Chapter 1393: The Charm Of A Top Student (3)
After a slight hesitation, the old turtle said, "When a new reign begins, it is quite unlikely for past mistakes to be punished. Also...Su Yu might not be the successor of the Time Sage. You worry too much, Heavenly Overseer Marquis. Don't forget that he is also the mayor of multiple holy cities. You don't have my blessings to kill him."
"I am aware of that."
The pavilion master sighed, "I don't intend to do that. I'm merely troubled...so be it. It has been years since we last met. Let's not talk about such things. Cheers, Brother Grand Dream."
The old turtle raised his cup. Then, the two drained their tea.
The pavilion master did not stay for long. After finishing the tea, the golden page floated into the sky, split space apart, and vanished.
The old turtle shook his head with a smile. Just then, his gaze landed on the two cups with a tiny bit of unfinished tea. He casually tossed them outside the city. Instantly, countless great daos manifested in the eyes of the little oceanic beast outside. She was overjoyed.
Once again, she bowed and kowtowed to the city. Then, she drained the two cups. Instantly, her body finished more forgings. Only when she was at her eighteenth forging did she finish digesting the tea.
The two cups were merely the casual creation of a Pseudo Emperor. However, they were as solid as earth weapons. Furthermore, some dao remnants of two Pseudo Emperors were left in them. Thus, a single look at the two cups was enough to dazzle the little oceanic beast. In her mind, numerous cultivation methods manifested.
What was a fortuitous encounter? Often, it was merely the result of a coincidence.
The old turtle smiled and returned to the stone statue. He looked up at the sky and sighed. Was Heavenly Overseer Marquis suspecting that Su Yu might be in the Luminous Domain Mansion? Was the book Su Yu forged the reason for the marquis to suspect a relationship between Su Yu and the Time Sage?
What was the Heavenly Overseer Marquis thinking?
Would he be ignoring this or would he be interfering?
Would he be a friend or an enemy?
The Heavenly Hunt Index was damaged, resulting in the Heavenly Overseer Marquis' inability to further monitor the Myriad Realms. Was he planning to make the Heavenly Hunt Index his?
But the index was not his.
Numerous thoughts emerged in the old turtle's mind. After a while, he laughed again. Why was he thinking about all this? Who could be sure that this was really related to Su Yu?
Nobody could be sure.
Why would such a thought emerge in his mind? Why would the Heavenly Overseer Marquis think so as well? That was but a Cloudbreach. How did a mere Cloudbreach cause the two of them to actually consider him the new Emperor? The old turtle thought that they must have gone mad for entertaining such a thought.

While the two Daofuses were talking about Su Yu.
Su Yu had completely lost his interest in the treasures inside the mansion. Rather, he was fully engrossed in his discovery of the major secret. It wouldn't be wrong to say that uncovering secrets was what cultural researchers loved most. Every discovery could bring a cultural researcher boundless joy.
For many, this was merely a process of entering the mansion. While everyone else was still waiting, Su Yu had discovered many secrets of the mansion. At the same time, he was also busy figuring out if he could control the eight remaining subsidiary tunnels.
He wanted to know the identities of the people in these tunnels. If any of them were an enemy, he wouldn't mind getting rid of them now. As for those who weren't his enemies, he wanted to transfer all of them near him.
"Since the central acupoint controls the nine tunnels, I only need to figure out the identity of one of them to know who the rest are."
He still remembered the spots taken by those using the safe slots. If his guesses were right, all nine tunnels under his tunnel's control should be the tunnels from the same column. If he knew the identity of any of them, he would be able to determine who the rest were through his memories.
He called this the special power of a top student.
As a top student, having a good memory was a must. Most of the 3,260 token holders were already waiting in front of their respective entrances before Su Yu entered the special entrance. Thus, he could easily deduce who they were if he could find out about one of them.
He sank into thought. He wasn't in that much of a rush to know their exact identities. More importantly, he needed to know their strength. What if one of them were an Invincible? It would be awkward if he somehow arranged for an Invincible to arrive at the same place as him.
He tried numerous methods to exert control over the eight dots of light. Since he was in the central acupoint, there must be a way to control them. He noted that the eight dots of light shone at different levels of intensity.
After some hesitation, he picked a dot of light with medium intensity of shine and reached out with his zhongtan acupoint. The dot of light trembled. An indistinct cry sounded in his ears. Alarm and trepidation could be heard from the cry. The person inside must be panicking from the sudden change.
"Hmm?" Follow current novels on novèlfire.net
Su Yu blanked out slightly. That voice was...familiar.
"An immortal?"
He muttered doubtfully. That was probably an immortal. It sounded familiar. Right, Yun Sheng! Suddenly, Su Yu recalled that nobody. When he first entered the Sea of Stars, he encountered several immortals. One of them was an incomparably arrogant young master called Yun Sheng.
They originated from the Dao Region of Immortal King Tian Xuan, trained in the Heavenly Jade Monastery. This so-called Yun Sheng was a third-stage Cloudbreach back then. He might have grown by now. Perhaps he was already at the fourth or fifth stage. Su Yu wasn't too concerned about him.
"Yun Sheng...an immortal. In that case, the nine linked tunnels are all transferring immortals."
Realization dawned on him. The immortals had monopolized the northern entrances. These people were all immortals. Even if they weren't, they would be the members of races subordinate to the immortals.
"Yun Sheng...hmm..."
Su Yu noted that there were only two dots of light above Yun Sheng's dot of light. He remembered that there should be three immortals above Yun Sheng.
"Oh, the topmost immortal is a Sunmoon...wait, is he dead?"
Su Yu was slightly stunned. He seemed to recall that the Sunmoon was a subordinate of Dao King. Wow. What a coincidence. No way, right? Did he kill a subordinate of Dao King coincidentally?
"In that case, there's a Sunmoon, a Mountainsea, five Cloudbreaches, and a Skysoar left...The Sunmoon is probably at the third stage. There are probably two more subordinates of Dao King in there!"
This was understandable. The subordinates of Dao King would naturally try to stick together. The rest of them were the subordinates of Immortal King Tian Xuan.
"I see now..."
Su Yu rubbed his chin. Should he kill them? Wasn't this a tad bit too cruel? Must he kill them before they were even in the mansion? Wow. He was such a bad guy.
"Whatever. I'll transfer them near me. I can kill them all and collect their corpses. I love immortal corpses."
Hehehe.
Su Yu started thinking of a way to transfer all of them near him. Supposedly, they would all reach different locations in the mansion due to their difference in strength and age. But with the central acupoint under Su Yu's control, he was sure he could do it.
Sure enough, he soon discovered something new.
Ancient city medallion.
Yes. He was using the ancient city medallion. It was a random idea, and surprisingly, it worked. The eight dots of light started approaching him.
Meanwhile, the eight individuals inside the tunnels felt like their world was spinning. Or to be precise, the doors they were in were spinning rapidly.
Abruptly, Su Yu saw a flicker of light ahead of him. The transference was about to end.
Everyone else noticed the same. They were all overjoyed.
Su Yu felt his door going through a barrier of sorts as the door left the dark tunnel and plunged into a bright world.
Beside Su Yu, eight dazed individuals appeared. Almost immediately, they noticed each other. They were shocked, astonished, and horrified. Why...were they together?
Impossible!
There was even a Sunmoon among them. The old Sunmoon was not supposed to reach the same place as the Skysoar unless the Skysoar was also incredibly old.
However, all the immortal Skysoars sent into the mansion were young geniuses.
Why was this happening? The sole Sunmoon in the group was greatly alarmed. Also, who was the wolf beside him?
Just as the thought crossed his mind, the wolf said, "Hello. Welcome to my book."
Whoosh!
One beast after another emerged from the book and grabbed the third-stage Sunmoon. Before the Sunmoon could react, he was dragged into the book. A moon fell from the sky. The others were alarmed. What happened?
