Ezekiel led the team across the courtyard toward the reinforced concrete building. The structure loomed before them, its walls stark and unadorned, a monument to cruelty that seemed to absorb the very light around it. Unlike the omega dormitories, this one had no windows, no openings that might let in light or hope. It was a tomb for the living, designed to erase any trace of humanity from those held within. The gray concrete seemed to swallow the beam of their flashlights, leaving only shadows that danced and shifted with every movement.
