Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:Cresent Town

Act I-Tradegy

[Central Plains of Abundance]

[Crescent Town]

Cresent;a town located in the central Plains of Elyndor, which was the most clamest region that is suitable for life, was named as 'Cresent' due to it's twin arc walls that face each other, like two cresent moons on the ground.

It's walls have has other purposes, a longhouses with divided into units, 5 stories height, living quarters of the peasants because it has spacious space that can be divided into 5 rooms per unit, has insulations, ventilation and already built bathrooms that doesn't fit in this era, the interior is like a a typical modern house which is questionable, while the walls that face the outside are made of mysterious magically enchanted metal from first generation of this town.

The space between the two cresent are vast and there built many buildings that help the town running while in the very center is a gurdian statue, then around the statues are the 7 great families estates(yes a damn estate, just imagine how big the town really is), while the rest are for crucial things...(that I didn't research myself and I mentioned it above...please just drop this...I beg of you.)

Elyndor continent composed of 5 regions which is was very vast(threefold size of Asia for comparison) and is the most safest continent in the whole world of Eryndral.

While Cresent Town is called as a 'Town' but it's incomprehensibly much larger than a normal town(can you even called it a town? It's more like a kingdom more or less, in terms of how vast it is).

(The day time and night last for 3 days here and I don't know why...and I didn't set up a system for it because he told me to just write it, so just imagine things becauseof this bad and lazy writing.)

Story starts...

L120 of Cresent Calendar

The shiny things in the sky is what I stare to immerse myself while walking and ignoring the subtle bustling talks of some people who are up for evening stroll.

Holding my book to my side, about the town's history and it's interesting aspects , I starts to ponder my life while immersed on those shiny things on the sky and according to the book they're called "stars" and they represent the dead ones that ascendedto the sky, but then seeing the nightsky makes me wonder how miniscule I am in this vast town.

The evening breeze blew in a rhythm and my heartbeat seems to synced with my footsteps, It was so peaceful under the moonlight's grace.

I'm Almitch Fornflare, the eighth daughter of the Fornflare household who are part of the 7 great families of the Cresent Town.

The patriarch fo the Fornflare family, or rather my father if I could even call him that way, is a powerful and famous figure in the town, he is a womaniser so that's why he had 25 kids from different women and that also a reason that I barely see him once in every month because I was the 8th daughter of his, which made me ineligible for succession.

But even so, I still was treated as a rival, and so my older siblings makes my life hard for me, and that includes commanding servants of the household to treat me indifferently, so I could only ignore that and hope that it continues the way.

We're famous for advanced poison and medicine arts, that are mainly used for hunting and medicines and also saving lives, but our household is more like a dukedom that I read from novels of the Town's Grand Library.

But for me, I have no interest on my family works, but rather I'm more focused on exploring and become an adventurer that experience the wonder of this beautiful world.

And so I couldn't wait for my legal age, so I could go out of this town, so in my free time I try to study fire magic, since it's the most popular among adventurers nowadays.

(30 is the legal age here since the average lifespan is 120 years old...due to having a 3 days long daytime and night-time, which doesn't came from me but from requester.)

She's 28 right now btw.

*Sigh*

I released a sigh of relief and also chuckles upon realising that I was too immersed on my thoughts like right now, that I slightly passed by our estate gates that is large enough for anyone to not miss, so I couldn't help but to smile and feel silly for that, haha.

[Fornflare Household]

Fornflare house, a gigantic estate with large frontyard and backyard that is located near to the center where the Guardians' statue erected at, and where all other great families' houses also built alongside with it.

Its size as grand manor doesn't do justice as it has a size of an estate but much closer to a palace in landsize it oocupies.

The exterior is grand and all, like a typical estate that royal occupies and there's the servants and other things you typically see.

Although Almitch's situation is not ideal...

*Creak*

*Shut*

I slowly opens the gate and close it since it was unlocked, servants didn't even bat an eye on me nor help me, but I couldn't do anything.