Then, the beasts from the book started grabbing them as well. When the beasts reached one of them, Su Yu blanked out and stopped the beasts. The rest were dragged into the book, leaving the sole survivor with him. A mask shattered, revealing the face of the sole survivor. On that face was an expression of sheer terror.
This was too terrifying.
"A human?"
Su Yu was surprised. Why was a human here? Weren't they all immortals?
"I...yes...human...Yellow Nine..."
The young woman was pale. Holy shit! What happened?
Where was she? Who was she? What did she encounter? A wolf had instantly killed a third-stage Sunmoon and six other immortals. Did...she survive?
"Yellow Nine?"
Su Yu had an odd expression. Holy shit.
Yellow Nine!
This must be Hollow's handiwork. Did that fellow teleport this into the tunnel at the last moment? How impressive. Surprisingly, Yellow Nine was really a human. In that case, was she really someone from the Liu Family?
Su Yu had an odd feeling when he recalled Hollow's previous words.
Was this real?
Su Yu sank into thought.
***
Outside, everyone was shocked.
Instantly, seven northern tunnels had collapsed. The tunnel stolen by Yellow Nine was the sole surviving tunnel.
Hollow's tunnel was still fine as well.
The immortals were stunned.
Dao King was having a meltdown.
"Ahhh! Ahhhhh!"
He roared madly. Screw him! Screw his ancestors!
Yet another one of his men had died.
Out of the thirteen people he sent, two had lost their slots while two had died right after entering the mansion. Only nine were left. Dao King was losing his mind. In short, only one of the additional slots he bought was left.
He roared furiously.
Nearby, Immortal King Tian Xuan was on the verge of losing his mind as well. Nearly all his people had died.
Ahhhhhh!
He wanted to roar as well, but he stopped when his gaze landed on Dao King. That guy was suffering even more than him. It was inevitable for one to feel better when seeing someone with a worse fate. So be it. At the very least, he still had his tri-life bodies. He was in a much better condition than Dao King. He could afford to try again after ten years.
With that in mind, he decided to let Dao King cry alone.
Chapter 1394: First Level, Human Face World (1)
Luminous Domain Mansion.
Su Yu looked at Yellow Nine with an indifferent and cold expression.
This was his first time seeing Yellow Nine's face. She even had a tiny bit of baby fat left on her face. Clearly, she was still quite young.
A member of the Liu Family.
That was Hollow's claim.
Su Yu had never investigated it. He had never asked Liu Wenyan about it either. Almost everyone in the Liu Family was dead. If this were the truth, it would be a joy. But if it was a lie, it would only give Liu Wenyan a temporary joy before shattering it, on top of reminding him further about the tragedy of his family.
Furthermore, Yellow Nine had grown up beside Hollow. Su Yu believed that one's environment when growing up would decide everything, not one's bloodline. If Yellow Nine and Hollow were evil beyond redemption, there was no need for her to return even if she was really a member of the Liu Family.
If she were to return, the Liu Family would treat her well due to guilt. She might cause the Liu Family to suffer even more losses.
Was the Liu Family powerful?
No.
It was only a family with two Sunmoons now.
Of course, they were still considerably well-connected. For example, they were connected to people like Great Xia King, Xia Longwu, Nan Wujiang, Yun Chen, Wan Tiansheng, and even Su Yu.
Some Invincibles also owed them a debt for what they did back then. That was the main reason why they had been left alone even after separating from humanity. Such a Liu Family might not look strong, but they could perhaps get the assistance of three or even five Invincibles if they really tried.
If someone with evil intentions were allowed to influence such a Liu Family disproportionately, things might grow disastrous. It wasn't that Liu Wenyan was stupid. But he would tolerate her excessively due to his guilt.
After all, he was the reason for the Liu Family's collapse.
Su Yu stared at Yellow Nine blankly.
How should he handle her?
Killing her...would be fine if he could hide it forever. But if it was exposed, he wouldn't be able to face Liu Wenyan anymore.
Su Yu started hesitating.
This was a scenario he had never expected. She must have guessed his identity as well.
***
Meanwhile, Yellow Nine was feeling greatly fearful.
She was horrified.
A book...killing immortals...an incomparably powerful strength, an overbearing and proud gaze, and sparing a human...Su Yu!
This was Su Yu!
Everyone thought that he was still in his ancient city. He was here! He had entered!
Not only had he entered, he but even had a unique control over the tunnels.
He was able to transfer multiple immortals near him instantly. This wasn't normal.; He had also killed a third-stage Sunmoon easily. Was that book the weapon he had forged recently?
What should she do?
With her years of experience in the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion, Yellow Nine started sweating nervously. She was no fool. She knew that Su Yu was thinking about killing her. Her status as a member of the Liu Family was the only thing holding him back. Her identity as a human would not matter. It wasn't like Su Yu had never killed any humans before.
Yellow Nine guessed everything instantly and hurriedly said, "S-Lord Profound Nine, I won't expose anything. I won't tell anyone. If you doubt me, you can even alter my memories or set up a seal in my sea of willpower."
After a short silence, Su Yu asked coldly, "Are you a member of the Liu Family?"
"I don't know." Yellow Nine answered, "I was never aware of this before. Subsequently, the Yellow Department head, the one known as Zhu Tianfang, spoke to my elder about this. He claimed that I came from a major human family. My elder picked me up about twenty years ago in the Allheaven Battlefield. Through my investigations, I found that the Liu Family was the only family to encounter great chaos twenty years ago.
"That was why my elder and Lord Zhu deduced that I came from the Liu Family. I am talented enough to have their bloodline in me. The timing was also right. Only families living in the Allheaven Battlefield long-term will give birth to babies in the Allheaven Battlefield."
For the most part, newborns would not appear in the Allheaven Battlefield. For the human race, only those residing there long-term would give birth there. It was very likely that she was the lost baby of the Liu Family.
Of course, it wouldn't be too difficult to verify that. They could always inspect her blood. With Liu Wenyan around, they could easily determine whether she was really a Liu.
After staring at her for a while, a furball appeared in Su Yu's hand. He said, "Open your sea of willpower."
Terror covered Yellow Nine's face.
A soul devourer! The race feared by everyone!
Meanwhile, the little furball was looking around while yawning lazily. When his gaze landed on Yellow Nine, a look of amusement flickered in his eyes, as though he was watching an entertaining show. He had no idea why this human was so scared. Perhaps Yummy was too scary. Yes. That must be it.
Su Yu asked again, "Open your sea of willpower. Don't make me repeat myself. Let the furball enter your sea of willpower. Furball, keep a close watch on her. The moment she tries anything funny, eat her sea of willpower."
The little furball was already quite powerful. He had advanced into the Mountainsea Realm not long ago. Subsequently, he had also consumed much of the crimson men sent by the heavenly laws to punish Su Yu.
Not even Su Yu knew the furball's actual cultivation level anymore. However, he was sure the little furball was still not a Sunmoon. But inside someone else's sea of willpower, the little furball would have no trouble consuming the sea of willpower with one bite since the sea of willpower would essentially be defenseless against him in that situation.
Yellow Nine had a look of despair. She was aware of how terrifying the soul devourers were. The moment she opened her sea of willpower, the soul devourer would reside in her sea of willpower. The sheer thought of that sent dread coursing through her entire being.
Left with no choice, she did as told.
However, the little furball resisted with the look of someone being forced to eat something disgusting, "Don't wanna!"
He didn't want to enter her sea of willpower. It did not smell good. Su Yu's sea of willpower smelled a lot better.
Su Yu's sea of willpower was very comfortable. The little furball spent all his time either sleeping or licking characters. He loved this life. In fact, it had been quite a while since he last left this lair. It smelled too good to leave.
What if Yummy decided to abandon him during his time elsewhere? No thanks. The little furball refused.
Su Yu repeated himself, "Go in. When she tries something funny, eat her and you can return. Maybe you won't even need to wait long for that."
