Chapter 12 - Deadly teachers

One giant stop caught everyone's attention and made them turn around to look deeper into the cave. The next simply confirmed what they feared.

What came through was truly a sight. Large, thick hooved feet, with the body of a bull, it had glowing moss all over it. It stood at least twenty feet tall, its horns were like fully obsidian curved great swords on its head.

He wouldn't wish to get impaled by them. Nobody would.

harken was about to reach into his sack, stepping forward.

The very instant he did, the giant bull charged him, seeming to shake the whole cave with each step.

Its horns crashed onto the floor. Harken had slid under the monstrosity. "This thing has a temper."

He said as he dodged.

Jairo jumped back, while Ariel jumped upwards, on top of it.

Nero had grabbed its leg, holding on tight as he pushed, and the beast that had to weigh thousands of pounds seemed to almost moved, before responding with fury.

It swung its head and Nero was sent flying into a cave wall. The wave from his crash knocked moss off of the cave walls.

Maribel was nowhere to be seen. Ariel was swinging at it, cutting at the topf of its back and drawing blood.

But that was not cutting it. And what was Jairo to do? Watch? He felt useless. More than useless. He backed up. He'd only get in the way.

He saw How Maribel had left, Ariel had a worried expression and Nero was unconscious. All of them were most likely better than him in every reguard. What was he to do?

Just the, harken came from behind him and yanked him back. As Jairo turned angrily, he stopped what he was going to say.

For some reason…Harken seemed different.

"Alright. Are we gonna stop playing with this damn thing or not?" Harken said. If one were to look at his body, they would see not only were his eyes now glowing, but a runic symbol had formed on his head. On his back, what seemed to be a leaf glowed behind him.

He was almost glowing with runic symbols connecting themselves on different parts of his body.

Nero got up as well. He touched his head and saw blood. A laugh echoed across the cave. "He got me good didn't he?" His amused expression quickly turned to serious, and from that to one of rage.

In seconds, his body seemed to enlarge. His muscles began puffing up, and his skin slowly started to reform as well.

From the cracks he was hearing, it sounded rather painful. muscles got bigger, as well as everything else. He went from being a little over six feet tall to being nine feet tall.

His eyes now whited out and his face seemed to be stuck in a permanent scowl.

Holding out his enlarged hand, Extended claws came from them. "I underestimated you. Apologies. I hope you taste just as good as you fight."

He speed seemed to have increased, though only by a little.

It was fast enough however. As he barreled into the bull like creature, he clawed at one of its eyes, doing noticeably more damage, cutting four claw marks across its face.

Ariel seemed to change as well, though not visibly. She seemed to disappear from vision, slashing through the skin and head of the beast, cutting a horn off.

Blue blood leaked from the horn area, and covered the creatures face.

She turned around and gave an almost detached look to the creature.

Nero Then rushed in, crashing into the beast.

"Did you think you could take your attention off of me?" he teared a gash across the beast that did little damage, and was promptly slammed into the floor.

But he got up. It didn't seem to affect him at all.

"That all you got?" He grabbed its head as he turned to Jairo in a state of pure delight. "You seeing this?"

Jairo just looked on in shock.

Harken touched the ground, And somehow a plant that was once just a regular piece of moss, grew into a plant that quickly grew a spike. He did this a few more times, before pointing at the monster, and in the blink of an eyes spikes were launched from them, cruising the through the air at blinding speed before embedding themselves in its back.

It quickly tried to turn, yanking its head up. But Nero held onto its remaining horn with an ecstatic grin. Still pulling his attention away from Harken. "You're not getting rid of me!!"

It tried to respond, yet its legs were being slashed at, causing it to momentarily collapse. Jairo looked around to see Ariel, but failed. He couldn't track her now. She hit maximum momentum.

He could barley even see her now, only a blur a gray, and gash marks of blue colored blood falling from the creatures wounds that kept appearing behind its legs, on its underbelly.

What kind of monsters were the people he was training with?
