Chapter 172 - Chapter 172: Springy and Elastic

Chapter 172: Springy and Elastic

"Is this... a lightning tribulation?" Xiao Yan murmured, his sharp gaze fixed on the ominous black clouds gathering above, their silver lightning bolts flickering ominously. He instinctively gathered a surge of Dou Qi in his palm, ready to act at a moment's notice.

"Do not interfere," came the firm voice of the First Medusa, her expression grave as she shook her head. "This tribulation is something every Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python must face in its lifetime. Only by enduring this trial can its bloodline evolve into true purity."

Despite her calm tone, there was a flicker of unease in her eyes, betraying her worry.

Xiao Yan remained silent, his focus locked on the churning storm clouds. His fingers tightened as he prepared himself. If anything goes wrong, I'll step in immediately, he thought.

"I'm here for a wife, not a pet beast," he muttered under his breath. If Medusa dies, all my efforts will have been for nothing.

Before he could dwell further, a deafening roar of thunder shattered the silence. In an instant, a massive silver lightning bolt shot down from the clouds, illuminating the seven colored space in a blinding light.

The bolt struck the cocoon directly, its force so immense that Xiao Yan flinched, momentarily blinded by the brilliance. When his vision cleared, the ominous clouds had already dissipated, leaving the sky calm and serene once more.

"What just happened?" Xiao Yan asked, his tone laced with confusion as he looked at the cocoon. The First Medusa, however, let out a relieved sigh.

"It's done," she said softly.

As if to confirm her words, a faint crack appeared on the surface of the cocoon. More fissures followed, spreading rapidly until the entire shell shattered with a resounding crash. The fragments scattered across the ground, revealing layers upon layers of delicate snake skins beneath them.

"My wife... Where's my wife?!" Xiao Yan rushed forward, frantically scanning the scene, but all he found were broken shards and molted scales.

"Hey, old lady, did you lie to me?" Xiao Yan spun around, glaring at the First Medusa.

The elder snorted, her expression unamused.

"This is my domain. Aren't you afraid I'll teach you some manners for addressing me like that?"

"I don't care whose domain it is. Where's my girl?!" Xiao Yan retorted heatedly. Just then, a faint rustling sound came from the pile of debris.

Before he could react, a flash of seven colored light streaked toward him like lightning. Xiao Yan's expression shifted to one of amusement as he moved faster than the streak, effortlessly catching it in his hand.

The moment he opened his palm, a slippery sensation greeted him, revealing the creature in his grasp: a tiny, slender snake no longer than two centimeters.

Its entire body shimmered with iridescent scales, and its bewitching purple eyes exuded an aura of elegance and nobility, despite its minuscule form. A faint, pleasant fragrance wafted from its body.

"Huh? She's turned into a little snake?" Xiao Yan muttered, his tone tinged with regret. But when he noticed the curious, almost childlike look in the snake's violet eyes, his lips curled into a smile.

"This little one is actually kind of cute."

Xiao Yan gently tapped its tiny head with his finger. The little snake blinked, then suddenly nuzzled against the finger wearing his storage ring as if it were asking for something.

"Ah, I see what you want," Xiao Yan chuckled knowingly. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned a large purple crystal orb, cracking it open with ease.

Inside, a rich, glossy liquid trickled out the Purple Crystal Winged Lion King's milk essence. He carefully collected it in a jade vial before letting a few drops fall near the little snake's mouth.

The snake's eyes lit up with excitement. It eagerly lapped up the drops, its small body wriggling contentedly before showing signs of drowsiness.

"You're not sleeping just yet," the First Medusa interrupted, a sly smile playing on her lips. She waved her hand, sending a seven colored beam of light into the little snake's body.

Immediately, the tiny creature began to glow, its radiant form growing larger. Within moments, the shimmering light dispersed, revealing a breathtaking figure cradled in Xiao Yan's arms.

Her waist length black hair cascaded over an exquisitely proportioned body, utterly devoid of clothing. The startlingly intimate sensation in Xiao Yan's hands made him instinctively squeeze slightly.

"So... springy!" Xiao Yan whispered, his eyes wide with amazement as he stared at the stunning beauty before him.

The woman, none other than Medusa, slowly opened her eyes, her initial confusion quickly replaced by realization. She glanced downward, noticing Xiao Yan's intense gaze and where his hands were placed.

A flush of crimson spread across her cheeks as icy rage filled her slitted purple eyes.

"How dare you!" she hissed, her killing intent flaring. She raised a delicate hand to strike him, but her strength, still weak from her transformation, resulted in a feeble slap that barely made a sound.

The light impact caused her to lose her balance, sending her tumbling into Xiao Yan's arms.

Her perfect, radiant body pressed against his chest, the sensation so overwhelming that Xiao Yan's self control nearly crumbled. Instinctively, his hands moved again, drawing another furious glare from Medusa.

"You shameless scoundrel! I'll kill you!" she shouted, her voice a mix of fury and embarrassment.

"You want to murder your own husband?" Xiao Yan teased, grinning as he lightly pinched her once more, eliciting another murderous glare.

Just as Medusa's killing intent reached its peak, a seven colored light enveloped her body, forming an elegant, radiant gown that concealed her figure. The light pulled her out of Xiao Yan's grasp, returning her to a safe distance.

"You're incorrigible," the First Medusa chided, shooting Xiao Yan a sharp look. "Leave now. I need to have a word with my descendant."

"Huh? You're kicking me out after using me?" Xiao Yan asked, dumbfounded.

"Relax. Your business will be taken care of," the elder replied, a knowing smile flickering across her face. With a dismissive wave of her hand, Xiao Yan found himself abruptly ejected from the space.
