Chapter 108 - ACT THREE: THE CORE OF THE WORLD

CHAPTER 9: THE GREAT SYNCHRONIZATION

Back aboard the Abyssal Walker, Mira felt the shift instantly.

The pressure that had been crushing them vanished. The frantic, erratic pulsing of the Deep Spire smoothed out into a slow, powerful heartbeat that resonated through the entire ocean.

"Eira did it," Mira said, tears stinging her eyes. "She reached the Warden."

"Now comes the hard part," Orin reminded her, steering the ship upward as the currents around them roared back to life, now strong, clear, and purposeful. "Opening the gates was only half the job. Now we have to make sure the whole system moves together. If the North releases energy while the South is still trying to absorb it, or vice versa, we'll tear the planet apart."

They communicated rapidly through the beacon network, coordinating with Eira at the top of the world. The plan they had sketched out—the Thermal Balance Wheel—now had to become reality.

"Eira!" Mira sent her thought across the miles. "Release the cold current! Let the deep chill flow down the continental shelves!"

"Received!" Eira's voice came back, clear and steady. "Opening the ice vents! Sending the ancient cold southward!"

Simultaneously, Mira and Orin guided the warm, energy-rich water rising from the Trench, directing it along the great submerged mountain ranges toward the poles.

It was the most delicate work they had ever done. They were literally handling the planet's blood supply. For hours, they worked in perfect sync: the Waterkeeper guiding the flow, the Deepwalker reading the terrain, and the Frost-Maiden regulating the release of cold and pressure.

They created a vast, global cycle: Warm, magic-heavy water rose from the depths, traveled along the surface to the poles, cooled and gave up its excess energy to the ice and air, and then sank back down to be refreshed again. It was the old cycle, but amplified, strengthened, and expanded to carry the new, powerful magic they had unlocked across the world.

"It's beautiful," Orin whispered, watching the streams of light intertwine on his instruments. "It's like a giant heart beating around the globe."
