Chapter 1 - the princess

the two little girls were happily playing within the safe walks of their home the sound of their laughter like music to the ears of their caring mother as she entered the bedroom and smiled kindly scooping each one of her daughters into her arms "children...it's midnight you need to sleep" the girls pouted and looked up at their mother with sorrow in their eyes "then we want a bed time story!" the said in unison crossing their arms over their chests as their mother laughed softly and took a seat on the armchair beside the bed "a story? very well then...but this story will keep you awake at night! do you know the forest at the west of the village?" the girls nodded joyfully their hearts full of excitement and anticipation, "do you know why we never cross the paths of that forest under the moonlight? because there is a story of a young princess who entered the forest and came across something that till this day held the story behind her absence that no one ever knows of...her name was princess lily a young and kind princess barely at a pubescent age, young and delightful she had a heart full of kindness but also curiousity, the love of her mother and father became her prison within the castle walls only accompanied by a window that provided her with the beautiful scenery of the forest, but one night her curiosity defeated her fears as she took a lantern and delved into the forest all alone at night, sneaking out of her royal prison like a thief, she walked under the moonlight only accompanied by the light of her lantern until...she heard a sound, a voice calling her, it was a creature...something dark like a shadow towering over her small body like a tree, the creature's horns were long like branches and no face, the facelessness of the creature frightened her but what truly grasped at her mind was the echo of the calm and soft voice the creature had, as the creature shifted and twisted slowly with every step it took a shale that almost felt...human, he was handsome and calm taking her hand and whispering in her ear as he knelt like a knight 'your majesty...let me be your servant, I want to give you the freedom you've been craving, the magic and stories you've been told I will make them reality' he whispered those hypnotizing words into her ear poisoning her mind with promises as the forest filled with lights that only served as an illusion luring her deeper and deeper into his arms" the mother was so invested in her own storytelling that she didn't notice how her daughters were already fast asleep, she covered them and placed a gentle kiss on each of their foreheads before leaving the room and locking the door behind her, walking to her husband who was sitting in his armchair near the fire, once he saw her he smiled and put away the book in his hands, sliding behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist "did the children sleep already my love? I owe you a lot...I couldn't make them sleep as fast as you do, now why don't we take you to bed as well now?" she melted into his arms as he carried her to bed like a princess, once she was covered he leaned in to gently stroke her hair as the moonlight shone on his face, he was quite handsome but...the color of his eyes was different, as if he was a shape shifters taking a form that didn't belong to him, he whispered "rest now...my dear Lily~"
