So, yeah, I'm not dropping this. I've just been having a pretty bad few days, nothing serious, just had a massive headache and a surprisingly painful injury on my finger that didn't heal enough for me to be able to type until yesterday. I was clipping my nails and one of them did that thing where it went from strait to shooting down and ripping out(It was bleeding and everything). I know it sounds like a coup-out, but it's all I got for an excuse.
Moving on, NO, I am not dropping this. There's 400+ of you guys here who, for some reason, want to see this fic continue. So I'll keep going until I either can't continue with the ideas anymore, or find a good spot to end it, probably to make a new novel or something. For this one, the Gacha seems to really want to make him an overpowered—hyper adaptive—melee fighter...that doesn't have ANY MAGIC AT ALL!!!
I mean seriously, every time I've rolled the Gacha in order to get something for Isaac, it's always been something to make him stronger in melee or something to make him learn things faster. Never something to give him magic, the only thing that has any kind of magic in it is the [Chikage]...but I don't think anyone is dumb enough to think they can withstand knowledge from Outer Gods. [Holy Flame] and [Create Water] don't count because, unless he has magic(which he doesn't), all abilities that don't explicitly state the usage of a separate energy will instead use his stamina or life force. Both of which are in abundance with Isaac, given all of his traits like [One-Eyed Ghoul] and [Energy Heart].
Where was I?...Right, questions!
For the Fallout world: Would You like to see some supernatural elements in the world? There's already weird stuff in the world, but it's not really addressed at all, like the cults and how radiation/F.E.V. do stuff to people that logically shouldn't be able to occur. I already started with Jacobs Town, but I still haven't decided on how far to take the degree of mutation and the power of them. So, here are the options for these.
> For the Infamous Second Son world: I have a few ideas for how Augustine's soldiers get their concrete powers. Here's the options for that.
1: Make them half conduits that use injections from Augustine to become pseudo Concrete Conduits!
2: Make them normal people using exosuits that let them use Augustine's Concrete powers!
3: A mix of both/other (If you have an idea for what I should do or how I should mix them, let me know!)
> More supernatural stuff in Fallout Universe?
1: Yes! I'd like for the supernatural stuff in the Fallout Universe to have more of a presence in the story! (Leave what you think I should add as supernatural stuff if you want to see something specific)
2: No! The supernatural stuff in the Fallout Universe should be left in the background like it is in the games! (Tell me why you think I shouldn't, I'd love to know why)
3: Other (Tell me your ideas for what I should add or how I should add them)
> How far should the degree of mutations and the power of them be?
1: They should all be rather powerful, it makes things more interesting!
2: They should all be rather weak, only a small amount of mutations should be powerful!
3: It should be a mix of both, some powerful and other weak, that's just how life is!
That's it for now, I'll post Chapter 12 in a few days, I just need to finish adding details and edit it before I can post it. Also, I think I addressed everything, but I probably haven't...Ah, almost forgot! Some people might be wondering why I'm making everything less depressing than they used to be in the Fallout Universe, or maybe no one noticed, but I'll address that now.
I just like happy endings, plain and simple. Lately, it feels like every story I pick up leans toward something dark or depressing, or has a main character who acts more like a villain than a hero. A lot of these stories are Chinese translations, and while I can enjoy a villainous protagonist every now and then, it gets tiring when almost every story I find goes that way. Sometimes the motivations behind these characters are hard for me to connect with, maybe because something gets lost in translation or because the cultural context is different from what I'm used to. I don't mean to sound dismissive of those stories or where they come from, I just wish I could find more stories where the main character is someone I actually want to root for, or at least stories that end on a hopeful note. Maybe I just haven't come across the right translation yet. Anyway, that's just where my head's at after all this reading.
I won't make everything sunshine and rainbows, that's just not realistic. But I won't make everything uber depressing, there will be times when Isaac can't save everyone, where Isaac doesn't make it in time, or where Isaac has to make hard choices. I'll be able to give most events a happier end, since Isaac is a lot stronger than almost everyone in that world, but I won't always do that, there has to be some twists and places for character growth.
I'm sorry if you don't like that, but that's how I'm going to be writing my story.
