Chapter 219 - Scheduler Clock

"Hurry up and eat! You only have ten minutes to eat, and then we have to move on to the next item on the schedule!!"

In Mito's bewildered gaze, a clock with a peculiar appearance walked in from the doorway.

It had a single support leg that slid its body along, and two long arms extended from either side of the clock's body.

It looked like a clock robot.

"What is this thing?!!"

Mito stared at the sudden intruder in confusion, but when it started moving toward Gon, her body instinctively stepped in front of him.

"It's a Scheduler Clock. It's here to help me organize my daily training schedule."

Gon, who had just swept the food in front of him clean, swallowed and said truthfully to Mito.

Invention: Scheduler Clock

Origin: Doraemon World — Future Tech Company

Function: It takes the form of a clock-shaped robot. You write the scheduled tasks and times on cards and insert them, and it will make the person follow the schedule exactly.

Even if there are objective obstacles, like rain when it's time to exercise, it shows no leniency. If the person disobeys, it will pursue them, so it also has a tracking function.

Originally, it was designed because Nobita always dawdled and wasted time. To correct his bad habits, Doraemon brought out this Scheduler Clock to manage Nobita's time.

Nobita planned to do homework from 2:30 to 3:00, have a snack at 3:00, go to the bathroom after the snack, then watch TV at 3:30, and then go play baseball.

The schedule was well arranged, but… when inserting the timetable into the device, Nobita placed it horizontally.

The useless Nobita couldn't fit it in, so Doraemon had to help place it vertically.

As a result, the timetable became Doraemon's personal schedule.

The key function of this invention is that whoever inserts the schedule must follow it themselves.

Under the clock's supervision, Doraemon had no choice but to start doing homework.

When Nobita's mother brought dorayaki for a snack, Doraemon wanted to eat, but was stopped by the clock.

He could only watch Nobita eat his share and go play outside.

At snack time, Doraemon had to hold an empty plate and pretend to eat, then pretend to go to the bathroom.

Even at TV time, even if the TV was broken, he had to watch the broken TV.

Yes, plans could never catch up with changes, and these changes couldn't allow the plan to continue.

But under the Scheduler Clock's supervision, he had no choice but to follow it.

Finally, at 4:00, it was baseball time.

Doraemon thought he could finally relax a bit.

But it started raining, yet he still had to practice baseball alone in the open space under supervision.

He played for over an hour in the rain.

Doraemon couldn't take it anymore and tried to escape. The clock chased him relentlessly.

Even if he hid in Dekisugi's cupboard, the clock tracked him and forced him out using its hands.

By the time it was 6:00 pm, dinner time, it was too late to return home.

Under the clock's schedule, Doraemon had to eat at Dekisugi's house.

It can be said that this invention is extremely rigid and shows no consideration or reasoning at all.

There are quite a few inventions with similar functions to the Scheduler Clock.

Luke didn't just bring the Scheduler Clock for Gon.

There was another invention, the Human Time Switch: A watch-type gadget. You schedule tasks and times in advance, and when the time comes, it forces the user to do the task. If the user resists, it tightens.

The difference is that, under the Scheduler Clock, the supervised person still retains some autonomy.

But the Human Time Switch directly controls your body, forcibly making you perform the task at the designated time.

One is active, the other passive.

When Luke presented both inventions to Gon and let him choose, there was no doubt that he chose the former.

In his subconscious, he naturally avoided having his body controlled by others.

This is a trait of a professional hunter, maintaining autonomy and freedom.

Facing the Scheduler Clock, he still retained a degree of independence...

After selecting this invention, Luke unceremoniously assigned Gon a series of schedules.

Then he had Gon input the schedules into the Scheduler Clock himself.

Hence, the current situation.

The Scheduler Clock followed Gon directly home.

From meals to rest, not to mention daily training, everything had extremely detailed arrangements…

With the training methods extracted from Biscuit's memories, Luke formulated schedules that laid a solid foundation for Gon without forcing, overexerting, or limiting his potential.

It even enhanced Gon's physical abilities and talents, further stimulating his gifts.

Gon had no objections and fully supported this training, even though it could be boring, tedious, and highly restrictive.

But he knew that to become an outstanding professional hunter, these were trials he must endure.

"Ging must have suffered a lot and worked hard to become an excellent professional hunter, right?"

Effort... Perhaps.

Even Ging's extraordinary talent wouldn't reach such heights without effort and training.

As for suffering… Ging hadn't really suffered much.

From what Luke learned from Ickshonpe, Ging's first half of life had been filled with the finest cuisine from all over the world, cooked by famous Gourmet Hunters…

But hardly any hardship.

All the bitterness, sweetness, spiciness, and sourness along the way were only known to Ging himself; there was no real suffering.

"Scheduler Clock? What's that?"

Mito repeated Gon's words, then frowned and looked at him: "Where did you get this thing?!"

Clearly, this thing was aimed at Gon; it had to be related to him.

And since it allowed Gon to eat here, and judging from the name, Mito could roughly guess its function… her expression grew serious.

However, Gon's next words surprised her slightly.

"It's from Ging's friend."

He said it truthfully; he never deceived his family.

Yes, when facing enemies or rivals, he might be a bit flexible…

"Ging's friend?!"

Even though Mito had suspected this thing might be related to Ging, this answer still made her pause in surprise.

"Ging... He actually has friends?!"

A trace of disbelief appeared in Mito's eyes, and she unconsciously said it aloud.

Gon thought: "... Is it so incredible that Ging has friends?!"

Even Aunt Mito found it shocking that someone like Ging could have friends.

In other words, his father, Ging, must really be an unapproachable person.

For a moment, Gon felt complex emotions about the father he had never met.
