Chapter 72 - The Descent To The Devil.

Chapter—The Descent To The Devil.

In the quiet aftermath of the chaos at the plaza,Next day a diverse group stood in a protective circle around Kael. The Luke Illusion, Auron, Kaizen, Marin, Liod, Uno, and Chika watched as the darkness finally receded from the boy's eyes. Nearby, Evelyn, hidden behind her clever disguise, watched with bated breath.

Kael looked up, his face etched with a deep, painful sincerity. "I am sorry," he whispered, his voice cracking as he looked at each of them. "To Luke... to my friends Uno, Chika, Liod, and Marin. You all got hurt because of me. I let myself be used, and I can never take back the pain I caused you while I was fighting."

Auron stepped forward, his blue aura humming softly. "It is okay, Kael. We are here now. But we need to know—where was this devil? What happened to you?"

Kael took a deep breath, clutching his head as memories resurfaced. "After the battle, I was so upset... I felt like a failure, so I stayed hidden. I never came out during the day. I only went out at night for my food supplies so no one would see me. That night, I was coming back from the 24/7 store when I heard a voice. A trail of blue light appeared out of nowhere. It led me deep into the dense forest, toward a massive, singular rock. After I touched it... I don't remember much."

Auron's eyes narrowed. "Can you guide us back?"

"Probably," Kael said, standing up on shaky legs. "I was just following the trail, but I remember one specific thing. In that dense forest, right next to the rock, there were no trees at all. Just a circle of dead earth."

"A dead zone," Auron noted. "That helps a lot. We need to head toward this base immediately."

Marin interrupted before Auron could lead the way. "We are going too."

Auron turned, his expression stern. "There is a massive risk. I would prefer you stay behind."

"No worries," Liod said, slamming his fists together as sparks of aura flew. "Our guild, Aurafeist, was made for exactly this. We don't leave people behind."

Kael stepped forward with a new-found resolve. "I will also go. This happened because of me. I want to face the devil who manipulated and controlled my mind."

Auron sighed, but he saw the determination in their eyes. "Fine. But if I see any sign of extreme danger, you must leave immediately. That is my only condition."

As the group prepared to depart, Auron noticed Kaizen still sitting in his room, his gaze fixed on the floor. He looked hollow, a shadow of the powerful man he once was.

"Kaizen!" Evelyn shouted, her voice sharp with anger. "Are you really going to sit there? Are you still following those wasted Council orders while we risk everything?"

"I follow the laws, Evelyn," Kaizen replied coldly, not looking up.

"Then follow your laws and your orders into your grave!" she snapped, turning away.

Auron lingered for a second, looking back at the "Kaizen, you don't look like before. You are devoid of your power and your aura. I think we need a talk later—if we make it back."

Marin, trying to fill the gap of their missing teammates, pointed at the disguised Evelyn. "Since Kaizen isn't coming... I know a girl named as Evelyn same as your Auramaster of America , who could help a lot. Should I call her, Auron?"

Evelyn who is both same person was in trouble though "I should came here as my normal ,if they called me they will know my identity."

Auron looked at the 'stranger' in disguise and offered a subtle, knowing glance. "I don't think that is required. I think... she might be busy elsewhere. We have enough strength here." Evelyn felt a wave of gratitude toward Auron for protecting her secret identity from the others.

They departed the city, following Kael's lead deep into the ancient forest. Eventually, they reached the clearing Kael had described. Amidst the lush, towering trees, a perfect circle of grey, dead soil surrounded a massive, smooth rock.

The rock did not slide open as it had for Kael. Without a word, Auron stepped forward and threw a concentrated Aura Sphere. The impact shattered the stone, revealing a dark, yawning entrance that smelled of ozone and decay.

As they entered, the air changed. It was heavy, pulsing with a rhythmic throb that felt like a heartbeat. For Marin, Liod, and the others, it was their first time in a true devil's dungeon. The atmosphere was thick with malice, but Kael and Auron moved with a grim familiarity.

