Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 — A Sea King Who Uses His Body, Not His Heart

Mo Tingyan shrugged. "I don't quite remember. I only remember the current apple of my eye."

Wen Zhi's expression darkened slightly.

Sure enough… he was a Sea King.

But that was fine.

He didn't love her, and she didn't love him.

That made getting along easier, and when the time came to walk away, both could leave freely.

As for how he addressed her…

Let him be. It was just a codename.

"Starting today, we're officially living together as partners. Do you have any thoughts?"

"Thoughts…"

Mo Tingyan casually crossed his legs, half his body pressed against hers. His eyes were tinted with ambiguous heat, and his words were even more direct:

"I like exercise. I hope you'll cooperate with me every day."

Wen Zhi ground her teeth. "I'm talking about important matters in daily life."

"That is the most important. Didn't I say it? I'm addicted to you."

Wen Zhi was too lazy to continue discussing anything yellow with him.

She pushed his hand away, turned to face him, and said,

"This house was bought by you, and you added my name before the wedding. Just treat it as your bride price. So I should show some sincerity too."

As she spoke, she took a bank card from her bag and placed it on the coffee table.

"My monthly salary is six thousand, plus flight-time bonuses and the extra income from side jobs. They're all in this card. Mortgage, living expenses—whatever it is—I can share the burden with you."

Mo Tingyan glanced at the card she placed down, raising a brow.

"You're trying to go half with me?"

"Calling it AA might make me sound like I'm taking advantage of you. But this is all I earn right now."

Compared to the mortgage, her money was a drop in the bucket.

But she didn't want to take advantage of anyone, nor did she want to be a parasite in a marriage.

If they were cooperating as partners, she should have the attitude of one.

Mo Tingyan studied her closely.

This was the first time a woman had ever been willing to hand him her entire savings.

He took out his wallet, pulled out a card, placed it on top of hers, and stuffed both cards into her palm.

"A man providing for his family is only natural. This is my salary card. My essential personal expenses and the mortgage are handled through e-banking. The rest is yours. From now on, you manage the money. Okay?"

Wen Zhi was slightly taken aback.

They had known each other for less than twenty-four hours.

Yet he had married her, added her name to the property, and now… even handed her his salary card?

Wen Zhi couldn't help questioning whether Mo Tingyan had some ulterior motive for choosing her.

Seeing the wariness flash across her face, Mo Tingyan let out a wicked grin and leaned in, interrupting her thoughts.

His warm breath brushed her cheek as he spoke lazily, lips curved:

"Look, I gave you my salary card. So about what I mentioned earlier… will you satisfy me?"

Wen Zhi: "…"

Three sentences and he couldn't leave the bedroom topic.

Truly a Sea King—using his body but not his heart!

She casually pocketed both cards and returned to her serious tone.

"For future major expenses, I'll discuss them with you. Right now… the house is too empty. We need to buy some furniture. Do you agree?"

"Whatever you want. Up to you."

As he spoke, he lowered his head and kissed her lips, clearly wanting to continue.

Wen Zhi was genuinely shocked.

It had been less than an hour since he had just finished tormenting her…

Wasn't he tired?

She twisted out of his arms and stood up, avoiding his advances.

"I'm tired."

Dragging her suitcase, she prepared to go to the guest room.

Seeing this, Mo Tingyan stepped forward and blocked her, frowning with a hint of displeasure.

"You're going to sleep separately from me?"

Wen Zhi lifted her eyes.

Who didn't want a big bed of their own?

"What else?"

"Husbands and wives should sleep together."

But Wen Zhi firmly shook her head.

Sleeping in the same room meant no privacy at all.

"I'm not used to sleeping with someone else."

"You'll get used to it."

But Wen Zhi's attitude was firm.

"If you don't accept it, I'll move back to my old place."

Mo Tingyan clicked his tongue.

What a temper. Stubborn as hell.

Fine.

She was already his wife anyway—no need to rush.

And so, their AA-style cooperative life officially began…

Early the next morning, both had flight assignments, their departure times thirty minutes apart.

After breakfast, Wen Zhi changed into her work uniform.

When she came out, Mo Tingyan was waiting for her.

Pulling her suitcase, she walked toward him.

"We can go."

Mo Tingyan looked at her, understanding flashing in his eyes.

Dressed in her stewardess uniform, Wen Zhi was indeed pure and seductive all at once.

With that face and figure, men and women alike would stare.

Wen Zhi noticed he wasn't moving—just looking her up and down with a probing gaze.

"What is it?" she asked.

Mo Tingyan grinned, unrestrained.

"Nothing. Just thinking… my little treasure is really… tempting."

Wen Zhi: "Hurry up. If you're late, you deal with it."

When they reached the airport parking lot, Wen Zhi reminded him,

"I'll go first. Wait a bit before getting out of the car. Otherwise, it won't look good if someone sees us."

With that, she pulled her suitcase and got out.

She had taken only a few steps when she heard rapid high-heel footsteps behind her and a familiar voice—

"Wen Zhi!"

Wen Zhi frowned instinctively at the sound.

It was her colleague—Yan Duo.

Just like her name, she talked a lot, gossiped even more, and couldn't keep a secret to save her life.

There were so many cars here… hopefully, she hadn't seen Wen Zhi getting out of Mo Tingyan's car.

Turning around, Wen Zhi saw Yan Duo giving Mo Tingyan a polite nod, calling out:

"Morning, Captain Mo!"

Mo Tingyan responded with a lazy lift of his chin.

Yan Duo then jogged to Wen Zhi's side, shoulder pressed against hers, eyes shining with gossip as she stared at Wen Zhi in disbelief.

"I saw everything! You got out of Captain Mo's car just now! You two aren't…?"
