The ceiling of the cavern exploded. Rubble rained down into the River of Time, vanishing instantly.
A beam of light descended. High Priest Valen floated down, surrounded by five Mechanical Seraphs.
"Step away from the Prisoner," Valen commanded. His voice was distorted, overlayed with System alerts. [Admin Mode: Active.][Threat Assessment: Critical.]
"Valen," Ren smiled lazily. "You look old. Did the update patch fail?"
"Silence, monster," Valen spat. He turned to Kaelen. "Boy, you have no idea what you are doing. That thing is not human. It is a cancer. If you break those chains, you end history."
"He's right," Kaelen said.
Valen paused. "You agree?"
"Yeah," Kaelen stepped forward. "Ren is dangerous. But..." Kaelen looked at the floating cities miles above. "...The System is a lie. It keeps us as pets. It purges anyone who asks questions."
"Order requires sacrifice," Valen raised his staff. "And today, you are the sacrifice."

A wall of white deletion fire swept across the island.
