"Jiraiya-sensei? What are you doing here?"
Sarutobi Shinnosuke looked at Jiraiya, who was covering Naraku's mouth, and then at the telescope set up nearby. He was completely baffled. What was going on?
Judging by the direction of the telescope… was it…? Had Jiraiya-sensei come all the way to the Land of Hot Water to peep?
And hadn't he just been caught by little Naraku?
"Nothing, nothing. I just think this little girl is very pleasing to the eye, hahaha. Shinnosuke, what are you doing in the Land of Hot Water? I heard you were fighting with the Hidden Cloud Village."
Jiraiya quickly let go of Naraku and promptly changed the subject.
Sarutobi Shinnosuke could tell from Jiraiya's reaction that he was right, but it didn't concern him. There was no need to expose someone's secret, was there?
Just then, Uchiha Itachi ran up from the bottom of the mountain. When he saw this strange scene, a thousand mythical beasts stampeded through his mind.
"No way? Probably not, right? Could it be that someone saw my wife naked?"
But judging by Naraku's composure, she shouldn't have been taken advantage of.
That's good…
"Er… Father has transferred me back from the battlefield, and I've become a Jonin Instructor. These three are my lovely students."
Sarutobi Shinnosuke immediately smiled when he mentioned his lovely students, and then pointed at Uchiha Itachi:
"This is Uchiha Itachi. The girl with you is Uchiha Naraku. Eh? Where's Senju Chakan?"
Sarutobi Shinnosuke looked around, but couldn't find Chakan. He turned back and asked Itachi:
"Itachi, didn't Senju Chakan come out with you?"
Hearing Shinnosuke's words, Jiraiya raised an eyebrow in surprise. It wasn't the era of the Ninja War, so students shouldn't be graduating early.
But these two children were at most ten years old. To graduate from the Ninja Academy at that age…
The teacher had specifically called Shinnosuke back, so it seemed these two children were geniuses from the Uchiha clan.
"Jonin Instructor Shinnosuke, we came to change together, but Chakan was slower, and I was worried… Teacher, so I ran out ahead."
Uchiha Itachi secretly glanced at Naraku, and seeing that she hadn't noticed anything, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hahaha, so that's how it is. Jiraiya, it's rare to meet in a foreign land. It's still early, so how about we relax in the hot springs before we drink?"
Sarutobi Shinnosuke actually hadn't finished bathing himself, but since he'd run into Jiraiya, he might as well go back together.
Jiraiya thought about it; continuing to spy probably wouldn't be possible now. He might as well go soak in the hot springs and relax.
So he agreed without hesitation.
Just like that, the Toad summoned by Jiraiya swallowed the telescope in one gulp, then vanished in a puff of white smoke.
The four of them strolled back to the front of the hot spring inn.
However, what puzzled Sarutobi Shinnosuke was that even though they were at the door, he still hadn't seen Senju Chakan.
Logically, even if Chakan was slow, he should have come out by now, right?
"Shinnosuke? It seems like we haven't seen your student all along the way?"
Jiraiya also noticed the problem. He looked around, but there wasn't a single child in sight among the bustling crowd.
"Teacher, I'll go in and take a look!"
After more than a month of interacting with Senju Chakan, Itachi had developed some feelings for them.
Seeing Senju Chakan disappear, and knowing it was because he had run off first, bothered Itachi.
He quickly ran to the men's bathhouse to check.
However, after a few dozen seconds, Uchiha Itachi rushed back, shaking his head at everyone. It seemed Chakan really had disappeared.
Could they have run off in different directions?
Uchiha Itachi quickly bit his finger and formed hand seals:
"Summoning Technique!"
As a black summoning array appeared on the ground, five black crows materialized on the street.
They immediately flew towards the sky.
"What's this? Shisui's Summoning Beast? What do you think? Is Chakan nearby?"
Sarutobi Shinnosuke asked Itachi anxiously.
"No, Teacher. It doesn't seem like Chakan is nearby."
Hearing this, Shinnosuke quickly ran into the shop and asked the staff. He learned that the boy had indeed left from there.
But he hadn't walked out on his own. He'd been carried out by a man. The staff member thought the child was sick and didn't ask further questions.
Finally, Shinnosuke found out that the man had gone north.
When Shinnosuke returned, he told everyone the basic situation.
Everyone finally understood; Senju Chakan had been kidnapped.
Sarutobi Shinnosuke bit his finger and formed hand seals:
"Summoning Technique, come forth, Sarurei!"
After a puff of smoke, a female monkey, about 1.78 meters tall and thin, wearing a black vest, appeared on the bustling street.
"Please, Sarurei! Help me find my disciple, Chakan. He's been kidnapped."
Naraku Uchiha raised an eyebrow in surprise. When she was watching Naruto, she thought Sarutobi Hiruzen's Summoning Beast was incredibly powerful, able to push the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox back with ease after transforming into a staff.
But unfortunately, as Hiruzen's son, Sarutobi Asuma didn't seem to know how to use the Summoning Technique at all.
It wasn't until Boruto that Sarutobi Konohamaru finally summoned a Sarurei-type Summoning Beast.
Now, watching the Sarurei that Shinnosuke had summoned, Naraku finally understood. So, Hiruzen had passed all of his signature skills to his eldest son, huh?
"Alright, Shinnosuke, I'll go search the east. You figure out the rest."
After saying that, Sarurei swiftly dashed towards the east.
"Teacher Jiraiya, I'll leave the west to you."
Shinnosuke quickly mobilized everyone he could.
After Jiraiya got the photo of Senju Chakan, he waved and left as well.
Finally, Sarutobi Shinnosuke, after much deliberation, chose to let the strongest Uchiha Naraku go alone to the south, where the chances were lowest, while he and Itachi went north to search.
They had to find Chakan.
Sarutobi Shinnosuke clenched his fists tightly.