The little furball blinked. Was that it? In that case, could he simply eat her and claim that she was trying something funny after doing so? She wouldn't be around to argue anymore, right?
Just then, Yellow Nine hurriedly said, "I won't do anything improper. But...can you not assign this fellow to me? Just look at his eyes. He's clearly trying to kill me before framing me for the merit."
"Ahh? How did you know that?"
The little furball was surprised. How did she know that?
Yellow Nine felt like crying. The little furball was being so obvious about it. How could she not know it? What a terrifying fellow. This was the crown prince of the soul devourer race. The descendant of two Pseudo Emperors.
Su Yu appeared unbothered. While playing with the furball in his hand, he said, "Don't eat her if she doesn't err too badly. No matter what, she might be family to my Teacher Liu. She might not care about her family, but I have to take note of this, right?"
"Fine."
The little furball flew sulkily into Yellow Nine's sea of willpower. Yellow Nine turned deathly pale. If Su Yu were to kill her, it would be over in an instant. But this was different. This was essentially the installation of a time bomb in her head. She could be constantly tormented by the stress.
The little furball appeared quite picky. After entering the sea of willpower, he started fussing around, kicking all her characters around before picking her strongest character and giving it a lick.
He looked adorable. But in Yellow Nine's eyes, he was a monster with a bloody mouth and sharp fangs. The chosen character was none other than her main character. Just look at that furball. He was sleeping on the character, giving it a lick every now and then. In Yellow Nine's eyes, the furball was clearly waiting to eat her.
With the little furball in Yellow Nine's sea of willpower, Su Yu had nothing to worry about anymore. Now, her life was in his hands.
He said, "You will be traveling with me and acting as my protector. As a seventh-stage Mountainsea near the eighth stage, are you comparable to a first-stage Sunmoon in combat?"
Yellow Nine no longer felt like resisting. She answered in a dispirited manner, "No. But it won't be easy for first-stage Sunmoons to kill me."
"Trash." Su Yu complained, "You're worse than Sunmoon yet you dared to pick a fight with me?"
"..."
Yellow Nine nearly had a meltdown then and there. She swore inwardly. Who was picking a fight with who here? When had she ever picked a fight with him? ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novęlfire.net
She had merely entered the mansion like normal. The first thing she saw after entering was this fellow murdering a bunch of immortals. She had nearly died. How did that translate into her picking a fight with him?
So what if she was worse than Sunmoon? She was only a Mountainsea!
Suddenly, she yelled in fear, "NOOO!"
When Su Yu coughed, the little furball emerged from Yellow Nine's head and asked doubtfully, "What? She was scolding you inwardly. That's a sign of treachery. You said it yourself. I should eat her for this. Why did you stop me?"
"..."
Yes. The little furball was on the verge of completing his mission and returning. He could feel Yellow Nine scolding Su Yu in her mind. Thus, he had opened his mouth to eat her and end his mission.
Alas, Su Yu had stopped him. Why was Yummy impeding his mission? Su Yu did not bother to say much. Instead, he took the time to study his surroundings. With the little furball who was eagerly waiting for Yellow Nine to try something funny, there was no need for him to worry about her.
Su Yu noted that he was located in a mountainous area.
Towering mountains surrounded him from all sides.
All around him, the ambient source qi was thick enough to form rolling fog around the mountains, giving the area an ethereal feel. Roars of beasts could be heard every now and then.
Chapter 1395: First Level, Human Face World (2)
Su Yu was located halfway up one of the mountains in the area. The terrain was rather flat. The doors that had carried them all here had vanished. Noticing that, Su Yu frowned. Did they go elsewhere?
Where were they?
He looked at the sullen Yellow Nine and said, "Do you know about the way to leave the mansion? Do we need to gather somewhere before leaving?"
With the same sullen tone, Yellow Nine said, "No. When it's time to leave, a tunnel will appear above you. The number of tunnels appearing will correspond to the number of survivors. You only need to step into the tunnel to leave."
Su Yu nodded. Yellow Nine was someone from the Yellow Department and First Yellow was an elder there. It was normal for them to know more than him.
"Is Hollow in here as well?"
"Yeah."
"Where's my Culture Tomb?"
Yellow Nine answered helplessly, "The elder is carrying it on him. You can exchange me for the Culture Tomb if we do encounter him."
Su Yu ignored her. What was the point of that? Was he dumb? Hollow should keep the fake tomb. Old Wan was pretty good at counterfeiting as well. Even now, Hollow was still unaware that he had a fake tomb.
Ignoring Yellow Nine, Su Yu soared into the sky. His eyes shone as he started scanning the area.
He was located on a massive mountain range.
The mountains here were much larger than what one could find in the Human Realm. He also had a sensation that even the space here was sturdier than the space within the Human Realm. Additionally, everything here felt ancient.
And...there might be native life forms in there. If that were the case, these would be the life forms that had survived since the ancient past.
The environment here was suitable for inhabitation and cultivation. But according to the records, when the mansion shut itself off from the outside world, all life within it would be extinguished.
However, Su Yu clearly remembered hearing the roars of wild animals in the area earlier. That did not make sense.
He sank into thought. After a while, he landed and asked, "Are there any records in the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion talking about the ancient life forms living here?"
Yellow Nine replied, "In the past, yes. However, there weren't a lot of them. The number of living beings in the mansion has been dropping steadily. Each time the mansion shuts down, all source qi in the mansion will recede. Not many can survive such an environment. Not even the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion is aware if these living beings are still around nowadays. A long time has passed since the last encounter with a native life form."
Su Yu nodded, "Which level is this?"
Yellow Nine looked around and answered, "The first level. You can tell from the quality of the ambient source qi. The quality will increase the higher the level is. The quality here is low despite the density. It is only suitable for the cultivation of Skysoars."
Su Yu nodded. That made sense. Yellow Nine was surprisingly knowledgeable. This was a convenient companion to have. Of course, he wouldn't put all his trust in her.
He wouldn't trust her blindly just because she was a member of the Liu Family. Only an idiot would do so. In fact, Su Yu wouldn't trust even those he was familiar with before their relationship reached a certain level.
"First level..."
Yellow Nine hurriedly offered, "There are a lot of treasures on the first level as well. If you're lucky, you can even find treasures as valuable as dragonblood fruit trees. After all, most of the treasures found in the vicinity of the mansion were actually the treasures that had leaked out of the first level."
"Treasures?"
Su Yu laughed. So what? He did not care about the so-called treasures.
Ignoring Yellow Nine, Su Yu opened the Mark of Civilization in his sea of willpower. After consuming eight immortals, the immortal page was a lot more detailed than before.
Each immortal the page consumed would contribute to the completion of this page. Su Yu could feel that the crimson projection of the immortal page had reached the level of a second-stage Sunmoon. When forging this page, he had only embedded a drop of first-stage Sunmoon immortal blood into it.
"This is the result after only eight immortals. What if I can consume more...or even the Immortal Realm itself..."
As that thought emerged in Su Yu's mind, he appeared perfectly calm. Not a tiny bit of killing intent leaked out of him. But for some reason, Yellow Nine's hair stood on end. What was that lunatic thinking this time?
Just as that thought crossed her mind, she wailed, "I did nothing! Can't I be curious? If I can't even ask questions, you might as well kill me and get it over with!"
She couldn't take it anymore.
She had done nothing except call Su Yu a lunatic in her mind. Even that was enough to provoke the little furball to end the mission early. Fortunately, she had shouted just as the furball was about to take a bite.
Once again, the little furball emerged from her head and looked at Su Yu with a wronged expression, "Can I eat or not? She called you a lunatic! I heard her! Why don't we eat her and finish the job?"
This was so annoying!
Su Yu was rendered speechless. He looked at the little furball and laughed, "Let her be. As long as she says nothing with her mouth or does nothing physically, don't eat her. Stop scaring her. It's a bad habit. No matter what, Yellow Nine used to be my colleague. We have to show her some leniency."
