Ha-joon blinked as the world around him shifted. When the dizziness faded, he found himself standing in the middle of a massive forest. The trees towered above him colossal trunks stretching nearly a hundred meters tall, like twenty-story buildings carved from living wood. Their bark was pale and smooth like birch, and their leaves were enormous, some as big as his head.
"…Where is this place?" he whispered.
He took a cautious step forward, brushing aside giant ferns. The forest smelled fresh, almost sweet, and strangely peaceful until he heard faint footsteps, fast and frantic.
Danger.
His instincts screamed. Survival came first.
Ha-joon immediately dove into a thick bush, gripping the hilt of his E-rank sword. The weapon had cost him over ten million won basically his entire savings. If he died here, it would truly be a waste.
Through the leaves, he watched five small figures sprinting between the trees… goblins. They were tiny barely over three feet tall, looking almost like five-year-old children with green skin. Weirdly cute compared to the red goblins he knew on Blue Star.
A silver wolf chased behind them, fangs bared.
One goblin stumbled, falling face-first into the dirt.
The wolf lunged and bit into the back of its neck without hesitation.
The remaining four goblins skidded to a halt and turned back to help. The largest one swung a wooden club, striking the wolf's side. The beast let out a pained growl, but quickly regained its balance, circling them with predatory calm.
The smallest goblin unarmed tried to run but the wolf slashed its chest open in one quick swipe. In the same second, the wolf pounced on the club-wielder, biting deep into its arm. Screams echoed.
The two goblins holding wooden stakes charged desperately, but their attacks were clumsy. The wolf seized one by the torso and hurled it aside, then slashed the frail-looking goblin across the chest. The little creature fell backward, trembling, eyes squeezed shut as the wolf pressed a heavy paw on its torso, lowering its jaws toward its face.
Ha-joon didn't think.
He moved.
In a single motion, his blade sliced cleanly through the wolf's neck.
Blood sprayed, hot and metallic. The wolf collapsed without a sound.
The goblin beneath it froze, then slowly opened its eyes. When it saw him, it stared in shock… then awe.
Ha-joon stepped back, panting. What the hell am I doing saving goblins? He glanced at them again. Why are they so small…?
Nothing about them matched the goblins from Blue Star.
He turned to walk away but a soft, weak screech reached his ears.
The goblin with the claw wound lay twitching on the ground, bleeding heavily.
Ha-joon hesitated. It's a monster… I shouldn't get involved.
But the tiny green body shivering in the dirt.
He sighed.
"…Fine."
He knelt down and placed his hand over its chest.
Heal.
A faint warm light soft yellow spread across the goblin's body. For the first time, Ha-joon felt magic actually flow out of him. The wound closed slowly, the bleeding stopped, and the goblin's breathing steadied.
Ha-joon quickly stepped back. "Okay, done. attacking don't attack me."
But instead of attacking.
The goblin dropped to its knees.
It bowed.
Again.
And again.
Forehead touching the ground repeatedly.
"H-Hey, what are you?"

"We apologize for our rudeness! Please don't kill us!"

The goblins were visibly moved.
In their eyes… Ha-joon glowed with a faint halo.
