Adelia wasn't dull, so she knew exactly what Azel meant by that statement. If she didn't sit with him like he had asked her to and if she didn't lean into his palm like he wanted, he was going to tattle on her to her Father!
Her fists clenched. This was blatant blackmail!
Though she was quivering, Adelia knew it wasn't entirely from anger. In fact, part of her wasn't against this at all, rather it anticipated it.
Adelia couldn't figure why; she was engaged and being in the same room alone with another man apart from the one she was pledged to was scandalous, not to talk of leaning into the palm of said man!
Anyone could figure that rather than anger, Adelia was trembling from literal embarrassment; how could she… how could she possibly do such a thing?!
Azel had to stop himself from chuckling as he watched her tremble but he hardly contained it and a huff of laughter escaped him, prompting Adelia to glare at him.
