Three letters stopped her mid-scroll.
D.R., 10 AM, November 14th. The calendar entry sat in the shared digital system Julian had given her access to,ostensibly so they could coordinate on the logistics of married life. Iris stared at the initials. Daniel Hartwell had disappeared on November 15th. One day after this meeting.
She took a screenshot and kept scrolling.
The rest of November was mundane,business meetings with names spelled out fully, restaurant reservations, a dermatology appointment. But D.R. appeared twice more that month. Once on the 7th. Again on the 22nd, three days after Daniel's body was found.
Iris closed the laptop and listened to the penthouse around her.
Julian had left at 8 AM, mentioning something about meetings uptown. He wouldn't return until late. The space stretched around her,all glass and controlled silence, waiting to be searched. She'd lived in the penthouse for five days and had barely explored beyond her suite and the dining room.