"Fine." The little furball replied sullenly, "I'll keep waiting for a chance to eat her."
Su Yu said, "Exactly. Also, if possible, you don't need to digest her. She was raised by Hollow. They might be close. Hollow was the one who had stolen Tiangu's coffin lid. I believe Tiangu's coffin lid is a treasure. Maybe we can try to trade her for the coffin lid."
"Coffin lid?"
The little furball's eyes widened in realization. Understood! That made a lot of sense!
Once again, he dove into Yellow Nine's head. Yellow Nine wailed with despair, "No matter what, I'm from the Liu Family!"
"That is unverified."
Su Yu replied, "Even if that's the case, well, I'm not. I only acknowledge my teacher, not you. For me, my teacher and the Liu Family are two different entities. You understand what I mean."
Yellow Nine replied helplessly, "I never intended to return. But you must promise to release me."
What was this? It wasn't like she wanted to return and get dragged into all that mess. How annoying.
Su Yu ignored her and started flying away. Yellow Nine hurriedly followed. She was afraid that the lazy little furball would take the chance to eat her right after Su Yu was gone and end the job early.
Just as that thought crossed her mind, she felt a tiny pain on one of her characters. When she took a look, she nearly coughed blood from anger. The little furball had taken a tiny bite out of her character.
Sensing Yellow Nine's gaze, the little furball said with a pitiful tone, "You scolded me! I only bit you because I was angry!"
Yellow Nine was losing her mind. With that fellow in her sea of willpower, any obvious thought of hers would be easily sensed by him. She was tired of this. Perhaps dying would feel better than this.
"Oh? You wanna die? Tell Yummy! Tell him and I'll fulfill your wish!"
Ahhhhhh!
This was driving her crazy.
This fellow looked adorable, but he was a fiend. He would not let go of any chance to eat her.
"You're so smart. Your sea of willpower is smelly. I can't even get a good sleep here. After eating you, I can go back and get a good sleep. When will you start thinking of your plan to murder Yummy? Go ahead! I support you!"
The little furball started jumping atop her character as he spoke in excitement, "Why don't you shout something evil? If you shout something bad, I can eat you without worrying that Yummy will scold me!"
Yellow Nine roared inwardly, "Dream on! That won't happen! You don't like it here? Well, enjoy staying here! You better persuade Su Yu to let me go or this will be your forever home! I'm from the Liu Family! He won't kill me for real unless I do something I shouldn't!"
Hearing that, the little furball grew dispirited again. But that only lasted for a short moment as he said expectantly, "It's fine. You're so weak. After leaving this place, he won't care about you anymore. That will be the time for me to leave!"
Too weak?
Screw him! Screw his entire family!
"You're scolding my dada!"
"..."
Yellow Nine hurriedly said in panic, "Not at all. That's a misunderstanding. I didn't mean it like that."
Nope.
Not messing with that.
That was a Pseudo Emperor.
***
Su Yu was flying ahead of them, barely sparing the two any attention.
As he flew, he focused on the source qi in the air, attempting to detect the origin. Noting that he was flying around randomly instead of looking for treasures, Yellow Nine said, "There are a lot of treasures on the first level. Even if you're not interested, you should be trying to ascend instead. Even more treasures can be found beyond the third level. The lowest three levels have been explored extensively over the years, but that's not the case for the higher levels."
Su Yu ignored her and continued following the trail of source qi he found. A short while later, he discovered an area where source qi converged. Without any hesitation, he started flying toward that area.
Yellow Nine merely followed in confusion. What was this guy doing? There was nothing good here. The place had been explored too many times before. With a new batch of explorers coming in every ten years, the natural treasures would not have the chance to accumulate.
Sure, it wasn't like the first level was completely devoid of treasure. No matter what, each level was akin to an independent world. There would be some treasures left in some forgotten corner.
In fact, these overlooked treasures were what those from the minor races were mainly aiming for. However, Su Yu was clearly not looking for these overlooked treasures.
Su Yu continued following the flow of source qi. Gradually, the mountain range below him reduced in size. This signified that he was about to leave the mountain range entirely.
Suddenly, his eyes flickered as he asked, "Where is the entrance to the second level?"
Yellow Nine looked around and said, "This mountain range is known as the Brow Mountain by the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion."
She pointed at the mountain range below them and said, "If you keep going ahead, you will encounter a large mountain range. That mountain range is also known as the Brow Mountain. The two mountain ranges are quite unique as they are shaped like eyebrows. In truth, the entire first level resembles the face of a human. Thus, the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion calls this place the Human Face World internally. You can find the entrance at the end of this level..."
Chapter 1396: First Level, Human Face World (3)
Human Face World.
First level. Source Opening.
Nine Source Opening acupoints. Eyes, ears, nose, mouth, Spirit Palace, One Hundred Openings...
When all nine were opened, the source would open and great strength would follow.
Open.
Opening the One Hundred Openings, gaining great strength.
Su Yu thought about it. He was atop an eyebrow. That was the location of the One Hundred Openings. He looked in a certain direction and pointed, "Is the entrance somewhere over there?"
Yellow Nine glanced at him doubtfully and replied, "I'm unsure. It's hard for me to judge after seeing only one of the mountain ranges. I only learned about this through a map in the past. At times, the terrain might change due to the passage of time. I can't say for sure."
Su Yu started muttering again, "Human Face World...Answer me. Since the Heaven Hunt Pavilion calls this place the Human Face World, have they never discovered anything special about this place? Were they never suspicious?"
"What do you mean?"
Yellow Nine said, "Are you saying..."
"Human face. Mouth, eyes, ears, and nose should be present, right? In that case, have these locations been explored before? Were there any treasures there?"
"Of course." Yellow Nine said, "These locations had been explored numerous times before. However, anything truly valuable would have been taken by those before us. As I mentioned, the first level has been explored extensively. The past explorers wouldn't have left anything valuable behind."
Su Yu nodded. That was understandable. The more obvious treasures would have been harvested clean long ago.
Eyebrows...the eyebrows wouldn't be too far away from the eyes. The eye acupoints would be there.
Su Yu said nothing and flew to the side of the mountain range before turning to a different direction. If he was right, the eye should be somewhere there. It was obvious the builder of the mansion had built it according to a set of rules.
While flying, he asked, "This mansion has been around since the ancient past. Who was the builder? Why was this level built according to a human race? Are there any records about this in the pavilion?"
"The builder?" Yellow Nine shook his head, "I don't know. In the records, only a line or two will be dedicated to most events or topics. This is also the case for the Luminous Domain Mansion."
Su Yu nodded. Abruptly, he turned his head in a certain direction. With an indifferent expression, a page from his book shot out. After a few moments, it returned with some new words written on it.
Yellow Nine was alarmed. Before she could notice anything, the page had returned. Just like that, an expert who was spying on them had died.
"Y-you...what manner of a treasure...is this book?"
Su Yu replied nonchalantly, "It's a normal earth weapon. What's the big deal? That was only a Skysoar."
Fine, fine.
Yellow Nine stopped asking. Inwardly, her heart was palpitating with fear. When she first saw the book, it felt gentle and refined. But instead, it was a weapon of mass murder. She was terrified. This was a demonic weapon!
"What's your current name?"
She asked, looking at the wolf form Su Yu was taking. She found his new face...ugly.
"Langtu."
Su Yu could sense that battles were starting to erupt all over the first level. Of the 3,600 people who had entered the mansion, about a third of them would enter the first level. In short, there were over one thousand people here.
Of course, the place was big enough that they wouldn't encounter the others so easily. Even with Su Yu's strength, it had taken him quite a while to fly across the Brow Mountain.
Seeing that Su Yu was ignoring her again, Yellow Nine took the initiative to speak, "This place is not completely safe. There are some natural treasures here. If you're careless, you might die without knowing what's happening."
