As soon as Peter went outside, he figured out he was surrounded by a clowder of large demon cats. The cats are black in colour with red eyes and claws and they are about five feet tall "Wow! Demon cats. I haven't seen these guys since my second mage mission in the mountains of Timboku. The Kingdom sure has been deprived of its peace and its attachments to the light realm." Peter said and took a deep breath. "I don't have time to fight these beasts myself. It's a waste of magic." he said nonchalantly.
He put his fingers in his mouth and made a whistling sound. Immediately, a flying bear rushed from the skies to the ground. The bear has four wings, four tails and an orange gempp on its forehead. His wings were so huge that the wind coming from the bear's wings blew the demon cats away. "Long time no see, Dodo" Peter said as he patted the bear on his head. Dodo laid on the ground in excitement "well, it's been a long time indeed" said Dodo. "How long has it been? four years?" asked Peter "four years and two months" Dodo replied. "You're quite precise" Peter replied. "A lot has happened since you last summoned me, who is everywhere giving out dark energy and why is it desolate? Where are we even?" asked the curious Dodo.
Peter explained everything to Dodo; the banquet, the raid of Rrond, the killing of a few people, the vision, everything. "Oh so, you want me to help you find the mages you want to embark on this journey with?" asked Dodo. "Yes, you know I'm an elemental mage. I know a little bit of sensitivity magic but it's limited. You know you can do better. So, I beg you, help me out" Peter begged. "Okay okay, stop begging, it's weird" said Dodo acting disgusted. Dodo closed his eyes and sat down with his wings covering his lower body. His body began to glow with a blue light moving all around him. After one minute or so, Dodo forcefully opened his eyes and his breathing pace increased. Peter can even see his heart beating from where he is. Peter rushed towards Dodo "what's wrong, Dodo?" asked Peter as he gently touched his head. "I cannot track anyone here" said the exhausted Dodo. "Why? You're like the best tracker in the Kingdom." asked Peter feeling disappointed. "This place is filled with an excessive amount of dark energy. The dark energy hinders my sense of sensitivity. It blocks every path. Sorry you have to do it without my sensitivity magic." said Dodo.
"Yeah, I know! There's a man on the outskirts of the Pru village named Murem." said Dodo. "Yes! why didn't I think of that? I've gone to that place for a mission once though. He's going to help me with a map which can lead me everywhere in the kingdom." said Peter excitedly. "Well, we gotta go" shouted Dodo and immediately, Peter used his air magic and lifted himself to Dodo's back. "Just like old times, huh?" asked Dodo excitedly. "Just like old times." Peter said and smiled and then, they flew away. "The kingdom is really the opposite of what it used to look like." said Peter. They saw everything enclosed in the red sun and the locusts attacking the people. "I rather live up here in the air, forever, than live down here" said Dodo.
After a few moments of flying, Peter looked down "Oh land here, I can see the village." said Peter. "Are you sure it's this one?" asked Dodo. "Of course I'm sure, I remember from my second mage mission. It doesn't look like much now." said Peter and they landed at the front gate of the village. Peter alighted from Dodo and they walked together towards the village gate. As they got closer to the village gate, the guards stopped them. "Who are you and who are you looking for?" asked one of the guards. Peter whirled his staff and a card appeared in the presence of the guards. The card was big and had a fire-like aura. "Well, my name is Peter Alexander. I'm one of the archmages who serve at the palace. I'm looking for Murem. I need his help." said Peter. "Alright archmage, I'm sorry but no magical animals are allowed in the village." said one of the guards. "But he is harmless." Peter tried to convince them. "Sorry, village rules." said one of the guards. Peter tried everything he can to make Dodo come with him. He almost fought with them until Dodo pat him at the back, "don't worry, no need to fight them. I will go, you know how to reach me if you need me." he said and flew away. Peter got inside the village.
Peter walked and saw a lot of bad things he never thought the kingdom will show him. "Children fighting dogs for food? I have never seen this before." said Peter. He secretly pointed his fingers at them and a lot of food appeared in front of them. They were surprised, they looked around but couldn't find the person who made it possible for an enormous amount of food to appear before them. They happily showed their parents and they smiled at it and ate amicably. Peter got an old house which has a sign board which wrote "Don't come any closer". "HAHAHA! Classic Murem" said Peter.
He knocked at the door. but the door was opened. He quietly opened the door and all the torches in the house were enkindled on their own and at the end of the torch trail, Murem sat on a mat with a table in front of him. He was putting on an old, torn, black robe with grey beards covering his jaw to his upper stomach with his long white hair covering his entire head to his lower back. "Greetings Murem. I am...." said Peter politely. "I know why you're here. You're looking for a guide to the kingdom, perhaps, a map" Murem interrupted. "That's correct. Please help me out." Peter begged. "Well, you should know that nothing is free" said Murem. "Of course" Peter said, snapped his fingers and a red gem appeared on the table. "That is the gem of Eus, the second rarest of it's kind." said Peter.
Murem picked it up and felt the power "you never seize to amaze me, young archmage. Of course I'll help you" Murem said and threw the stone in a bag at the edge of the room. He took a small stick from his table and threw it at Peter. Peter caught it "Why did you throw this stick at me" asked Peter. "What stick?" asked Murem surprisingly. "This one" Peter said angrily and looked closer and found out that the stick had turned to a map with a green dot at a particular place. "Yes! That is the map of Eldervale. That green dot represents you. Every place is labelled on that map. Just be careful. It's dangerous out there" said Murem. "Thank you very much Murem. I owe you one." Peter said and stormed out of the house. "Oh! I love that kid!" said Murem and laughed.
