Chapter 79 - Rule No. 80: Don’t Run When It Feels Right

Aira didn't feel the urge to run anymore.

That surprised her the most.

There was a time when calm scared her—

when things going right made her look for the exit,

when comfort felt like a warning sign.

Now, it just felt… honest.

She noticed it when Reyhan reached for her hand for the first time.

Not suddenly.

Not dramatically.

Just a small, quiet movement as they walked together after class.

He didn't grip it.

Didn't pull her closer.

He waited.

Aira looked down at their hands.

Then back at him.

And instead of overthinking it—

instead of asking herself what if this changes everything—

She laced her fingers with his.

Just like that.

No fireworks.

No racing heartbeat.

Just certainty.

Reyhan glanced at her, a soft smile tugging at his lips.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Yes," Aira replied.

"Really okay."

They kept walking, hands joined loosely, like it wasn't something fragile they had to protect.

"I used to run when things felt right," Reyhan admitted quietly.

"I thought comfort meant the end of excitement."

Aira squeezed his hand lightly.

"And I used to run because I thought calm meant I'd disappear again," she said.

"But this doesn't feel like that."

Reyhan nodded.

"It feels like choosing."

They stopped at the gate.

No hesitation this time.

No stepping back.

"I'm not scared of this," Aira said softly.

"And that's how I know it's right."

Reyhan smiled, eyes steady.

"Then don't run," he replied.

"Stay with me."

She didn't answer with words.

She just stayed.

Sometimes the bravest thing wasn't chasing or fighting.

It was standing still and letting something good happen.

RULE #80: Don't run when it feels right.

Because peace isn't boring—

it's earned.
