Elio finally left Novaterra after staying two extra days.
We were a crying mess as he left. I stood at the airport terminal, watching him walk toward the boarding gate with Amir in his arms, Ziya beside him, and I couldn't stop the tears from falling. Every few steps, Elio would look back, his face streaked with tears. He stop every minute to wabd at me and I would wave back, and the lump in my throat would grow bigger.
I wish I had met him earlier. I wish we had found each other years ago, before the scars, before the nightmares, before all the years we spent alone. But this was okay. This was more than I ever thought I would have.
