Chapter 77 - Rule No. 78: Don’t Break the Promise You Never Spoke

They never said we're together out loud.

And somehow, that made everything feel more intentional.

Aira noticed it in the way Reyhan waited without asking.

In the way he didn't assume her time was his now.

In the way he chose her without claiming her.

That mattered more than labels.

They were sitting in the library, notebooks open, neither of them really studying.

"You know what's funny?" Aira said quietly.

Reyhan looked up. "What?"

"We never promised anything," she said.

"No timelines. No rules. No expectations."

Reyhan smiled faintly.

"And yet… I feel more responsible than ever."

She nodded.

"Same."

Responsibility didn't feel like pressure anymore.

It felt like care.

"I don't want to hurt you," Reyhan said suddenly.

"Not by accident. Not by silence. Not by assuming you'll understand."

Aira closed her notebook.

"Then don't disappear when things feel heavy," she replied.

"And don't break trust just because it wasn't spelled out."

Reyhan met her eyes.

"I won't," he said.

"Even when it's uncomfortable."

That was the promise.

Not spoken like a vow.

Not dramatic.

But real.

Later, while walking toward the gate, Aira slowed down.

Reyhan slowed with her.

No instinct.

No habit.

Choice.

"You didn't promise me anything," Aira said quietly.

"I know," Reyhan replied.

"But that doesn't mean I'm careless."

She smiled faintly.

"I believe you."

That night, Aira wrote something in her notebook.

Not a rule.

A reminder.

Unspoken promises still matter.

She closed it gently.

Because sometimes, the most important commitments were the ones you chose to honor without being asked.

RULE #78: Don't break the promise you never spoke.

Because trust doesn't need words—

it needs consistency.
