Chapter 6 - Travel

Shiki-Shima Train, 6:00 AM

Some time had passed since Yukito said goodbye to his parents and boarded the train to school. He spent the remaining time with them before leaving, preparing for his new life. Thanks to his comfortable financial situation, he was able to indulge in some luxuries during the trip.

As the train continued its journey, Yukito relaxed, reading his manga on a travel pillow while sipping coffee from his thermal mug, accompanied by chocolates, in the VIP section.

"Money really does buy happiness," Yukito said, chewing on a chocolate.

The entire trip had been uneventful until that moment. Suddenly, the train stopped. Most of the passengers shifted in their seats, while one young man ended up covered in coffee. As the passengers were already starting to complain, the following announcement came over one of the loudspeakers: "Dear passengers, we regret to inform you that the train's sudden stop was due to an obstruction on the tracks. We will resolve the problem as soon as possible."

"Great," Yukito said as he looked for something to dry himself with.

Calmly and serenely, he got up from his seat and walked down the aisle toward one of the train's restrooms.

Train Restroom

The restroom was small but clean, with well-maintained white and metallic surfaces despite being for public use. The light illuminated the mirror above the sink, revealing how clean it was.

Yukito turned on the tap and bent down to the sink. With paper towels and water, he began to wipe the coffee off his shirt while grumbling. Even so, his mind began to wander, thinking about other things.

"Tenbi... I can't get that name out of my head," he said, repeating the academy's name in his mind. "I'm sure I've heard that name before."

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through him. Yukito dropped the newspaper and clutched his head tightly, gritting his teeth.

A flood of information overwhelmed his mind. Everything appeared suddenly, without any order.

When it was all over, Yukito took a deep breath and looked at himself in the mirror, confused.

--------------------------------------------------------

Back in his seat, Yukito leaned back slightly, holding his head. His complexion had paled a little. Forcing himself to calm down, he closed his eyes, trying to sort out his thoughts.

With an annoyed tone, he thought, "This can't be happening." The new memories flooding his mind were varied, from shopping trips to vacations, but the most abundant were about manga and anime. In one of those manga, there was an academy with a name similar to the one he attended. The manga's name was Maken-Ki, a manga that wasn't anything special, but not terrible either; it was simply your average action and ecchi manga.

"It's not just a coincidence... it's just a coincidence," Yukito repeated to himself, trying to deny the absurd possibility of living in a world based on a manga only read by teenagers.

The murmur of the train car continued, along with the waiting. All that was left was to wait for the train to start moving again.