The atmosphere is silent and awkward that I didn't want to stay any longer, so holding my book, I head to my home...well not the estate of course but rather a medium size wooden house that is marvelously made by a carpenter, a small gift from my father or atleast his fatherly love for me.

It contains enough room for essentials and for my personal quarter, and most of the time I'm alone since my mother died after birthing me nor siblings that came from her, soo it itch a little bit thinking about it, but I don't blame myself for it.

The patriarch doesn't even care about us at all except for basic allowance for my monthy expenses.

*Creaks*

*Shut*

I entered house and lit up the chandelier with fire magic and take off my shoes before entering the bathroom and take a bath.

The fatigue rushing out of me as soon I soaked into the warm water.

The refreshing feeling and warmth, made my mind at ease and washing away the stress as I lay my lead to the tub's edge, but then I remember that he's still here.

Upon recalling, I scoff at myself for forgetting him so I hummed a tuned, then continued my bath and I will prepare the dinner right away after I finish.

Upstairs, there's Kaiser waiting for her to him, so he could eat, the steam from the kitchen and it's aroma is appetising that suggests him to peek at her while cooking, but he's too shy to do so, and because of that he continues to read a grimore about Ice Magic while resisting the temptation.

10 minutes later.

"Kaiser, come down now, dinner's ready!" I called him out as I finished setting up the table and we're ready to eat.

"Coming..." a little boy voice echoes, meek and shy, he replies with such voice so I couldn't help but chuckle.

Kaiser, is the last son of the family, same boat as me since his mother also died after birthing him, but it's just a few days ago since he move in because of an incident that caused a fire on where he stays at.

And since I'm kind of benevolent myself, I took him in, and will let him stay until he moves out or found another home to stay at, and it was also because I'm the only sibling of his that want to give shelter for him, and the patriarch sent a letter that subtly suggest that I should do it, I just inly hope that he would also increase my allowance, a little bit, hehe...of course that is excluding Kaiser's allowance that would be put in my management since he's still a kid.

His introverted and shy nature makes him adorable and cute, he actually made me remember of my old doll that I played since I was a kid because of his golden hair, cute innocent looking face and short frame, but beneath that, he's also a pyromaniac...

This brat was the cause of the incident that lead him homeless, and he can become freak when using Fire Magic as he seem to become wild and do anything he wants to try with fire, so in my conclusion, I forbid him using any elemental magic except for Ice, so he could learn control, calm and composed, since I've heard that your main element that you use will reflect your personality.

Anyways, I prepared vegetable stew and fried rice for dinner, while cookies for dessert if he wants some.

After this I should head to bed and sleep, I was really exhausted from today's activity...but I should also do a quick stroll at today's midnight then head back to sleep and then there's that...and blah blah blah...and so I planned what I should do tomorrow.

With all schedule decided in my mind, I snap back to reality and focused on eating what's on my plate, while on another side, there's Kaiser looking at me with pleading face while chewing his food.

"No." I firmly replied.

And so he got into a Godforsaken face as if someone took his soul out of him, I rolled my eyes and ask.

"Did you learn something from the grimore today?" He froze for a sec before nodding with a seemingly forced smile, that scares me for a sec.

Did he do something wrong??? But...he jsut started learning Ice magic a few days ago...so it can't be or maybe he can't grasp it so he's acting like that from shame...maybe that's the case.

After dismissing those thoughts in mind, I properly arrange the utensils that I used onto the plate then wipe my mouth with a tissue, then put it on the sink for tomorrow's morning dishwashing and throwing the used tissue onto the trash bin.

After drinking a glass of water I head upstairs but stop for a moment to say eat well and eat faster to Kai, who's still eating timidly, then head upstairs to sleep.

As she head upstairs, Kai look at her fleeting figure with awkward gaze as if he's cooked or will be cooked later either way, as Almitch touch the door handle, an icy sensation flows through her palm, from there she realised what is Kaiser's awkward look all about.

She inhale some air and opens the door with exhausted sigh, as she stood there, welcomed by countless ice miniature and a whole ice kingdom in her room that made her personal space a frozen world, so she cursed and sleep in her icy bed, mumbling how to punish the little gremlin tomorrow.
