Thanks to Makarov and Ur explaining beforehand that Raizel, Selene, Irene, and Kurnugi were allies, the assembled Mages were even more encouraged.
They had several dragons helping them, Dragon Slayer Mages gathered together, the Black Wizard Zeref, who was said to stand on the same level as the Black Dragon, and even the Spriggan 12 who guarded him.
It made them feel that this battle could be won.
With so many people gathered, they naturally needed a formation.
Raizel, Selene, and Irene would serve as the main force and confront Acnologia head-on.
Kurnugi would lead the Dragon Slayer Mages on the left flank, while August would lead Ultear, Erza, Mira, and the others on the right.
Gildarts, giant Makarov, beastman Wolfheim, and Elfman in full Beast Soul Take Over would harass Acnologia from behind.
Precht, Zeref, Jellal, Ur, and the others who were suited to fighting as casters could attack whenever Acnologia was clashing with someone else and had no chance to devour Magic Power.
Raizel had already confirmed it with August.
With Brandish's Magic Power, she could enlarge Natsu to Acnologia's height for around thirty minutes, though the exact time would depend on the Magic Power of the person being enlarged.
But August also knew Size Magic.
"August-san, enlarge Natsu!"
"Brandish, enlarge Laxus! Same height as Acnologia!"
August and Brandish did as told, and Natsu and Laxus instantly grew taller until they were staring Acnologia in the eye.
"So big!!!"
Lucy and Jenny Realight, the two blond Mages, covered their mouths and cried out in shock.
"So tall!!!"
Their pants did not tear, and even their clothes were fine, because Brandish and August had enlarged their clothing along with their bodies.
"Hehe. Gramps, I'm taller than you now!"
Natsu bared his teeth and flashed a peace sign.
"Same here."
Laxus shamelessly grinned as well.
"How dare you two grow taller than me!!!"
Makarov, who had used Giant Magic, refused to accept this.
"The real war begins now! Acnologia!"
At Raizel's command, Natsu was the first to charge.
Beneath the night sky, a gigantic figure with black-red flames burning around his right arm swung that arm toward Acnologia.
The blazing fire was bright and scorching, lighting up the white scarf Igneel had given Natsu and his short pink hair.
It had to be said, when it came to leading the charge, Natsu was still the best choice.
That reckless, hot-blooded spirit of his, like a newborn calf unafraid of a tiger, had a way of dragging everyone around him forward.
Sorano, Racer, Sheria and the others, who had been shaken by Acnologia moments ago, found their courage rising again.
Just as Acnologia was about to clash with Natsu, Raizel thrust the giant lance 'Ambrosius' toward Acnologia's chest.
Irene and Selene both knew Magic would not have much effect on Acnologia, so they stretched out their claws and launched into close combat as well.
Acnologia was first struck by the lance, then took the giant Fire Dragon King's Demolition Fist to the left side of his face.
Right after that came the claws of the Sage Dragon and the Moon Dragon.
"Crimson Lightning Fire Dragon's Demolition Fist!"
The enlarged Laxus slammed a furious punch filled with three-colored lightning into Acnologia's abdomen.
"Sword Saint Dragon's Demolition Fist!"
Kurnugi refused to fall behind. He was the actual dragon here, all right?!
Then it was the right flank's turn to attack.
"Enchant: Dragon Slayer Laser Beam!" August fired.
"Requip: Ink Dragon Armor!"
Erza changed into her armor and weapons enchanted with Dragon Slayer Magic.
She held her heaven Halberd in her right hand and the golden dragon-slaying sword Altron in her left.
"Archenemy: Azure Phoenix Form and Astron: Azure Dragon Form!"
Kagura slashed with both blade and sword, crossing them over Acnologia's abdomen.
The phantoms of the azure phoenix and azure dragon crashed into Acnologia one after another.
Mira swept past Acnologia on black wings and left white claw marks across his back with BlackWarGreymon's claws.
"Arc of Time: Eight Dragon Crushing Fang!"
Under Ultear's control, eight violent streams of Dragon Slayer energy surged toward Acnologia.
Magic of every color intertwined and exploded across Acnologia's body, sending dust and smoke rolling into the sky until his massive figure was buried within it.
At the center of the explosion, Acnologia merely beat his wings and continued devouring the Magic Power around him.
But he was not unharmed.
A round wound had appeared on his abdomen, while the left side of his face carried both scratches and burns.
As for the damage caused by Laxus, Kurnugi, Erza, and the others, it was there, but not much.
Erza and Kagura froze for a moment.
They had not expected weapons enchanted with Dragon Slayer Magic to barely hurt Acnologia.
Even so, they did not lose heart.
As long as they could damage him at all, that was enough. They all understood that small wounds could build up over time.
Acnologia flew into a rage.
He raised his only remaining right arm high and swung it forward.
He also wanted to sweep his dragon tail, but Makarov, Wolfheim, and Elfman were behind him, desperately grabbing onto it.
Even as the tail dragged them across the ground, none of them let go.
"ROOOOOOOARRRRR!"
Acnologia's roar tore into the sky, sharp enough to split stone and pierce metal.
The Mages present, especially the Dragon Slayer Mages, covered their ears in pain.
The worst off was Cobra as blood had already started flowing from his ears.
No matter how tightly he covered them, he could not block the sound.
Once again, he was troubled by the fact that his hearing was too good.
"Everyone, hearing sensitivity—lower!"
Mira released her Magic Power in full.
A layer of Curse Power wrapped around every Mage present.
Raizel, still in Examon Take Over, roared toward the sky.
"Don't get too arrogant, Acnologia!"
Caledfwlch, the special wings on Examon's back made entirely of Chrome Digizoid, detached from Raizel and stabbed toward Acnologia.
Raizel also raised Ambrosius and drove the giant lance forward again.
Acnologia was knocked back by Caledfwlch, his roar forcibly cut off, and three more bleeding holes appeared in his body.
Irene and Selene seized the opening as well.
"Moonlight Blade!"
"Sage Dragon's Crushing Fang!"
Two sharp bursts of force shot from the claws of the giant dragons and tore toward Acnologia's abdomen.
Mira released the hearing-suppression Curse, and Natsu, Laxus, Gajeel, Erza, and the others shook themselves clear before launching another wave of attacks.
"Crimson Lightning Fire Dragon's Fangtian Halberd!"
"Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Crimson Lotus: Exploding Lightning Blade! Karma Demon: Iron God Sword! Shattering Light: Sky Drill!"
"Poison Dragon's Roar!"
"Holy Shadow Dragon Flash Fang!"
Sting and Rogue unleashed their Unison Raid.
Ultear, Erza, Kagura, and Mira each displayed their own abilities as attacks poured toward Acnologia from every direction like a storm.
"Regulus Impact!" Lucy shouted in Leo Star Dress.
"Ice Devil's Zeroth Destruction Bow!"
"Water Slicer!"
"Ice-Make: Hōsenka!"
"Ice-Make: Ice Dragon!"
Lyon controlled a lifelike ice dragon and sent it clawing heavily at Acnologia.
