Sebastian showed up on his shoulder and then looked at the horrible thing and just sighed hopelessly. "Well, this is exactly the kind of nightmare fuel I expected."
"Any chance we can just politely ask it to move?"
The beast roared, which was a clear answer to Sebastian's question. Rick's chest hurt from the sound, and his teeth rattled. "F-Fuck...! It attacked through my heart just with a sound as ugly as that...!"
The beast charged right away, but then Carmilla faced the charge head-on. As she got ready, sword raised in a defensive stance, her Guardian's Resolve reached its highest level.
The beast's huge claw hit her sword, and the shockwave it made cracked the stone floor under her feet, but Carmilla stayed strong because her Unbreakable Bond with Rick gave her the strength to take hits that would have killed a normal warrior.
Rick yelled, "Carmilla's got aggro!" as he moved to the side of the creature. "Natasha, try to attack it from a clear distance!"
