Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Under the care of Porlyusica, Felix had most of his wounds healed and taught the basic words. So, after a few days where he only needed a few bandages and applied some medicine, he met a short old man who took him away. Where they headed to a place called Fairy Tail.

Felix studied the old man's outfit wondering if this was this world fashion for he wore an orange jester outfit with a striped shirt underneath his jacket. The bells on his hat softly jingled as it covered his bald top as white hair jetted out from the sides. He wouldn't copy the hair style, but he wondered if wearing bright playful outfits were the fashion trend.

He attempted to listen to the old man speaking, but due to his unfamiliarity with the language he understood very little. From what Porlyusica taught him, he understood Makarov talking about magic, something about guilds being similar to family, while finally about eternal adventure. That was more or less what he felt was being talked about.

Upon arriving at a three story building where a sign hung above the door and a few banners hung with an outline of a fairy on it. Felix took it all in as Makarov opened the door and a brawl was happening inside. The leader was a red-haired girl in armor and a white hair one in black with a gothic theme going on.

"We…fight?" Felix asked slowly.

Makarov shook his head, before he suddenly turned into a raging giant and with two massive arms pinning the most destructive bunch. The fighting came to an end, before he returned to his small state.

He then listened to Makarov shouting at everyone, but Felix couldn't understand it. So, he just decided to look around and saw basically two different groups within. There were the older folk and then there were the teenagers. They are all minging together, but the stronger teens from before seem to make even the older ones tremble a bit.

Following Makarov to the counter, he soon had his forearm stamped with the fairy on the banner. Then a loud cheer filled the guild as everyone began to drink and party. Felix sat at the counter as another brawl soon started once more.

Watching, Felix's eyes began to linger on the girl dressed in black with white hair. While she seemed to wear an angry scowl, he felt she looked quite pretty. She would look more so if she smiled.

His constant staring seemed to have drawn her attention as she marched up to him. She seemed to be saying something about staring at her. Probably didn't like it as it was quite rude, but Felix couldn't really come up with words in this world language. So he decided to do it another way.

Felix pointed at himself, then at her all before making a heart with his hands. As she stuttered, he then pulled his hair a bit. She glared at him with red cheeks before trying to slug him in what he guessed was embarrassment.

Sadly, even if she tried to be playful, Felix reacted. His arm pushed away her strike as his other hand went for her vitals. His eyes filled with numbness as memories of fighting with other children filled his vision. Then, he felt something large coming from above and kicked the ground.

Where he once was, a large familiar hand landed before reaching out to grab him. His body moving on instinct, Felix went to dodge and began to prepare his magic. Only, this arm moved faster than before and managed to grab him, locking his movements and after struggling, Felix just lowered his head.

The brawl seemed to come to a stop as the eyes of nearly everyone lingered on him now. Felix felt a bit ashamed as he awaited his reprimand, punishment and shouting at his poor skills. The feeling of returning to the training camp filled his mind.

Just, the shouting and beating never come.

Instead, he was placed on the ground where Makarov retracted his arms and began to speak to him. Felix tried to follow what he was saying but once more unable to understand it fully. He could only get a general understanding, but despite his best efforts to learn this world language. He was still struggling, and only knew he was being reprimanded for using such attacks on family if he understood it correctly.

--

Time began to pass with that reprimand and as the days went by. Felix felt a bit slow trying to pick up the language while everyone else was shocked at the speed. He couldn't be considered fluent, but now could hold basic conversations with others.

Thanks to this, he learned that this world is called Earthland and the distant memories of his first life came to him. He remembered that this was an anime he watched once, but besides a few characters and general outline. His mind failed to recall much useful facts, beside Natsu was the male protagonist, Lucy was a stripper fighter, and Mirajane was the prettiest.

Felix recalled that Fairy Tail he is a part of is almost the center of most of the major events in the coming years. From being attacked by a large guild to vanishing for years after a dragon attack. There also seems to be a few major wars, but he was struggling since it had been almost twenty to thirty years since he last saw it.

He last watched the series when he was beginning Highschool and first reincarnated when he was closer to thirty than twenty, plus the time and years in Legend of Legendary Heroes. Those years in that training camp were long and made such simple memories feel far away.

"Felix, why don't you take on a mission?"

Makarov asked, as Felix sat at the counter slowly reading a book. It was a bit of a struggle for him to read, but he was slowly making his way through it. For the book was one of magic theory and overview of the history of magic.

"Mission?" Felix asked. "Is it to wipe out foreign forces or assassinate a general or noble?"

"Neither." Makarov shook his head.

Truth be told he felt his heart go cold as he felt angry at those that taught Felix. Still what is done is done and he can only help Felix to move on and not wallow in such torment. He believed Felix is still a good kid despite what was done to him.

So plopping down a mission request before Felix, Makarov waited for him to read it. Felix picked it up and began to read it.

"Find missing people from the village north of Magnolia. The reward is 40,000 Jewels."

Felix nodded as he was taught how to track so he could essentially search and destroy the enemy's forces. A good weapon after all is able to find its target since no matter how strong they are, if they can't strike, what good is it.

Closing his book, Felix got up and began to prepare to head out.

"Don't you want to team up with anyone?" Makarov suggested.

"Who should I team up with?" Felix asked.

"Macao, go with Felix." Makarov barked out.

Looking over, Felix saw Macao who was a slim, mildly muscular man of average height with short, straight, slicked back dark blue hair. He previously was drinking with his friend as they bragged about jobs they did in the past.

"I just came back from a job. Why don't you have one of the brats go with him." Macao replied.

"Mira, you go with him." Makarov tried.

"How much is the reward?" Mirajane asked.

"40,000 jewels."

"Barely pocket change after splitting it." Mirajane waved her hand.

Makarov didn't refute that as it really was pocket change. Yet, he kept trying to find someone, but most shook their heads. It would be fine going by themselves, but if they needed to split that little amount. They would barely break even getting to and back from there.

Felix, after hearing the two rejections, simply left silently. He quickly headed in the direction of the village. He read over the mission that explained that recently in the last few years, both adults and children have been vanishing. At first it was once every few months, but recently it has been almost once a week at most.

"Is it a monster or a monster in human skin?" Felix muttered to himself.
