Chapter 82 - Zero-G Riot

The gravity stabilizers in the Arena floor failed. Thousands of tons of rock, steel, and screaming spectators began to float.

In the locker room, the three Paladins drifted upward, flailing. They were trained for ground combat, not Zero-G. Kaelen, however, had the Aspect of Fluidity. He didn't need ground.

He kicked off the ceiling. He moved like a swimmer in water. He grabbed the floating Paladin Leader by the ankle.

"System Error," Kaelen whispered.

[Skill: Decay.] He rotted the thrusters on the Paladin's armor. The fuel tank ruptured. BOOM. The explosion sent the Paladin spinning into his teammates. They crashed through the locker room wall and drifted out into the open sky.

Kaelen floated through the hole. Chaos. The entire Arena was breaking apart. Massive chunks of stone drifted in the air. Players were using flight spells to escape. Civilians were clinging to railings.

"Rix!" Kaelen tapped his comms. "Where are you?"

"I'm at the North Gate!" Rix screamed over the static. "The magnetic locks on the whole sector are failing! This island is going to flip over!"

"Meet me at the Sanctum," Kaelen said. "I'm cutting through the middle."

Kaelen looked up. The Sanctum of the Sun—the massive golden cathedral—sat at the highest point of the city. It was currently floating upside down relative to Kaelen.

He saw a piece of debris drifting toward it. [Shadow Jump.] He teleported to the debris. Jump. Jump. Jump. He ascended the falling city like a staircase of shadows.
