Chapter 8 - Dear Life

"Wow… so I have a stalker?" Lucas murmured

"What are you talking about idiot? Who would want to stalk you." Lucas's sister aggressively said.

Damn girl chill… let Lucas have his moment!

But Lucas paid no attention to Stella's insults. Not because he was deep in thought about his cute stalker but because he hears it everyday.

'She is kind of cute… WAIT NO!! I AM LOYAL TO MISS LILY… AND BOSS… and Sabrina… okay maybe one more won't hurt, right?'

Lucas sighed and scratched the back of his head. He head back inside and into his room, where he spent most of his time besides at the office.

'Why am I even acting like they all have a crush on me? Who would like a worthless nobody like me, who's good at nothing?! Sometimes I just want to… die or something.' Lucas jumped in his bed and pondered.

I know I'm the narrator, but even I have never seen Lucas like th—

"I FUCKING HATE THIS!"

In a moments notice, there were tear drops forming in Lucas's eyes.

"Hey, you good up there?" Stella worriedly asked her older brother.

Those tear drops turned into puddles and those small breaths turned into pants.

Man, I don't want to narrate this scene…

"It's just not fair… I'm around all these beautiful women, but I stand no chance. It's like smelling a cologne that something else is wearing… you can always enjoy it, but it eventually turns into envy."

"Mom… dad, why'd you have to die. Elder brother, you would have the perfect adivce for me… why did you all leave me and Stella…"

Thump!

A banging noise came from the other side of Lucas's bedroom door. Lucas quickly wiped his tears and fixed his smile, but it was to late.

Stella barged into the room and jumped on Lucas.

"Big brother!"

Sob

Stella began to form a pond on Lucas's chest from her endless supply of tears.

"Please don't cry, big brother. I was just a baby when they left us, but I can't bear seeing you cry for something I can't help with at all! I feel useless…"

Lucas stared at her for a minute, the tears still gently sliding down his cheeks. He said nothing, and smiled smiled while patting her back.

'I don't need any one to love for now, my dear sister is enough.'

WHAT??

'I'm grateful for having a family member who I can rely on, and I hope she relies on me too.'

He hugged her slightly tighter while trying to hold back the tears.

Phew! It was just family love. If it was something else, nevermind…

"Lucas."

Gasp!

Lucas was standing in a bright world, with nothing but the endless white sky that reflected onto the clear ground.

"Lucas."

Lucas's eyes widened as he observed his surroundings.

"Who is that? Show your self!"

"What are you talking about? I am you.

Suddenly, a mirror with the same apperence as Lucas on the other side appeared, and it talked.

'Huh?! What's going on?!'

Lucas was perplexed and took a few steps away from the mirror.

"What… how do you look like me??"

"I don't look like you… I am you."

Lucas's jaw dropped and he was speechless, but he felt a sense of comfort when seeing himself.

"Do you want to change?" The Lucas in the mirror asked.

Lucas thought about the question for a moment, but the answer was in him the whole time. "No, I love myself the way I am."

The mirror Lucas seemed confused.

"I thought you hated your life?"

"I do."