She continued her explanation, "According to the records of the pavilion, some geniuses had drowned in the Ear Sea for seemingly no reason. You need to understand that these were young geniuses. None of them was weaker than the Skysoar Realm. It should have been impossible for people like them to drown."
Su Yu replied indifferently, "That's normal. Ear Sea, Blood Plain, Heavenly Pit, Double Dragon Gorge...all of them are filled with danger."
"You read the records before as well?"
Nope.
Su Yu thought that this was common sense. Those were the locations of the nine acupoints. It would be natural for these locations to be dangerous. Of the nine Source Opening acupoints, the Spirit Palace was located at one's naval.
Since the Human Face World was based on a human face, was there no Spirit Palace here? In that case, wouldn't this place be incomplete? After all, this was also supposed to be the Source Opening level.
"Thus, there must be another danger zone on this level. That should be the location of the Spirit Palace..."
Su Yu decided to forget about all the information he had collected about this level. What he wanted to find was different from what everyone else wanted to find. He couldn't rely on that information.
The Blood Plain was the location of the eyes. It was a crimson plain. According to Su Yu's interpretation, that was a display of bloodshot eyes.
"Perhaps I can discover something there."
Su Yu continued flying, followed by Yellow Nine, who was both curious and doubtful.
Suddenly, Su Yu asked, "Where can the riversand be found?"
"Not here. It is the sand of the Celestial River. And the Celestial River is located on the third level."
Third level?
Su Yu thought about it. The third level represented the Infinite Strength Realm. At the Infinite Strength Realm, one would start fusing one's acupoints.
Fusing all acupoints into nine.
The nine would serve as the foundation for further cultivation.
"Riversand...willpower purification...Is that perhaps the location of a soul aperture? Or perhaps the river is formed of the tears shed by the eyes? Is that the location of the fused eye acupoints?"
Su Yu was unsure. He would probably understand after seeing the river with his own eyes. That would be Wu Lan's destination in the mansion. The riversand could be considered one of the most valuable treasures one could find in the bottom three levels.
Just then, he saw the crimson plain in the distance.
The so-called Blood Plain was separated into several zones. Numerous crimson rivers flowed through the Blood Plain. When Su Yu saw them, realization dawned on him. Those were the blood vessels in the eyes.
That was how this place came to be known as the Blood Plain. The crimson rivers were surrounded by shores of white sand. That represented the sclera of the eye. At the center, a black marsh could be seen. That was the pupil.
In that case, where would the acupoint be? The Blood Plain was too big in size. It would be impossible for him to search the entire place.
"If there is an eye acupoint here, it would be somewhere in the center."
Seeing that Su Yu was heading toward the center of the Blood Plain, Yellow Nine said, "Be careful. This place is very dangerous. Even with our strength, safety is not guaranteed."
Why was this guy running around? He had no idea how dangerous this place was. It didn't matter if he got himself killed. But he shouldn't drag her down.
"Danger?" Su Yu laughed, "You should follow your advice. About three hundred meters to your left, something dangerous might be lurking. Stay away from it."
Yellow Nine looked left before looking at Su Yu with an odd expression. Was he an Invincible? Was he looking at her past and future? How would he know about the danger otherwise?
When she looked over, she saw nothing except a crimson river. But crimson rivers could be found all over the Blood Plain. How were they dangerous?
She doubted him.
Su Yu laughed. Abruptly, he reached out to grab her. Alarmed, Yellow Nine drew her sword. Just as she did that, the little furball opened his mouth in excitement. But before he could take his bite, Yellow Nine was caught by Su Yu. With a casual swing of Su Yu's hand, Yellow Nine was tossed toward the river.
Immediately, countless blood arrows took form and shot out of the river. Each arrow had the power of a Mountainsea.
Having regained her freedom, the horrified Yellow Nine hurriedly swung her sword. After numerous swings, she finally cut all the arrows down. Only then did she have the chance to fly into the sky again.
At this point, she had completely forgotten about what Su Yu did to her. She hurriedly asked, "How did you know that?" Follow current novels on novel✦fire.net
Su Yu rubbed his eyes. What a stupid question. That was the exact spot on an eyebal that would be prone to itchiness. As a response to the discomfort, the eyeball would generate some tears. The tears of an eye this big would be enough to kill her, right?
Su Yu sighed and said, "You are a complete illiterate. Sure enough, there is an issue with the current education system of the Myriad Realms. Everyone is overly focused on fighting and killing. Hollow must have taught you nothing but killing."
That was somewhat unfair since the eyes of each race would be different. Some races would have more than a pair of eyes. In that case...why did the human race not notice the peculiarities of this place?
Su Yu frowned. The human race had been exploring this place for about four hundred years. How did nobody notice anything?
"No, someone must have discovered something. They might have reached the same conclusion about the nine apertures as well. In that case..."
Su Yu's eyes flickered. Some humans must have explored the locations of these acupoints before. The terrain here should look very familiar to a human. This was clearly an eye.
"In that case, there might be some humans at my destination. Hopefully, a conflict won't arise."
Su Yu smiled. If a conflict were to arise...he would decide what to do depending on the situation. The humans there had better be easy to talk to. Otherwise...well, it wasn't like he had never killed any humans before.
Su Yu continued flying while avoiding all the potential dangers of the area.
Eventually, the look in Yellow Nine's eyes changed.
The Blood Plain was a relatively dangerous place. For some reason, Su Yu seemed incredibly familiar with this place. He was able to easily avoid the various dangers here. Often, they would pass through a place safely, just for something dangerous to erupt right after their passing.
Su Yu appeared completely indifferent to all that. He continued flying without looking back. According to his interpretation, they were akin to some sand that had gotten into someone's eye. Thus, it was normal for that someone to try to get rid of them.
He only needed to avoid all the potential dangers and avoid causing too much discomfort to the eye. The first level was not necessarily forged out of someone's body. However, it was most definitely built in accordance with a living human.
Every one of the so-called dangers there was merely the natural reaction of a human body upon discomfort. Thus, a human should be able to easily avoid many of these dangers.
"The builder of this place is most certainly a human!"
At this point, Su Yu was already certain. Only a human would know the human body so well.
Chapter 1397: Fighting Eyeball (1)
Center of Blood Plain.
The dark marsh was not devoid of people. In fact, there were quite a lot of people there.
A lot of people had entered the first level.
Over the years of exploration, everyone had discovered something special about the mansion. Most of the people entering the mansion would already know a little about the place. For example, most people were aware of the locations where the likelihood of obtaining some benefits was higher.
In the center of the marsh was a glossy piece of land. Not a single plant grew there. At the very center of the glossy area was a bubbling spring. A large amount of source qi was leaking out of it.
Every now and then, some treasures would spurt out of the spring. To be precise, these were natural treasures. This place was quite well-known. Thus, quite a lot of people were surrounding the glossy piece of land. However, nobody dared to enter and harvest the spring.
"Are you waiting for the treasures to be delivered to you?" A man with a sharp nose said, "Since you're already here, why can't you show some courage and take some risk? This is the Spring of Saints. The Spring of Saints can revive the dead, regrow flesh on bones, and strengthen one's body."
"In that case, why aren't you going, Xiao Li?"
Standing further away was a white tiger in his original form. He shot the sharp-nosed man a glare, daring the man to enter.
Everyone knew that this was a dangerous place. Things might look peaceful here, but this was an incomparably dangerous zone. Upon stepping onto the glossy land, all flight would be prohibited. At the same time, the ground was hot enough to instantly reduce a Skysoar into ashes.
Mountainseas could travel some distance on this piece of land, but most people on the first level were weaklings. Very few of them were the truly strong ones. Both age and talent would be judged when entering the Luminous Domain Mansion.
