Chapter 21 - Abraxan

Soren stepped into Selene's dormitory, the door clicking shut behind him.

His cheeks were still a little warm.

Yesterday's… incident… had left him red-faced and confused until Penny, Cassie, and Jacqueline sat him down for a full, unavoidable "male–female biology" explanation.

Only after an hour of awkward, relentless tutoring did they finally release him.

So today, walking into Selene's room again, without knocking felt different. But since he had already seen her nude, there is nothing to hide.

Selene stood near the sofa this time, fully dressed in her prefect robes.

She looked over her shoulder and smiled lightly.

"Good. You came quickly." She patted the seat beside her. "Sit."

Soren walked over and sat next to her, still a little tense from anticipation.

Selene folded her arms and leaned closer.

"So," she began, "what happened after you left with the map? Tell me everything."

Soren inhaled slowly.

He could feel the weight of last night's journey, the puzzles, the magic, the dragon… and Elara's voice in every letter.

He met Selene's eyes and began explaining:

The hidden locations. The wizarding puzzles. How each clue transported them farther. The Standing Stones. The Dragon Mirror. The lockets. The magical hide-and-seek puzzle. The final forest. And the newborn dragon Elara had chosen for him.

Selene listened without interrupting, her green eyes sharp with attention, her fingers tapping softly against her knee.

Only when Soren finished did she finally exhale.

"…A young dragon," she whispered. "Your sister left you a dragon."

Soren nodded slowly.

Selene leaned back, astonished.

"You realise, Soren… this changes everything."

Her voice was soft but serious.

Soren looked down at his hands.

"I know."

Selene reached out instinctively, and hugged him again, causing his face to enter in her bosom.

From there, he feels that again, she didn't wear anything inside which Penny, Cassie and Jacqueline had told him.

And due to this, he feels the shape and comfort of her breast. Selene also felt it, but she didn't react to it. Instead she feels, that's was perfect.

And it was right for Soren to accept it, she even started thinking of the future, when Soren grows up. She will finally open herself for him.

"You did well," she said. "And Elara clearly believed only you could follow her path. These puzzles were meant for you."

Soren said nothing.

But Selene could see the determination flicker in his eyes.

"And your little dragon…" A small smile tugged at her lips. But she also blushed mentioning it, because the little dragon also represents his weapon.

"Keep it hidden. And keep it safe. If anyone else discovers it, especially professors like Snape… things could turn very dangerous."

Soren nodded again.

Selene withdrew her hand but her eyes stayed steady on him.

"Good," she repeated softly.

Then she straightened her prefect badge and added, "One more thing, Hagrid sent for you. He's waiting in the courtyard."

Soren blinked. "Hagrid? Why would he call me?"

A sudden jolt of worry shot through him.

Had Hagrid somehow learned about the dragon? Has anyone seen it? Had the creature caused trouble?

Soren hadn't told anyone except Selene… and Penny, Cassie, and Jacqueline. Surely none of them would say a word.

Selene saw the panic forming in his eyes and immediately raised a hand.

"Stop." Her tone was calm, grounding.

"Don't jump to conclusions. Hagrid could be calling you for a dozen different reasons—none of them related to dragons."

Soren exhaled slowly.

Selene continued, "Just go and meet him. Ask first, worry later. If he knows something… you'll realise the moment he opens his mouth."

Her expression softened, just a little.

"And remember—no matter what happens, handle it calmly. You are not alone in this."

Soren nodded, finally settling.

"Alright. I'll go now."

Selene stepped back, giving him space to leave.

"Good. And Soren—" He paused at the door. Selene then hugged him again, and gave a kiss on his cheek.

"Stay sharp. Strange things are moving around you, and take care."

Soren nodded again, more firmly this time.

Then he turned and headed out of Selene Avery's dormitory, straight toward the courtyard.

---

The Courtyard was busy as always.

Groups of students stood around chatting:

A pair of Ravenclaws whispered, "I heard someone saw frost on the Fourth Floor again, the Cursed Vaults must be real."

Two Hufflepuffs argued, "No, no, the Vaults are just stories! …Right?"

A Gryffindor muttered to his friend, "My dad said Aurors investigated Hogwarts years ago. They never found anything. So why is ice showing up now?"

Another group talked excitedly, "Someone said Snape was patrolling late last night near a locked room… Maybe he knows something!"

Soren ignored most of it.

His eyes found Hagrid standing near the fountain, waving at him with a big smile.

Soren walked up, already fearing one particular word.

"Hagrid, for what reason did you call me?" he asked, half-bracing himself, half-terrified the half-giant might mention the dragon.

Hagrid laughed loudly. "Remember what I told yeh, whenever magical beast problems come up, I know exactly who teh look for."

Soren relaxed a little. Hearing that it was not about the Dragon. "So… What problem has appeared?"

Hagrid leaned closer.

"Well, problem ain't the right word… Yeh could call it an assignment. I've got somethin' fer yeh straight from Professor Dumbledore!"

"For both of us. It's a two-person job at least. Requires research… and good handwritin'."

Hagrid scratched his beard, leaning in. "But it's dangerous work if yeh don' know what yer doin'…"

Soren almost laughed internally.

