There were so many things that simply shouldn't be done in front of children.
Especially if you were their parent… or, in this case, their grandfather. Adults were supposed to set an example. They were supposed to teach children right from wrong through their own actions, to model the behavior they wanted to see. Things like smoking, drinking, walking around half-naked, or shamelessly flirting with your grandchildren's tutor should have been common sense.
Somehow, this man had managed to do all four.
Well… he wasn't completely naked, so I could overlook that. And he wasn't technically hitting on me yet. At least, not openly. But he was smoking. He was drinking. He was shouting loud enough for the entire neighborhood to hear. And worst of all, he was doing it in front of four children under the age of nine.
The youngest wasn't even five years old.
