Over his 200 years of life, much magic countered Ray's blood magic, some with extreme heat and some with just simply having stronger magic. In terms of pure magic power, Ray never could have been compared to the likes of Katarina or Jade.
They were the ones whom he liked to call the chosen ones, and he was just a man who went against the fate of the world.
Despite all of his enemies, one specific magic countered him the most.
"Fucking vampires."
Two men sat on a big rock, waiting for him; their pale skin and the light on their sharp teeth were all that Ray needed to know his enemies.
Since his arrival, he had kept an eye on the Dracula family bloodline; the one on the right was a noble Dracula in their family and the most elite one among their young people, and the other one was his butler.
"Never thought I would see you in here, Vice General Ray, the blood angel." He bowed to him on the higher ground: "My name is Victor Dracula, at your disposal."
"Don't fool around. Did the King of Silence send you?" Even if Alice's presence in the dungeon was pure coincidence, nothing could defy two vampires in there too.
"Oh my, you speak of big names. We just received a prophecy from him: Blood Angel will slaughter your whole family." He laughed a little: "I never believed that. How can a small insect like you do such a feat?"
In his previous life, Ray had slaughtered their whole bloodline down to the last person, but at that time he was already at level 7, higher than most of them.
"Let me guess, in each dungeon you sent someone to deal with me."
He jumped down from the rock; with short black hair and red eyes, he resembled the rest of his family. "And the fact that you know this much means?"
Ray smirked at his face: "I want to kill your whole family once more. You have a son, right? When he grows up, he will be at the top of your family, but when my blade tears him into pieces, he will be asking for forgiveness like a little child."
Victor charged at him blindly; Ray easily dodged him, but a bullet from the upper ground hit his shoulder. His armor took most of the damage, but still some blood came out of the wound.
The drops of blood came out of his wound, flying in the air toward Victor. With his mouth open, they entered his body.
Another gunshot came; however, this time, Ray's wings were wide open, taking him to the other man. Before he could reach his target, Victor stood in his path with a whiplash in one hand and a sword in the other one.
"You know, against a blood user, your style of fighting is rather weak; all you want is to make me bleed until I turn into your puppet, right?"
Ashbringer appeared in his hand in the shape of two swords; with no hesitation, he charged toward the butler, and a whiplash came from his right. His sword blocked most of the impact, followed by another bullet.
Ray took the bullet head-on again, but this time, no blood came out from the open wound.
"Master, I'm ready."
Victor stepped back and took out his two pieces of equipment at the same time.
"Center of the world."
With the activation of Victor's equipment, Ray could feel his blood being pulled toward him, and as he was resisting the urge of his blood, the butler pushed a button on his weapon.
His wounds both exploded on the spot. His blood splashed in the air and pulled into Victor's body.
"Master, don't consume his blood." The dark blood in the air gave him the warning, but it was too late.
Ray smiled despite the intense pain in his body; a complete dark crystal had been infused with his blood. The pain was devastating; however, he could turn his weakness into an advantage.
As Victor absorbed his blood, his figure got twisted in the air from the sudden rush of pain. Infusing it with his own blood had increased hell's flames' pain by many times.
The butler loaded his weapon again; with Ray being injured in the air, his bullets could finish the job easily.
"Not so fast." Ray charged toward him this time with no one to block his way. Blood Skull couldn't be used in the air, so all that Ray had to do was to summon it in his own body. Using an unimportant organ for seconds helped him heal from his injuries.
Before the butler could get ready again, Ray's blades were trying to cut his throat.
"Master, I will keep him occupied and kill both of us together." He yelled as he used his weapon to block Ray's strikes from each side.
To his surprise, his master couldn't look more insane, and Ray's movements grew sharper and sharper as the pain left his body.
Ray's right hand struck from above, yet before it could land, his other hand connected the two swords, turning them into a scythe. His opponent wanted to run; however, with the new increased range, his blade found its way into his throat. Followed by another strike to his heart, the butler's corpse fell on the ground.
"You vampires are so hard to kill, both your bodies and your hearts." Ray sighed; the pain had already faded away, which meant that his main problem was going to be free in seconds.
"I should run for now." With no care about the battlefield, he went into one of the tunnels with his wings increasing his speed.
"So persistent." Victor's aura followed him with no rest.
As he ran, his mind worked on how to deal with Victor. "He had two pieces of equipment and one more ability than me; his stats should be way more than mine too. What should I do?"
The chain of his thoughts broke as he saw a black bat flying to get him.
"He is already transforming; that takes too much energy to sustain. Well, I should just play with him for now."
Ray closed his eyes and screamed the words in the small tunnels: "How do you feel about your butler?"
"Not much."
"After I'm finished, you will face the same result as him."
Their distance didn't let him see him, but he had long come out of his territory for the Cardinals.
As they got closer to the place that Ray wanted to go, his intention became clear for Victor: "He wants to start a civil war between me and that stupid woman."