Yesterday he had solved ancient puzzles, faced living statues, and gained a dragon.

Danger? He was getting used to it.

"I'll face any danger," Soren said with confidence.

Hagrid raised an eyebrow. "Are yeh sure yer ready teh handle some difficult creatures, Soren?"

"Yes," Soren said without a hint of hesitation. "Creatures like me. Better than some of my classmates do."

Hagrid beamed. "Tha's true, ain't it? Yeh've got a way with beasts—not many first-years can say the same."

He straightened proudly.

"Well then… listen close."

Soren leaned in.

"It's about the Abraxans," Hagrid said with excitement.

Soren tilted his head. "You want my help with Abraxans?"

"Aye!" Hagrid clapped his hands. "Great, big, powerful winged horses from France. Strong as giants, proud as Hippogriffs, an' stubborn as trolls if yeh don't treat 'em right."

He leaned closer and lowered his voice.

"Professor Dumbledore wants information about Abraxans in Scotland. Somethin' teh do with Beauxbatons."

Soren nodded. "I suppose inter-school relationships are important… What do you need me to do?"

Hagrid scratched his beard. "There's an Abraxan in the Magical Creatures Reserve. Maybe yeh've seen it, eh?"

Soren replied without hesitation, "I haven't just seen it. I know Abraxan better than anyone."

Hagrid smiled proudly. "Then perfect! I just need yeh ter get close ter the Abraxan an' take some notes."

Soren blinked. "What, like homework?"

Hagrid laughed, "Nah, nah! Just simple stuff — what it likes, what makes it angry, how it reacts. That sorta thing."

Then he added, "It'd be a good idea teh bring someone along. Someone smart. Someone with decent handwritin'."

Soren already knew exactly who that meant.

---

A little later…

"Hey, Penny!" Soren called out as he approached his friends. "How'd you like to befriend a giant horse with wings?"

Penny stared at him. "Pardon?"

Soren explained, "I'm doing research on Abraxans for Hagrid. Specifically, how they interact with humans. I could use another pair of eyes… and your penmanship is better than mine."

Penny brightened immediately. "My penmanship is quite good, isn't it? But the only Abraxans I've ever seen were Madame Maxime's…"

"We're going to try to tame this one," Soren said confidently.

Cassie blinked. "How? Abraxans aren't friendly."

Jacqueline folded her arms. "We need a proper plan. Something that will actually work."

Soren thought for a moment.

He already had experience for Niffler, and he has Fairy and the young Welsh Green Dragon.

He knew magical creatures responded to instinct, emotion, and trust.

"We need information first," Soren decided. "Let's visit the Library and research Abraxans. There has to be something about taming or calming them."

Penny nodded. "Books on magical creatures should help. Abraxans are proud, we need to know exactly what they respond to."

Cassie added, "And once we know that, we can figure out how Soren should approach it."

Jacqueline agreed. "Then it's settled. Library first. Then the Reserve."

The four of them headed toward the Library together, ready to learn how to tame one of the most powerful magical horses in the Wizarding World.

---

The four entered the Hogwarts Library, the quiet atmosphere immediately surrounding them. Rows of books stretched endlessly.

Penny led them quickly. "This way. Magical creature references are in the east corner."

Jacqueline followed with her arms crossed. "I hope Abraxans aren't as temperamental as people say."

Cassie whispered, "They are."

Soren didn't say anything. He was already scanning the shelves.

In the Magical Creatures Section

Penny reached for a heavy book titled "Fantastic Beasts: Advanced Equine Edition" and placed it on the table.

"Alright," she said, flipping through. "Let's start here."

They sat down, and Penny began reading aloud.

"Abraxans are a breed of giant winged horses, famous for their remarkable strength and elegance. They prefer clean environments, dislike sudden noises, and respond well to confidence."

Cassie raised an eyebrow. "That sounds like they act like royalty."

Jacqueline pointed at another page. "Listen to this, 'They only accept riders who show bravery and firmness.' So basically, they pick who they respect."

Soren nodded. "Then this should be fine."

Penny kept reading, "They enjoy sweeter food, especially millet sugar cubes and moonberries. But they absolutely hate being approached from behind."

Cassie groaned. "Great. One wrong move and we get kicked into next week."

Soren smirked. "I've handled a Welsh Green dragon, Cassie. I think I can handle a horse."

"More like he handed you, don't lie with us," Cassie poked him and chuckled.

Jacqueline tapped another paragraph with her finger. "Soren, look. 'Creatures with natural magic, like fairies and nifflers, can calm Abraxans when used carefully.' Your fairy and Glimmer might help."

Penny lit up. "That means your magical companions could make the Abraxan trust you faster!"

Soren nodded. "That's good. My Fairy already responds to me well… and Glimmer might distract the horse with something shiny."

Cassie laughed. "That Niffler will steal the whole saddle if you don't watch him."

Soren shrugged. "He listens to me."

Penny made neat notes with her quill. "Okay. So, the plan:

— Bring sweet food.

— Approach confidently from the front.

— Use magical companions if needed.

— Speak calmly.

— And no sudden movements."

Jacqueline closed the book. "Then we're ready."

Soren stood. "Let's go to the Magical Creatures Reserve and meet the Abraxan."
