Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Wu Tan City

Chapter 82: Wu Tan City

Night fell over Holy Pill City, shrouding it in silence except for the lively hustle and bustle within the renowned Tianxiang Pavilion.

At the head of the table sat an elder from the Pill Tower, a distinguished eight rank alchemist, raising his cup with a broad smile.

"Everyone, let us toast to the departure of the Xiao Clan's Saint Son, Xiao Yan. At last, that little tyrant has left our Pill Tower!"

"To his departure!" echoed the other elders, their faces lit with cheer.

"With that little tyrant gone, his protégé students won't have his shadow to protect them anymore. These brats, emboldened by Xiao Yan's presence, have grown too arrogant. Now, we can finally deal with them properly."

"Indeed," added another elder with a sinister grin. "These kids dared to talk back to me. I'll ensure their lives are miserable for the next six months!"

"Do as you like with the others," one elder said cautiously, "but don't provoke those two girls. If the little tyrant returns and finds out, we'll all be in trouble."

"Agreed," another elder nodded. "Besides, they're under the frequent guidance of Yao Zun zhe and President Xuan Yi. With their exceptional talent, we wouldn't be able to interfere even if we wanted to."

As the elders laughed and plotted, another voice interjected a peculiar, sinister tone.

"Do as you please, but leave that chubby one, Shi Hao, to me!"

The speaker, Elder Li, was grinning as he raised his cup.

"I've heard the boy was trained by a mere six rank alchemist. This time, I'll drag that teacher here and show them why big intestines stink!"

His words elicited a mix of sympathy and laughter from the other elders.

"Elder Li, you truly embody the spirit of teaching. A true role model for the Pill Tower!" an elder said with mock admiration.

"Guiding others takes dedication," Elder Li replied smugly, taking a sip from his cup.

A Vast Journey to the Northwest

The Dou Qi Continent was unimaginably vast, its expanse far surpassing the Earth Xiao Yan remembered from his previous life.

Traveling from Central Plains to the Northwest Continent, even with the speed of two Half Saints, took a full day. Xiao Yan calculated the distance as exceeding one million kilometers, a staggering figure.

Though he wasn't entirely sure whether the Dou Qi Continent was part of a larger planet or a single massive landmass, he estimated its diameter to range between several million and tens of millions of kilometers a size beyond comprehension.

This immense size naturally gave rise to a massive population, and it was this population base that supported the flourishing of Dou Qi cultivation. Countless strong individuals emerged, each with abilities that defied the logic of his previous life, creating endless legends and stories.

The Beast Sovereign of the Magic Beast Mountain Range

The Magic Beast Mountain Range, a vast expanse stretching for tens of thousands of miles, was marked as a thin black line on the maps of the Northwest Continent. Nearby were ten kingdoms of varying sizes, along with numerous sects and clans built into the mountains.

This mountain range not only provided an abundant supply of magical beasts and herbs to the surrounding regions but was also home to many powerful creatures. Among them, the Silent Spirit Silver Frog was a kingpin of the area.

A seventh rank magical beast, it stood at the pinnacle of the Magic Beast Mountain Range. Except for a few other seventh rank beasts and the sovereign of the mountain range, no creature or human dared challenge its dominance.

Today, the Silent Spirit Silver Frog basked lazily in its chilly pond, enjoying its frosty habitat, when a spatial rift abruptly opened above its head. The sudden disturbance made its silver scaled skin prickle with unease.

Through the rift stepped a black clad youth, his aura betraying the strength of a mere Dou Huang (Battle Emperor).

"A Dou Huang?" The Silver Frog's vertical pupils narrowed in confusion.

But before it could react, two elderly figures emerged from the rift. The instant the Silver Frog laid eyes on them, it dived into the depths of its pond with a splash. Though it couldn't determine their exact strength, their mere presence sent a chilling fear down its spine.

"Elder Wu, bring it out," Xiao Yan said calmly.

"Yes, Young Master." Elder Wu raised a hand, and with a simple gesture, the entire pond water, fish, and the Silver Frog was levitated into the air, forming a massive sphere of shimmering liquid.

The Silver Frog, now suspended within, frantically swam in circles.

With another flick of Elder Wu's finger, the water separated, sending the Silver Frog flailing onto dry land.

"Mercy, great lords, mercy!" the Silver Frog croaked in fluent human speech.

"Can you take human form?" Xiao Yan asked, glancing at it.

"Yes, yes, of course!" The frog's body twisted and contorted until it took on the appearance of a short, silver scaled old man with patches of amphibian like features.

Xiao Yan unrolled a map and laid it before the trembling creature.

"This is a map of the Northwest Continent. Tell me where in the Magic Beast Mountain Range are we?"

The Silver Frog peered at the map with its bulbous eyes and pointed a webbed finger.

"Here! This is the southwestern region of the mountain range."

"Thank you," Xiao Yan said, rolling up the map. Without another word, he and his companions stepped into the next spatial rift, vanishing in an instant.

Wu Tan City

Nestled at the eastern edge of the Magic Beast Mountain Range, Wu Tan City thrived as a hub for mercenaries and herb gatherers, its economy bolstered by the resources of the nearby mountains.

Though considered a large city by the standards of the Jia Ma Empire, it was ranked near the bottom of the list. The city's strongest combatant was merely a Da Dou Shi (Battle Master).

This changed one fateful day when a young Dou Huang descended from the sky.

Hovering above the city, Xiao Yan gazed down at the familiar streets below, a nostalgic smile spreading across his face.

"Finally, I've found it."
