Chapter 19 - #18

"So why were the two of you fighting each other on school grounds no less?" the principal asked.

Ray stood up and was about to say something, but a crystal flew out of his pocket.

"That's the Kinotro Crystal. Ray, did you try to steal it? You know that carries far more serious consequences than expulsion from school, right?"

Ray didn't answer, only looked away. A few moments later, knights arrived and took the teenager to a prison cell, while the principal approached Derivan.

"That mark without a doubt, it's a mind-control spell. I know only one person capable of using this spell." The principal placed his hand on Derivan's forehead, deactivating the spell and causing the teenager to lose consciousness. "Take him to the medical ward."

"Yes, sir." The knights picked up Derivan and carried him to the medics.

"I know you're there. How long do you intend to keep hiding?"

"So many years have passed, and you can still detect my presence, Master," Mikado said, revealing himself.

"What are you doing in Kasegi? I thought you were exiled."

"I came to finish what you could not."

The principal narrowed his eyes at his former student. "What do you mean?"

"During our last meeting, I warned you that the Kinotro Crystal needed to be destroyed, or it would bring nothing but trouble. But as I can see, you learned nothing from the last war. I didn't want to dirty my hands I thought he would manage."

"You mean Derivan? You're the one who placed the mind-control spell on him so he would destroy the crystal?"

"Exactly. When I kidnapped him from his hometown of Ozoro on the day he was born, I trained him to prepare him for that task. That's why I placed the spell on him. But I must admit, your stupidity surprised me I didn't think you would let a criminal into the city," Mikado explained, shocking the principal even more.

"What criminal are you talking about?"

"You really don't know? I'm talking about a member of the Black Blood group."

The principal's eyes widened at the mention of that group.

Meanwhile, the king entered the room where Januar was lying.

"What is Your Majesty doing here?" Januar bowed before Maroke.

"I wanted to ask you why you attacked your opponent with the intent to kill."

Januar lowered his head in shame. "I have no idea I'm sorry. I'm terribly ashamed," he admitted.

"Calm down, no one is blaming you. But tell me did anything happen to you before the fight? I have the impression that something changed inside you during it."

"The only thing I remember is that before my fight with Derivan, I met a man wearing glasses. When he took them off, I felt something strange, as if I stopped thinking rationally."

"A man with glasses… could it be him?" the king thought, scratching his head.

"Your Majesty, did something happen?"

"No. Thank you for telling me I must go." The king left the room.

Back at the academy.

"You're saying that a member of the Black Blood group is in Kasegi?" The principal was stunned by what he had heard.

"Don't tell me you really didn't realize. Hahahaha so nothing has changed over the past dozen or so years."

"Who are you talking about? Who is the member of Black Blood?"

"Why would I tell you that? You made your bed now you have to lie in it. Goodbye." With those words, Mikado disappeared.

The principal was confused and shocked. "I'll have to speak with the king."

He didn't know, however, that his secretary had been secretly listening to the entire conversation and was contacting someone.

"They already know you're in the city."

"Really? But that doesn't change much, since they don't know who I am. We'll slowly proceed with my plan. Thank you for the information, Karona."

King Maroke returned to the palace, still pondering what he had learned. Soon, Borner arrived at his chambers this time without the glasses he usually wore.

"Borner, did something happen?"

"I heard that an academy student, Derivan, tried to steal the Kinotro Crystal. What do you intend to do with him?"

"He was being controlled by someone it wasn't his fault. It was Ray Lighto who tried to steal it."

Borner narrowed his eyes at the mention of Ray. "You shouldn't be so lenient. You should exile Derivan." Suddenly, Borner's eyes began to glow blue.

The king's eyes widened, and he felt a strange sensation when he looked into Borner's eyes.