Most of the younger individuals would be sent to the first level. But due to their age, most of them wouldn't be too strong either. Very few among the young could actually reach the Mountainsea or Sunmoon Realms. In fact, Mountainseas and Sunmoons were very rare on the first level.
Of course, not everyone was standing around doing nothing. Further away, a human held a leaf in hand. When the leaf landed on the ground, it instantly ignited. However, the leaf remained undamaged.
That caught numerous gazes. That piece of leaf was probably comparable to an earth weapon in durability.
The human race might have declined, but the top human experts had been making war everywhere. Coupled with some of their past ruins, they had still accumulated some decent treasures. They only seemed poor because they didn't have too many of these treasures. Clearly, humanity had also prepared a lot for this exploration.
The surrounding humans were overjoyed to see the leaf surviving the burning ground. It worked! The humans were not too familiar with the levels beyond the third, but they were still quite familiar with the bottom three levels.
One of them sent a voice transmission, "The prefect was right. The fire here is pupil fire. It can burn everything, but the brightmoon chrysanthemum is capable of suppressing it. Liu Ji, go harvest the Spring of Saints. We will keep an eye on the others."
This was a group of humans from Great Han. Prior to entering, they had agreed to gather up here.
The humans had made their preparations before entering. The different groups had split the different parts of the mansion among themselves. This was the group that had been assigned this place.
The water of the Spring of Saints was beneficial in body forging, healing, and intelligence boosting. It was a lot more valuable than something like heavenly source fruit. Many would benefit if they could return to the Human Realm with some.
As they discussed, numerous people started eyeing them. Also among the crowd were divines and devils. Their eyes turned frosty. They would not allow the humans to succeed so easily.
Of course, they wouldn't stop these humans from harvesting the spring. The more important part was leaving with what they harvested. If they couldn't, all their hard work would benefit someone else.
Liu Ji looked worried as he hesitated. There were only five of them. Meanwhile, they were surrounded by dozens of people. It was clear these people would attack after they were done with the harvest.
As the stalemate persisted, two figures arrived from afar. Su Yu was still maintaining Langtu's form. He swept his gaze through the area before stopping at the glossy land. He nodded. This was the very center of the eyeball. Read complete versıon only at novel⦿fire.net
Very good.
His guess was right.
As for the spring water gushing out of the ground, that was no tear. Rather, that was known as the pupilwater. Through Su Yu's senses, he could see that the water of the spring was a sort of treasure. But for him, the celestial devil fruit was better.
As for the people gathered there...he was completely unconcerned about them. This was merely a group of Skysoars with a small number of Cloudbreaches mixed among them. Could they even be considered experts?
As far as Su Yu was concerned, they were the same as a pile of trash. He felt like the sole non-trash surrounded by trash.
He walked straight to the glossy land. Numerous eyes landed on him and Yellow Nine. Without her mask, everyone could see that Yellow Nine was a young human lady. The group of humans was surprised to see her. To be precise, they were surprised to see an unfamiliar human face.
A human and a demonic wolf. What manner of a group was this? They were naturally incapable of seeing through the strength of the two.
Just as someone was about to speak, Su Yu impatiently activated his blood character, sinking everyone into an illusion. A refined and saintly aura rippled out as a book unfurled itself. In a flash, everyone was dragged into the book.
As for the five humans, Su Yu merely knocked them out with a hammer strike. He had nothing to say to these people. It would be a waste of time.
Then, he stepped onto the glossy land. Instantly, black flame surged up and burned his body. He ignored the fire and looked at Yellow Nine, "Come here. Draw the fire and burn your eye. These fools don't even know the purpose of the pupilfire. They have only been trying to repel the fire. But the harder they try to repel the pupilfire, the stronger it gets. How stupid."
Yellow Nine asked in astonishment, "Are you telling me to burn my eyes with this fire?"
Was he crazy?
The eyes were the weakest part of a human body. No matter how strong someone was, their eyes would still be weak. And this guy was telling her to burn her eyes with the fire capable of killing Cloudbreaches or even Mountainseas? Was the guy trying to blind her?
Su Yu couldn't be bothered to explain more. Instead, he drew the fire and sent it into his eyes. First, a sharp pain assaulted him. But next, the fire turned gentle. Ignoring the fire, Su Yu stepped into the gushing spring and allowed it to wash over his eye.
His eye started shining. Behind him, Yellow Nine was completely dumbstruck. Was this really possible?
After a slight hesitation, she stepped forth. Instantly, the fire burned her. Even as a Mountainsea, she found the pain unbearable. She hurriedly followed Su Yu's lead and drew the fire into her eyes.
"Ahhhhhhh!"
She instantly wailed in pain. Just as she was about to swear, she recalled something and rushed into the spring. Finally, she felt much better.
As the fire burned, she continued washing her eyes. When she looked at the world again, she blanked out. Her eyesight had improved significantly.
She could see further than before. Her eyes also felt stronger. She stared at Su Yu blankly and asked, "The fire and spring here...are they meant to temper one's eyes?"
While washing his eyes, Su Yu smiled, "What do you think? This mansion was never intended to be a killing machine when it was built. Back then, this place was guarded by countless super experts. What's the point of some traps capable of killing only Skysoars and Cloudbreaches? Do you think those experts would waste their time creating traps for these weaklings?"
Were the traps really traps?
Were the danger zones really meant to kill?
Nonsense.
The expert capable of building something like this wouldn't have needed these traps. Rather, all these so-called traps and dangers were meant to train. Not kill.
"Ahhhhhhh!"
Suddenly, Yellow Nine wailed again, "My eyes! My eyes!"
Blood was flowing out of her right eye.
Su Yu said, "This is the left eye spring, not the right eye spring. You only need to follow my actions. Why did you act all smart and deviate? You're nearly blind. It's fine. Just endure the pain. There's a different Blood Plain nearby. You will be fine when we go there later."
Yellow Nine roared furiously, "You didn't make it clear!"
Su Yu asked, "Are you blind? Can't you see for yourself? Also, I'm not obliged to tell you anything. I only reminded you about this out of respect for Teacher Liu. Don't forget yourself, Yellow Nine. You're my prisoner."
Yellow Nine was furious. However, she decided to swallow her anger since she was no match for Su Yu. She was no pushover either. She gritted her teeth and resisted the pain. Despite the pain, she remained silent and drew the fire into her left eye before washing it with the spring water.
The more she washed her eye, the more she understood how beneficial the fire and spring water were.
She said, "Su-Langtu, are you saying that this is supposed to be a human eye? Did the builder build this for the purpose of training those from the younger generations? Are all the danger zones on the first level filled with benefits? For example, your ears might benefit from visiting the Ear Sea. Is that the case?"
Chapter 1398: Fighting Eyeball (2)
Su Yu laughed, "You can draw your own conclusions. I've never been there before. How am I supposed to know?'
Why was he being so smug? Yellow Nine grumbled inwardly. She decided to forgive Su Yu and focus on harvesting the benefits. This guy was feeling more and more mysterious nowadays. Why did it feel like he knew everything?
She couldn't help but think that following this guy around wasn't a bad choice at all. Her left eye was shining. She could feel that her left eye acupoint was also growing stronger. It was even starting to transform into a sort of crystal.
With her injured right eye shut, she looked at the world with her left eye. The moment she did that, she exclaimed in astonishment, "How odd. Why is the source qi dropping onto the ground?"
This wasn't something she could see previously. Or to be precise, this wasn't something her senses could pick up previously. But now, she could clearly feel the ambient source qi dropping downward. This did not make sense.
Ambient source qi should remain floating in the air.
Su Yu was absorbing their surroundings with his shining left eye. First, he looked up. Then, he looked down. Finally, he looked at the spring and said, "Something under the spring is absorbing the ambient source qi. It is probably a treasure."
"Under the spring?" Yellow Nine hurriedly said, "I read about this in the records before. Nobody can dive into the spring. Some people tried it before, but upon diving into it, the healing water would transform corroding water."