Suddenly, a voice echoed from the shadows.

"So, you finally came, unique Auramaster."

A tall, spindly figure stepped out of the darkness. His skin was the color of bruised plums, and his eyes glowed with a sickly yellow light. He looked at Auron with a mocking grin. "You look pretty weak compared to when we met before. Is this all you have brought to my doorstep?"

"What do you mean and want?" Auron asked, his hands glowing.

"I will defeat you and take you to our King," the devil hissed. "You will be the best gift our King could ask for upon his awakening."

"You have a King too?" Marin asked, her voice trembling but her stance firm.

Kael stepped forward, his voice a roar. "You manipulated me! I will not spare you for what you did!"

The devil laughed, a sound like dry leaves skittering on a grave. "Kael... there is still time. Join me. This world only speaks for power. You know the truth now."

"You are wrong!" Kael shouted back. "This world works on emotions and feelings. Power is just a way of judging people, but it isn't who we are. You can't manipulate me anymore!"

Auron stepped into a fighting stance. "I think you have your answer. You'll never change like Kael , so let's begin."

"Spread out!" Auron commanded. "Don't let him attack us all at once! Distract him!" He then looked at his Luke Illusion and command him from.mind. "Stay back. The force of his aura could make you disappear if you get caught in the crossfire."

"Now! Fire!" Auron shouted.

Everyone unleashed a simultaneous Aura Sphere. A barrage of blue, red, and silver energy streaked toward the devil. But just as the attacks were about to land, the devil vanished into thin air.

"Above you!" Chika screamed.

The devil was spinning in mid-air, his hands wreathed in corrupted, dark energy. He unleashed a series of dark spheres that hit the ground like mortar shells. Liod and Uno, being the closest to the blast, were knocked backward.

"We're fine!" Liod yelled, pushing himself up, though his arm was singed.

Marin launched a counter-attack, but the devil's speed was insane. He navigated the cramped dungeon with admirable agility, matching Auron's own speed. Auron fired a series of precision spheres, but the devil dodged them as if he were dancing.

"Aura Reversal!" Auron shouted. "Whoever knows it, use it now!"

Marin, Liod, the Luke Illusion, Auron, and Evelyn all synchronized. The air began to pull inward, creating a vacuum designed to trap a fast-moving target. A few of the reverse-spheres clipped the devil's wings, but he merely snarled.

"Is this all the power you have?" the devil laughed, hovering high above the jagged rocks.

Suddenly, Kael leaped from behind a pillar, his face set in a mask of determination. "Power doesn't matter!" he screamed. He slammed a heavy aura sphere into the devil's side.

The impact dealt significant damage, pushing the devil back against the cavern wall. The monster snarled, looking at Kael with genuine surprise. "Kael... you were strong after all. You managed to withhold your true potential. Now... pay for your betrayal!"

The devil flew even higher into the vaulted ceiling. He began to draw in the shadows, forming a giant, bloated aura sphere that pulsed with a terrifying intensity. He aimed it at the group below.

"Helpless bugs!" he shrieked, hurling the massive projectile.

Auron and Evelyn immediately stepped to the front, weaving their energies together to create a massive Aura Shield. The dark sphere collided with the shield, the pressure so great that the ground beneath their feet began to crack.

"He's attacking from the top!" Evelyn shouted, her voice strained under the weight of the shield. "How can we hit him while we're stuck defending?"

The devil laughed, preparing a second strike. "You are finished!"

BOOM.

Suddenly, a massive, blindingly bright Aura Sphere struck the devil squarely in the back. The monster was sent crashing into the ground, his dark energy scattering like smoke.

The group turned in amazement to the entrance.

Standing there was Kaizen, his hands still glowing with a gold-white light. His face was no longer hollow; it was filled with the fire of an ancient warrior.

"I will never let my friends get hurt by anyone," Kaizen said, his voice echoing through the dungeon with a power that shook the very foundations of the earth. "Not as long as I am alive."
