3 minute before Arthur arrived.
She walks slowly opening her eyes and glancing around the room. Nothing is amiss, but somebody isn't there. A simple thought ruminates her mind, over and over again.
"Where is he?"
The room starts to spin and her anxiety manifests and it feels as if it's choking her off air. 'I can't' she thinks as she starts to feel breathless. She tries to speak, but just noises and being unable to speak makes her anxiety worse and pushes her further to the cliff that she has been walking towards in her life.
She walks towards the edge and looks over to see bright lights below and voices calling to her. 'Arthur' 'Are you down there?' she questions and a voice replies 'Come Sophie'. In that moment she smiles as if the thought of being left behind is gone and she thinks that ''They were waiting for me all along".
Mom, dad and Arthur. I'll see you soon.
'Come here Soph' says her Grandma as she envisions a past memory that gave the will to live. She looks back at them and smiles while soft tears slide down her face.
'NANA' shouts young Sophie as she gets her attention and she plays with her. A memory of joy that makes her want to walk back and capture that moment, but she falls to the ground.
She reaches out for it, yearning to return to those days. Beyond is a tiny spark calling out to her. "SOPHIE" it says repeatedly getting louder and louder until she notices. She sees his face again, worried and distraught.
He hugs her as she lay on the ground and the warmth she was yearning for seeped into her heart and woke her up.
"I'm here" he says whispering in her ear and she weeps like a child in his warm embrace. She calls out his name "ARTHUR" multiple times to make sure he is real.
"Don't leave me ever again" she says before slowly going to sleep in his arms and he replies "I won't" as she goes back into her slumber.
At the scene where Arthur found Sophie, Whips arrive from Congress.
They see the body saying "Wow" "Must of been a strong person to do this to a leader." "Must of been" replies the other whip.
A leader arrives on scene as the whips and expendables make way. They look at corpses and reach into their pocket, bringing out a cigarette and lighting it taking a deep puff and exhaling and saying "Let's go out hunting boys".
The whips understood straight away and take command of the expendables, shouting at one of them "Oi Mutt track it". He rushes towards the corpses and tries to grab their scent.
"The hunt isn't finished" says Arthur as he sees more prey have come.
As he places her on the bed, he says "I'll be right here" while she is asleep. He goes into his inventory and pulls out a regen shot. He sticks her and sees her body go limp. He tucks her in to bed and holds her hand before letting go.
He goes down stairs to extend the to 7 days and leaves. He returns home and just sits on his bed. He thinks to himself 'the shot lasts for 3 days so i don't have long'. He thinks about all his current problems and it gives him a headache and he falls backwards onto his bed.
'Those guys weren't even an appetizer' he thinks back to the guild members in the alley.
After Arthur first left the hotel, he steps out and stands there with a gentle breeze taking him.
"Have you found him yet mutt" asks the leader. "Not yet" he says as the leader slaps him across the head. One of the whips that are watching them asks "What is he doing?".
"Are you new or something?" he asks without looking at him with his arms behind his head stretching. "Yes i am" replies the whip.
"Well listen up newbie" "He is getting the scents from the area and trying to trace it back to whoever fucked with us" "and why the leader calls him mutt?" "Because his a fucking dog" he says at the end while laughing hysterically and others join in too.
Mutt gets an epiphany and sniffs around to follow the scent as he has picked it up. He looks behind him, but the scent gets weaker. He does circles around the area as the scent is strongest there and nowhere else.
"Is he here?" asks mutt as the scent is so close to him and his confusion is abundant. "What do you mean is he here?" utters another whip.
The leader hearing them bicker looks annoyed as he continues to smoke to alleviate and help him ascend in that moment as he looks up in the air while exhaling. "These Idiots..." he doesn't finish his sentence and stands there motionless.
Mutt picks up the scent again and looks towards the leader as he smells him nearby. "Erm leader" he says cowering to speak to him. He gets closer and closer, but no response from the leader.
He goes right up towards him and goes around to look at his face, he sees all the black daggers piercing his body and gets shocked and stumbles backwards.
"AHHH" he screams afterwards looking at corpse standing motionless. He points towards the leader as the whips come towards them and he says "His dead" "SOMEBODY KILLED HIM" he shouts at the end as a whip looks at him as well and sees the blood and daggers.
The whip tries to compose himself and command the remaining people around saying "Listen up" "We know that.."
Shock and horror fuse and become his worst nightmare as he points towards his friend.
"M...M...Mike" he says shaking as he points.
Mike confused as to what is happening asking "What?". In one swift motion, Arthur snaps his neck and his whole head twists seeing behind him. "Did I turn around?" he questions as he sees Arthur as a demonic being.
Mike drops the ground and Arthur disappears. "WATCHOUT" "HE COULD BE ANYWHERE" shouts the whip as they try to get on guard, but a simple
Crack Crack
The light is gone from the alleyway and it's complete darkness. Mutt fumbles to get his phone out and turn on his flash. He hears grunts, whimpers and calls for help before they can even finish a sentence.
Finally when he turns the flash on, he looks around and all he sees are corpses and blood scattered everywhere. He moves his phone to see if anyone is alive and even calls out to them "Hello" "Anyone?".
No answer.
He keeps moving his phone until a phone appears right in front of the light and says "Hello" looking like a demon and kills him with screams echoing out.
