[Pokemon World]
[Hoenn Region, Near Mt. Chimney]
The sky was completely crimson, as if it had been set on fire.
Even though Axel had taken the orb from Groudon, it still completed its Primal Reversion through the power of the plate.
Every step it took instantly turned the ground beneath it into a sea of rolling magma.
The Desolate Land ability had been amplified to the limit by the plate's power. All moisture in the air had completely evaporated. Rivers dried up, lakes cracked apart, and vegetation turned to ash in an instant.
Volcanoes erupted wildly because of its power. Thick smoke and volcanic ash covered the sky, while lava swallowed everything in its path like a flood of death.
Wild Pokemon scattered in terror. Anyone even a step too slow would instantly be burned into charcoal.
Cries of grief kept coming from the nearby towns. The professional Trainers guarding the towns tried to stop the spread of the lava, but no matter what Pokemon they used, even Water-types that should have countered Fire-types the most could not stop the lava from flowing.
It looked like the end of the world.
"Run! Hurry and run! Get to the ocean!", The professional Trainers, Rangers near the town, and Officer Jennys all spoke with helplessness in their voices.
They knew that all of the Pokemon world's top combat power had already gone to another world.
With the strength left behind now, there was no way to stop this disaster.
Fortunately, during the escape, not a single person complained. Not one person thought the Pokemon world's strongest fighters should not have gone to save another world.
Because they knew that the versions of themselves in that world only had it even harder.
Suddenly, the mayor frowned and looked ahead, shouting loudly and breaking everyone out of their thoughts.
"You there in the black suit, why are you standing on that rock?"
"There's a disaster coming! Hurry and come with us, or the lava will burn you alive!"
"It's alright," Hearing someone tell him to run, the tall figure suddenly smiled and walked against the crowd toward the mayor.
"I'm a Gym Leader from Kanto. Because I made some mistakes, I didn't go support that world yesterday."
"Today, I want my son to see whether making up for my past mistakes will make him forgive this useless father..."
"What son or father? Fathers and sons don't stay enemies overnight. Just run already," The mayor was getting anxious. The Trainers in town had already said that forget Gym Leaders, even Champions couldn't stop the monster behind them.
"You should all leave first. Also, thank you for the kind words. I hope fathers and sons don't hold grudges either," Giovanni replied with a smile and kept walking forward.
His suit was neat as always, but his eyes were very different from before. He no longer looked like that cold ambition-driven man. Instead, he looked more like a father.
A gentle father willing to risk everything for his son.
"Beedrill, do you think we can do it?", Giovanni lightly rubbed the Luxury Ball in his hand while moving closer to Groudon and speaking softly to his first Pokemon.
The Poke Ball shook slightly. Clearly, Beedrill also knew it would be difficult to fight against a Primal Groudon despite the type advantage.
But... how many years had it been since its master spoke to it like this?
For the young master, it was willing to risk everything.
White light flashed, and Beedrill's thin figure appeared in front of Giovanni, staring fearlessly at the mountain-like Groudon ahead.
Light spread from Giovanni's wrist. A jade-colored glow flashed across Beedrill's body. The deadly poison stingers on its arms became longer, and its body nearly doubled in size.
Mega Evolution activated instantly.
"Beedrill, use Pin Missile continuously!", Giovanni had never given Beedrill much Poison-type training, so even with the type advantage, he still did not have it try to poison Groudon. Instead, he chose its best Bug-type attack.
Beedrill's body turned into lightning. Green light flashed on its stingers. Every dive attack left a tiny hole in Groudon's hard lava armor.
The power of jade bugs spread through the wounds, almost ignoring type resistance as it entered Groudon's body and caused nonstop pain.
It could not deal fatal damage, but it successfully shifted Groudon's anger away from the crowd and onto them.
Giovanni stood at the edge of the rolling lava. Strong winds blew at the corners of his coat. His gaze remained calm as Viridian Power surged through him, fighting together with Beedrill.
His expression did not look good, because he realized this Groudon was much stronger than he had expected.
With both sides possessing plates, it was difficult for his Beedrill to overcome the gap between an ordinary Bug-type Pokemon and a legendary Pokemon.
Just as Giovanni was about to release his other Pokemon and risk everything, a violent voice suddenly entered his mind through Viridian Power.
["Useless Giovanni... Sister Mewtwo told me to protect things, so why did you come fight this big guy without bringing me along?"]
A white meteor streaked across the distant sky. Mewtwo looked arrogant as ever.
["After we beat this big guy, I'm settling our old score!"]
Giovanni froze for a moment, then suddenly laughed.
"When it comes to bonds, I can't compare to that kid Axel..."
"But in battle, I, Viridian Giovanni, will never hold anyone back!"
"No matter which world it is, someone has to clean up the mess!"
"Beedrill, change tactics. Move around and attack Groudon's joints."
"Mewtwo, use Psystrike and draw Groudon's attention over here!"
The two Pokemon immediately obeyed. Brilliant colored light shot into the sky. Freed from its controller, Team Rocket's Mewtwo floated in the air as powerful psychic force slammed into Primal Groudon's heavy back like an invisible hammer.
Groudon roared and immediately used Precipice Blades. The earth raged, and countless giant sword-shaped stone pillars burst from the violently shaking ground, rushing toward Giovanni and his Pokemon like a tidal wave.
Giovanni's Beedrill narrowed its eyes sharply and released Rhyperior through a beam of energy, ordering it to protect Giovanni.
Then it charged straight at the stone pillars without hesitation, aiming directly at the plate on Groudon's forehead.
