reality and anime really are different," Felix murmured to himself.

On the screen, Felix watched the coordinated attack between two veteran pilots. It dawned on him that although the academy had taught him many things and he had achieved good results there, some skills could only be honed on the battlefield.

"It seems some things need to be tempered in combat before they can be truly mastered and internalized," Felix muttered, his eyes fixed on the screen.

Just then, the Mobile Armor that had launched the attack against Felix came charging at high speed while firing.

The Mobile Armor's dash was swift.

Felix maneuvered the GINN to evade the incoming bullets while using the attitude control thrusters to adjust the mobile suit's position.

As the MS and MA passed each other, the GINN drew the Heavy Sword from its waist and slashed at the Mobile Armor's rear section.

In an instant, the Mobile Armor's propulsion system was destroyed.

Thick smoke billowed from the Mobile Armor's tail section.

As it turned to aim its weapons at the GINN, Felix controlled his machine to deliver a finishing blow.

The sword came down on the Mobile Armor's midsection. With a clean, swift motion, the Mobile Armor was cleaved in two.

The Mobile Armor exploded into a ball of fire in space.

Before he could catch his breath after destroying this enemy, the radar showed two more Mobile Armors rapidly maneuvering toward his position.

The screen projected images of these two Mobile Armors.

Watching the projections, Felix controlled the GINN to perform evasive maneuvers in space.

He analyzed the Mobile Armors' movements, searching for a way to break through the current situation.

Time passed minute by minute.

Two or three minutes later, an opportunity presented itself to Alex.

Raising the large-caliber Heavy Assault Machine Gun and aiming it forward, the GINN's finger pulled the trigger.

A three-round burst fired out!

The bullets traveled through space, heading straight for one of the Mobile Armors.

The Mobile Armor pilot watched the feedback from the radar.

Gripping the control stick tightly, he maneuvered the Mobile Armor through space.

Just as he evaded the three bullets, the system began to alarm, and the screen flashed red repeatedly.

"What's happening?" he asked himself unconsciously.

The screen zoomed in, revealing the GINN raising its Heavy Assault Machine Gun.

"This guy predicted my maneuvers!" he realized, gritting his teeth.

The screen then showed the GINN charging toward him, the distance between them closing rapidly.

"Cover me!"he shouted to his comrade, not caring about other considerations."

The other MA pilots coordinating the assault on Felix heard their comrade's call. Without hesitation or pause, they piloted their own MAs to disrupt the GINN's movements.

The propulsion systems erupted with even greater thrust.

The MAs accelerated through space, their mounted machine cannons firing rapidly at the GINN.

A concentrated barrage poured toward the GINN piloted by Felix.

As the torrent of firepower appeared on his screen, Felix didn't hesitate for even a moment. His hands moved continuously, issuing streams of commands that were integrated by the computer and ultimately executed.

Under these movement commands, the GINN maneuvered to evade the dense hail of fire. Seizing the opportunity, Felix opened fire with the Heavy Assault Machine Gun.

Precise counterfire streaked toward the attacking MA.

"Bastard!"

The MA pilot cursed aloud while urgently maneuvering his unit through emergency evasions in space.

The evasive actions barely managed to dodge the incoming rounds.

Before he could recover his stance, he saw the GINN charging toward his comrade again.

His fellow pilot didn't last two seconds before being eliminated by the GINN's Heavy Assault Machine Gun.

"Damn it!"

Witnessing his comrade's death before his eyes, the pilot's eyes turned bloodshot as he growled the curse through gritted teeth.

After the outburst, he piloted his MA toward the GINN, fingers squeezing the trigger as the machine cannon fired continuously.

An extremely concentrated stream of fire poured toward the GINN.

Seeing the intense barrage, Felix controlled the GINN to evade while steadily advancing toward the MA through space.

The distance between them in the void kept shrinking.

The MA pilot maneuvered his unit, while Felix controlled the GINN to mirror the movements.

During these synchronized maneuvers,

the GINN drew its Heavy Sword. Felix seized the moment and commanded the GINN to bring the Heavy Sword down in a decisive slash.

With that single strike, the MA's cockpit section was shattered.

The pilot inside died instantly.

Shortly after the pilot's death, the MA exploded into a ball of fire that illuminated a patch of space.

Having dealt with this opponent, Felix kept the GINN stationary, his eyes fixed intently on the main screen.

Beep! Beep! Beep!!!

Urgent alarm sounds continuously echoed through the cockpit.

Hearing the frantic alerts and observing the data from radar and main screen displays,

Felix immediately took control of the GINN.

The GINN raised its Heavy Assault Machine Gun and fired at the incoming missiles.

After destroying several missiles, Felix piloted the GINN into evasive maneuvers.

Dodging the incoming bullets,

he turned and aimed the gun forward to return fire.

The counterfire forced the attacking MAs to alter their assault formation.

Though their formation changed, they maintained their speed while closing in on the GINN.

Multiple MAs opened fire from different angles targeting the GINN.

Watching the information displayed on his screens, Felix's mind raced as he calculated how to break through this encirclement.

The solution came to him almost instantly.

His hands moved according to the plan formed in his mind, and the GINN executed the movement commands from Felix's controls.

Through precise maneuvering, it evaded all incoming attacks.

Then it turned and rapidly returned fire.

This shot was faster than any previous firing, so swift that the MA pilot in the bullet's trajectory failed to react quickly enough.

By the time he realized and attempted to evade, the MA had already been hit.

Though it didn't explode directly, the MA's dodging maneuver exposed its propulsion system to the bullet's path, resulting in the system being struck.

The destructive power of the large-caliber bullet completely disabled the MA's mobility.

As Felix prepared to finish it off, the remaining MAs moved to intercept GINN's actions. Under the suppressive fire, Felix had no choice but to abandon the attempt.

GINN dodged the attacks, gripping the Heavy Sword in one hand and the Heavy Assault Machine Gun in the other, constantly seeking openings to strike while evading.

The MAs continuously adjusted their positions through maneuvers while maintaining long-range attacks. Felix observed these movements closely, using them to predict the trajectory of one particular MA.
