Chapter 164 - Chapter 164: Bronya’s Succession

After arriving in the Overworld, the people from the Underworld all had their own things to take care of, so as soon as they got off the cable car, they said their goodbyes to one another. This time, they had returned to the Overworld by cable car.

As for the train crew, they ran into Gepard, who was waiting at the station entrance.

Gepard apologized stiffly and formally to Dan Heng and the other two for what had happened in the Silvermane Restricted Zone.

At first, Nero was still a bit confused, until he heard Stelle's arrogant line, "Haha, got beaten into submission by us, huh?" Only then did he finally recall which part of the story this was.

After that, Gepard extended an invitation to everyone, saying that Bronya hoped the members of the train crew could attend her succession address.

But compared to that, everyone was actually more concerned about Bronya's current physical condition.

Still, since Gepard had come personally to invite them, they naturally had to go take a look at the succession ceremony. The location was the Everwinter Monument.

Along the way, everyone noticed quite a few wanted posters.

There were abstract ones, good-looking ones, everything you could imagine.

The art styles were extremely polarized. Some looked like rough doodles, while others had the style of a shoujo manga.

Since Gepard was right there, the train crew asked him about it.

Gepard said awkwardly that he and Pela were responsible for drawing the wanted posters.

The abstract ones were his masterpieces, while the shoujo-manga-style ones were Pela's.

No one said anything too harsh about Gepard's lack of artistic talent. After all, the artistic cells of the current generation of the Landau family probably all went to Serval.

March held up her own two different wanted posters and asked curiously, "So why were wanted posters drawn like this still allowed to be put up? Did you use your authority or something?"

Gepard looked at March's innocent face, at those clear eyes, and fell into speechlessness.

It was obvious from the girl's expression that she was genuinely curious, with no ill intent at all.

But precisely because of that, it hurt even more.

"Actually… you might not believe me if I say it…" Gepard said hesitantly. "The first ones I drew were really good."

March looked at her own abstract poster, then at Gepard's awkward expression.

"How is that possible…" The pretty girl narrowed her eyes, not believing his words at all.

"By the way, why do I feel like Nero's wanted poster looks better than ours?"

Stelle's voice came from the side, and March immediately leaned over.

At that moment, Stelle was holding Sampo's shoujo-manga-style wanted poster and comparing it with Nero's own shoujo-manga-style poster.

From the brushwork, art style, and coloring, it was clearly the work of the same person.

But for some reason, Nero's poster just looked much better.

When the two were compared side by side, Sampo was clearly holding a rose in his mouth, yet he gave off the feeling of standing next to a trash can.

Meanwhile, Nero's poster, even though he was simply holding a warm plush toy, seemed to be glowing as if he were standing under a spotlight.

"It's probably just an illusion…" March said, touching her chin.

Dan Heng, "..."

'What is there to study about wanted posters anyway.'

"Ah!" Nero suddenly lit up and said, "Maybe what Gepard said is actually true!"

"How could that be…" March pouted, clearly unconvinced.

Nero rummaged around on himself, took out the wanted poster he had torn down from the Everwinter Monument, unfolded it, and placed it next to the one Pela had drawn.

If the shoujo-manga-style poster they had now was Pela's work, then the one from the Everwinter Monument was, without a doubt… drawn by Gepard.

Although the styles were different, when the two pictures were placed together, they gave off the same kind of charm.

Gepard also walked over to take a look, then said, "Yes, that's it. This one was also drawn by me. S-see, I told you, I drew really well at the beginning!"

No sooner had Gepard finished speaking than he met March's resentful gaze.

"If you can draw well… then why did you still draw stuff like this!"

March pointed at her abstract wanted poster, just short of slapping the paper onto Gepard's face.

Once there was a comparison, a pretty girl would start caring about this kind of thing.

And the only response March could get was Gepard's sincere confusion.

"Actually, I don't know either. I'm not afraid of you laughing at me when I say this, but it was because the first one I drew turned out like that that I ended up being responsible for drawing the rest of the wanted posters."

"As for why this kind of phenomenon appeared, I really don't know."

Dan Heng looked at Gepard, then at March and Stelle, then at the posters, and finally at the smiling Nero, "..."

He suddenly thought of the new friend Nero had mentioned, Silver Branch, and at the same time, countless unusual things about Nero flashed through his mind.

'A Knight of Pure Beauty… So, is this related to Idrila?'

'Or is it just one of Aha's pranks?'

The group chatted as they walked and did not dwell on the wanted poster matter for too long.

When they arrived near the Everwinter Monument, quite a few people had already gathered there, but the succession ceremony had not officially started yet, and Bronya had not arrived either.

So everyone waited for a bit on a nearby bench.

Soon after, the succession address proceeded normally, with no major accidents, and the level of public support was even quite high.

Just as Bronya had said, a considerable number of people believed that Cocolia had been a competent and excellent Guardian. From these aspects alone, at least she had handled some of the most basic matters fairly well in her day-to-day work.

And Bronya also relayed to the people of Belobog the explanation she had already prepared earlier on the northern snowfield.

The Trailblazing Squad did not stand too close to the scene, only watching quietly from afar. Still, they could see quite a few familiar faces in the crowd attending the address.

March drank a beverage she had no idea where she bought, while Dan Heng sat down and quietly read his book.

It was the first time for both Stelle and Nero to take part in trailblazing, so their attention was more drawn to the ceremony site. The former sat on a chair, while the latter sat on the railing.

The address ended quickly. After it was over, the Trailblazing Squad went straight to Qlipoth Fort to find Bronya.

This newly appointed Supreme Guardian was in much better condition than when she had just left the battlefield.

"Bronya! We're back! The address was really cool!" March said with a grin.

Bronya also smiled with gratitude. "March, Dan Heng, Stelle, Nero, it's great that you were able to make it to the address.

"Sorry, I know the schedule was arranged too tightly… but I didn't want to keep the citizens waiting for too long. The more groundless suspicion there is, the easier it is for the situation to spiral out of control."

"You've grown up, Nineteenth Supreme Guardian," Nero teased.

Bronya's face reddened slightly. "I don't really want to be praised like that by a child…" Then she thought of her several interactions with Nero, smiled openly, and said, "But… thank you, Nero."