"Yes." Su Yu nodded, "Thus, we can't dive down."
"Why did you talk about the treasure, then?"
Su Yu ignored the question of the illiterate fool. Yellow Nine might be stronger than Wu Lan in combat, but her brain wasn't too flexible. She lacked ingenuity, and she was unqualified to be a proper cultural researcher. She also lacked the spirit of discovery that a proper cultural researcher should possess.
Su Yu smiled, "What do you think is the purpose of strengthening your eye here? Any part of the body can't dive into the spring, but the left eye is probably an exception. Come on. Dig your eyeball out and toss it inside. I guarantee you will be fine."
"I—"
Bullshit!
There was no way she was going to do that. That would hurt a lot more. And what if she were to lose her eyeball to corrosion? Would she be forced to live as a one-eyed girl?
"Sigh. You have learned nothing but combat growing up with Hollow. You're essentially a warrior. Truth be told, those of the Liu Family are more suited for the willpower path, even if my Teacher Liu only cares about the martial application of willpower cultivation instead of the exploration of the unknown..."
Very few cultural researchers cared about research anymore. Only the weaker cultural researchers would focus on research. The stronger ones would all focus on combat.
"Each eyeball is connected to your body through the blood vessels. You only need to sever the blood vessels temporarily. You will be fine. Since you're refusing this great gift, I'll enjoy it myself."
Then, he dug his own eyeball out. Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn NoveI[F]ire.net
Yellow Nine inhaled in shock. This was indeed a crazy guy. Even if he could recover from such an injury, it would not discount the pain in any way.
Su Yu nonchalantly tossed the eyeball into the spring. Sure enough, it did not rot away. Through the eyeball, he was able to see the sight beneath the spring.
The world beneath was essentially a tiny tunnel of water surrounded by a sea of flame. The fire surrounding the tunnel would constantly burn the eyeball, which would also be constantly tempered by the spring water.
The deeper the eyeball went, the more intense the fire was. If one were to enter with one's body, even a Sunmoon would be reduced to ashes.
Su Yu couldn't help but gasp in admiration at the prowess of the one who had built the Luminous Domain Mansion.
Truly an incredible person.
This was merely one of the many zones on the first level yet it was capable of killing Sunmoons. One ought to know that building something of this scale would require an unimaginable amount of work. This spring alone could be classified as a middle or even high-tier earth weapon if it were to follow the classification of weapons.
Or perhaps the spring was even more powerful than that.
"How impressive. Absolutely impressive."
Su Yu kept gasping with amazement. Furthermore, this place had been built according to a human body. This place should have been the training grounds of humanity. The place of opportunities for humanity.
This was the legacy of the ancient Human Emperor, a place left behind to help humanity rise again. Unfortunately, the myriad races had been the ones benefiting more from this place compared to humanity.
"This is the wisdom of our ancestors."
When leaving a legacy to their descendants, these ancestors would not make it a direct gift. Rather, the legacy was something requiring hard work to acquire.
As far as Su Yu was concerned, this was not a good thing. These treasures should only fall into the hands of those with enough intelligence to utilize them. It would be a waste for these treasures to end up in the hands of fools.
Beside him, Yellow Nine watched in silence. She had discovered that not only was Su Yu ruthless toward others, but he was also ruthless toward himself. She couldn't help but admit that the way he acted felt refreshingly carefree.
Looking at the unconscious humans nearby, she asked, "What do you intend to do with them?"
Su Yu did not even spare them a glance as he said, "According to the illusion, they would fight an intense battle with some enemies. Eventually, they would retreat from this place in defeat. Unless they are Sunmoons, they won't be able to overcome my illusion."
"Are you not killing them? It's still dangerous to leave them around. An Invincible might be able to see through the truth through them."
"Do you think they can reach the seventh level and beyond? They have to go that high to encounter Invincibles."
Su Yu was unconcerned.
"Su Yu, you might claim that you're no longer part of humanity, deep inside, you're still a human..."
Su Yu sneered, "What nonsense is that? I am a human. I was born there. I grew up there. I hate those who have schemed against me. But that did not mean I hate those who had not wronged me. Yellow Nine, you might be a human, but you grew up in the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion. You were raised by Hollow. You can't be considered a human. You only have the skin of a human."
Yellow Nine offered no retort. That was not wrong. She had never received the education of a human. She had never been close to any human. She only knew Hollow. She only knew the concept of weak and strong. She only knew the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion. And the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion had always preached about all races being the same. Why should she consider herself a human?
Su Yu was different. He was merely disappointed with humanity. That was why he had separated himself from them. But he had never stopped being a human.
Abruptly, he said, "Shut up. Stop distracting me."
Under the spring, his eyeball had noticed something different.
He saw a clump of golden flame that was completely unlike the other fire, which was black in color. The golden flame was swaying about in the shape of an eyeball, moving as though it were alive.
Noticing Su Yu's eyeball, it approached curiously. The moment it approached, Su Yu felt a sharp pain. The golden flame was burning his eyeball. Above, golden flame burst out of Su Yu's empty eyesocket as he groaned in pain.
"Interesting."
With a laugh, he manifested his fire character. The fourth-tier character started absorbing the golden flame leaking out of his eyesocket. As it did that, it started growing. As a fourth-tier character, it was a Mountainsea character.
All of Su Yu's characters had reached the same level. Of his twenty-eight characters, his blood character was the closest to the fifth tier. Under the spring, his eyeball collided against the golden flame repeatedly.
The flame continued burning his eyeball while the spring water continued washing his eyeball.
Eventually, the golden flame started dimming. Meanwhile, Su Yu's fire character shone brighter and brighter. By the time the golden flame started retreating, the fire character was already showing signs of breakthrough. It was now at the same level as the blood character, a step away from the fifth tier.
Finally, Su Yu's eyeball shot out of the spring and returned to his eyesocket.
When Su Yu looked at Yellow Nine again, flame danced amid his left eye as Yellow Nine exclaimed in pain. She asked, "What's that?"
"Killing Gaze."
Su Yu smiled, "Interesting. My left eye is now comparable to an earth weapon. The treasure down there is a clump of golden flame. It represents the left eye acupoint. It isn't a treasure to take away. Instead, it is here to accumulate a certain amount of special power that can be used to temper one's eye."
That was the biggest treasure one could find here. It wasn't a treasure one could take away. It also wasn't a treasure that could be consumed. It was merely meant for tempering.
Su Yu had a feeling that he could now kill by merely glaring at someone. He was now certain about one thing. The first level was a level meant to temper the nine Source Opening acupoints.
He could clearly feel that his left eye acupoint was much more powerful than his other acupoints. It was as though it had gone through a sort of transformation. He had learned the technique called Killing Gaze. He could try using it when encountering an enemy in the future. Just by glaring at someone, he could burn that someone to death.
With the energy of the golden flame depleted, water stopped gushing out of the spring. Eventually, it went still. It would likely remain so until enough source qi had been absorbed for it to start gushing again.
Yellow Nine had also benefited from the spring. Her left eye had grown much stronger than before. Naturally, her right eye was still injured. For now, she would have to settle for being a one-eyed girl.
As Su Yu shot the unconscious humans a glance, his blood character swept over. Then, he casually sent them flying before flickering away with Yellow Nine.
Moments later, the humans woke up. They stared around blankly, only remembering that they had fought an intense battle for the spring. After a bitter battle, they were able to flee safely.
One of them exhaled in relief and said, "That was close. Damn it! Those fellows were joining hands against us. Looks like we have no choice but to give up on the spring."
The others had a look of lingering fear. The battle earlier had been too dangerous. Even now, their heads were aching. Their bodies were also laden with wounds. They did not suspect anything. They only knew that they had been surrounded by enemies before escaping.
Liu Ji cursed, "Those bastards! I will kill them sooner or later!"
Despite their fury, they did not hesitate to leave the area. What could they do but run when their enemies had more people? They would return for revenge after gathering enough people. In any case, the spring would always be there.
Chapter 1399: Fighting Eyeball (3)
At the same time.
Numerous Invincibles were frowning.
More deaths.
It hadn't even been long since the mansion opened yet a large number of people had died.
Someone asked, "Did something unexpected happen in the first level? The newest wave of deaths only involved Skysoars. They were probably on the first level. And they were probably together. All of them had been killed at once. Is this related to what happened to the immortals earlier?"
"The deaths of those immortals were very suspicious as well. All of them had died at the same time. Something feels wrong. Did something go wrong with the transference? Or was it something else?"
"It hasn't even been long yet nearly a hundred people have died."
That was too quick.
It was too abnormal. Generally, the deaths in the mansion wouldn't happen so soon after opening. The people inside would only encounter people of similar strength. Unless a massive battle involving hundreds of people were to happen, it was rare for so many people to die at once.
"Did all those people somehow enter a danger zone together?"
"That's possible."
"Did something change in the first level?"
As the Invincibles discussed among themselves, some started looking at the human encampment while frowning. Very few of the deaths involved humans. Up until now, only three of the human tunnels had snapped.
That signified that they had only lost three people so far. As a major race, they had a lot of people in the mansion as well. However, they had lost only three. Meanwhile, the immortals had lost twenty. The losses of the divines and devils were lower, but the number was still quite significant.
In the human encampment, both Great Zhou King and Great Xia King looked confused as well.
Wow. The human race was quite lucky this time. Generally, the human race would lose more than the divines and devils. This time, it was the other way around.
Great Xia King asked, "Did something unforeseen happen in the first level? Is this related to that Yellow Nine? All those immortals are dead. In the entire row, Yellow Nine is the sole survivor. Did she enter the first level? Is she a human?"
"I think so."
Great Zhou King said, "Not only is she a human, she might even be related to Liu Family. But I'm still unsure about that."
Great Xia King frowned, "Are you referring to what Zhu Tianfang said?"
"Yeah." Great Zhou King asked, "What do you think?"
"Me?" Great Xia King frowned and said, "If Liu Jiazhen is really back, and if she's really willing to marry into the Xia Family, I won't mind it. But she grew up with Hollow. I'm worried about her loyalty. If she only wants compensation, the Xia Family is willing to compensate."
Great Zhou King smiled and said nothing else. That would be a matter for the Liu Family to settle. Of course, without knowing her identity for sure, nobody would notify the Liu Family. It would be awkward if they informed Liu Wenyan only for her to end up unrelated to him.
Great Zhou King and Great Xia King were in a decent mood. The human race had only suffered a small loss. This was a good thing. Meanwhile, the divine, devil, and immortal races had lost a lot more even though they had also sent a lot more people inside. They could only blame their luck for that.
Suddenly, yet another series of tunnels collapsed. The expressions of the Invincibles turned unsightly. The same thing was happening again. This was no battle. This was a slaughter.
An Invincible asked coldly, "Is something wrong with the first level? Did an expert enter?"
That was the only explanation.
"A human expert?"
"Yellow Nine?" "Is Yellow Nine a human? That's possible. Is it her? But a third-stage Sunmoon has died as well. Is she strong enough to kill even a third-stage Sunmoon?"
"This is getting troublesome. A lot of geniuses are on the first level."
Some of them were starting to worry. Yes, the first level was massive. But someone capable of killing Sunmoons would still pose a big threat to the others.
In the Luminous Domain Mansion, one could ascend the levels but not the other way around. Most of the people who had entered the first level were the young geniuses of the various races.
Even people like Mo Duona would only be focused on reaching the second level instead of staying around and slaughtering everyone. This was not something a real genius would waste time doing.
But if the genius in question was a human...things would change. Since the myriad races were targeting the humans, they would naturally fight back.
"Are Mo Duona and the others on the first level?"
"It might really be a human expert..."
Everyone started focusing on the human tunnels. Their tunnels remained the same. Clearly, the humans had been excluded from the recent slaughter. Numerous faces turned unsightly.
Damn it!
Just what was happening here?
Unfortunately, not even the Heavenly Hunt Pavilion could send any messages in and out of the Luminous Domain Mansion. They could only watch and worry without doing anything. Sure, only the weaker cultivators had died so far. However, anyone picked to enter the mansion would be someone with the potential to grow into an expert in the future.
Someone looked at the Heavenly Hunt Index and grimaced. About seventeen or eighteen names had left the index. This was a big loss. Any index genius had the potential to reach the Sunmoon Realm if not the Invincible Realm.
And now, they had died before reaching their potential. The rankings on the index had not changed much. As the index's influence could not penetrate the mansion, the battles between the index geniuses in the mansion would not alter the rankings.
The sole exception was the deaths of these index geniuses while they were in the mansion. That would be reflected on the index as the captured auras of these people would fade automatically upon their deaths.
"Who? Who did this?"
The Invincibles were furious. As for Dao King, he was so furious that he had stopped making any sound. He had lost yet another person.
Very good.
So far, he had lost five people. That left him with eight.
He only needed to pretend he hadn't bought the additional slots from Su Yu to feel better. However, so many had died in less than three hours. Was there any hope for his remaining people to get him any carrier treasure from the mansion?
Was this a joke?
"Su Yu!"
Dao King snorted coldly. That confused the surrounding Invincibles. Why was Dao King calling that name suddenly?
Far away, Liu Hong laughed and said, "Wow. So many died. What a pity. Dao King, stop calling my name. It wasn't me. It's pointless to call out at me."
Dao King snorted and glanced at Liu Hong with a frown. His intuition was telling him that his bad luck was definitely related to that bastard. Sure, that bastard was clearly still out here. But something felt wrong.
The unexpected deaths might really be related to that bastard. Even he himself found his suspicion ridiculous, but he just couldn't shake it off.
This felt terrible. He decided to trust his instinct. In any case, that bastard was the reason he lost his tri-life bodies. That was why he had been forced to buy additional slots. If he hadn't bought those slots, he wouldn't have suffered such disastrous losses.
Everything was Su Yu's fault!

Inside the Luminous Domain Mansion.
Su Yu's book looked even more saintly than before.
Looking at the saintly radiance the book was emitting, Yellow Nine grimaced as he said, "Did this...demonic weapon transform into a saintly weapon through killing?"
What was this?
Su Yu had killed so many people instantly. For some reason, that demonic weapon of his started emanating an even more saintly light after the mass murder. What in the world was this?
Su Yu ignored her and burned his book with the fire of inheritance, removing the bloody aura on it. Then, he smiled and said, "What do you know? I'm setting them free. In their next life, they will be able to learn more. I am improving their intelligence. Since they clearly lacked intelligence, I had no choice but to take on the task of freeing them from their ignorance."
On his book, 108 golden stripes could be clearly seen. The indistinct 109th golden stripe was slowly turning solid as well. The moment it turned fully solid, the Mark of Civilization would become a proper heaven weapon.
Yellow Nine felt slightly envious at the sight of the powerful weapon. She asked, "Are we tempering our right eyes next? By the way, can you forge a book for me as well?"
Wow. What a dreamer.
Su Yu was surprised by the sheer audacity of that request.
Yellow Nine laughed and said, "Don't look at me like that. I can pay for it. I can't afford a heaven weapon, but I can get the money from my elder."
"Heh."
Su Yu sneered. The money for a heaven weapon? What a beautiful dream.
He couldn't even be bothered to say anything. After moving to the next spot, he dug his other eyeball out and tossed it into the spring. After this, his eyes would be capable of combat. He had a feeling his eyes alone would be strong enough to fight Cloudbreaches.
Wouldn't that be impressive? After milking the entire first level dry, perhaps he could fight Mountainseas with his head alone. Sure enough, the mansion was a good place. As for the other treasures in the mansion, they were no longer capable of catching his eye.
